I was flying out early, so I decided to get a hotel close to the airport, and this property fit the bill and was within per diem. It was a decent place to stay for one night. I'd give it three stars for the accommodations, with a fourth star for the friendly staff and a very good breakfast buffet with made-to-order options. Cleanliness is questionable, it appears only cursory cleaning. Is performed. It is very easy to see this when staying for long periods. Overall, cannot describe it as a great experience. Has a good location which is a plus. The signature cookie is a nice touch.

The hotel is older and outdated. The hallways were odd and our room was hard to find. The bathroom was so tiny that the door almost hit the toilet when opening the door. They advertise a breakfast buffet, but they don't tell you that you have to buy it for $15 in the restaurant attached to the hotel, and the food served on the buffet was exactly what you would find for free at any Hampton Inn. Acceptable lodging but I would not stay there again.

Lovely staff and hotel. I always stay at this hotel whenever I an in Norfolk, VA. It is in a very convenient area. Right up the street from a shopping center, they have a shuttle service if you don't have a car, and they greet you with delicious cookies!

My wife and I were shocked at how bad this hotel was considering it is a Hilton brand hotel. Kids running up and down the hallway being super loud until midnight. Then they gave our room key to another guest as if it was vacant which led to a very awkward moment when she came barging in the room asking why we were on her hotel room and demanding we leave. I stayed here for seven nights, so I got some perspective on the place. For the summary, the stay was very good, the room was big enough, the stuff was very helpful, and the shuttle service is great, we used it also to get to some shopping ares and back. Housekeeping forgot to clean my room one day, however, I got personal notes on my bed from them:) Parts of the carpet was torn, but in general, the room was in a good condition.

The maids actually yell at you when you make a simple request, you may wish to service your own room. Front desk had decent staff, however the maids felt it was OK to belittle guests and complain. Broken elevators, better to take the stairs, better yet stay at another hotel.

We had to be in town for a couple of nights and I picked the DoubleTree, well because it was the DoubleTree. All of the staff was nice. The bartender was great when I had a special request of a canned Coke and not a fountain drink. Had lunch in the bar and we really liked everything. The rooms were very nice clean. The desk clerks are incompetent, I had to get keys 3 times to get in the room, they charged my credit card 2 times when I checked in and 3 times when I checked out. They assured me they will get it straight, well theyDidn't !!! They had only one elevator working, had to wait and wait to go up or down.

The hotel amenities were adequate, and the room was comfortable. However, there were maintenance issues with the elevators during our whole stay. The restaurant food wasn't bad, but the restaurant itself had a musky smell in certain areas.

This is a nice hotel, very good price for the vaule. Close to amenities and restaurants. A short drive from the airport. I would stay at this hotel again. If you don't want to venture out to eat the have a restaurant in the hotel as well. Oh and one more thing, who doesn't love the warm cookies when you arrive and depart from the hotel!

Staff was very nice and professional. Hotel is a bit on the old side and starting to show it's age. Room was fine and the beds were comfortable. Only stayed one night and didn't really get to use any of the amenities other than the free breakfast, which was great.

Party going on all hours and guest banging on room door close to us trying get occupant to open the door. Awake at 3:15a.m. Only one elevator working so made for long waits. Old property probably causes more maintenance issues.

The exterior was not impressive. Looks pretty worn. Although the interior was acceptable I felt it is due for renovation. One of the two elevators was not working causing backups of visitors. The room was well furnished and comfortable. Even with my suggestion for renovation, I would stay again.

I arrived late and when I turned the bed down there was blood on the sheet (size of a dime). Front desk moved me to a new room. That room was on the end of the hall and had clearly had a leak in the past from rain? It was so musty and humid, my clothing felt damp the next morning. There were stains in the toilet bowl. Very happy with our stay. Our flight was cancelled and I booked the room through HiltonHonors and we received a good price. Close to airport. Internet kept going off. Free airport shuttle runs every 30 minutes to the airport.

After a stay for the weekend to celebrate my best friend birthday ..It wasnt a good stay .It was booked a month in advance for a bday party for a cruise at the spirit of norfolk and to attend the harbor festival..... Not what I would expect from a top tier hotel. One working elevator, dirty bathroom, unsafe environment (in my opinion), no extra amenities (no jacuzzi rooms). Stayed at other Hilton brand hotels but this was the worse.

I was well pleased wih the Double Tree Norfolk Airport. Great staff. Clean rooms. Wonderful Breakfast. I am a seasoned global traveler and this is a very good hotel. Highly recommend a stay here. Close to the airport and close to the base if you are visiting for a military homecoming.

It was clean, the customer service was great. The restaurant was nice with good food, reasonable prices. The staff in both the hotel and the restaurant were very helpful. We were able to bring our four legged child ( dog ).

Hotel was satisfactory during my stay. Only one elevator was in working order but the wait time was not long. Staff were quick to respond to requests as needed but my only disappointment was the noise in the hallway from other guest opening and closing their doors. My hotel door had about a 1/5" space in the door frame which allowed light from the hallway to shine inside of my hotel room as well as the noise from guests as they entered and exited their rooms. Hotel was ok for the price. Nothing to do in this area. Staff was very nice. The restaurant (max and ermas)had a nice bar very nice bartender but we didn't eat there. There's a very small gift shop but really had nothing worth buying. Wouldn't stay here again. Pembroke mall area Next trip.

Wonderful hotel, very clean and very friendly staff. After a long flight and exhausting day, the staff at the Double Tree greeted me with a smile and a cookie. The check-in process was very fast. I was so pleased with the hotel room. The beds were very comfortable.

Property is clean and nice enough, but the overall amenities are lacking. No microwaves in rooms, small exercise room, nice pool, older bathrooms, etc. One of two elevators was inoperative most of my stay.

This stay was ok since my family needed to get away. The indoor and outdoor pools were maintained, however some of the patio furniture needed to be replaced. I was there for a submarine reunion. The staff was excellent, and the rooms provided for group activities were very nice. They easily held the 200+ crew embers who were in attendance. We could not have asked for better service from the wait staff who genuinely seemed to enjoy what they were doing, and seemed to be very happy to be a part of our reunion. They attended to all our needs and made us all feel very welcome.

Property is run down, with aging mattresses, toilets that move around,bad smells in the elevators, and non-working room phones (good thing there were no emergencies to report). The staff was very good (a positive).

I stayed at the Doubletree in Norfolk for 5 nights for business. Very typical Hilton quality. Staff was nice, room was spacious, housekeeping did a nice job. There's a decent bar/restaurant inside the hotel that is very fairly priced. The only downfall is there are no other restaurants within walking distance, though many are within a very reasonable short drivel. I would definitely stay here again.

The bathroom had a panel hanging loose behind the toilet. The Bathtub had mold under the grout. We Could hear voices in the next room. There was a Dog barking in the hall and people running up and down after 10:00. Towels and linens were nice. Lobby was okay.

This hotel needs a good scrubbing. They don't offer late check out even to their reward members. Breakfast food is greasy. Our tv did not work, initially. The decor is extremely dated, with bathroom tile needing to be redone and low water pressure

We only stayed there for the airport convenience. But the hotel had a very musty smell and in need of repair and a upgrade. Was not up to the standard Double Tree hotel. I will not stay there again. The only good thing is that It was confident to the airport.

Upon arrival, they were unable to find my reservation even though I had a confirmation & yes I am a rewards member. I found dirty laundry from the person before me. . . was moved to another room that was musty and safe not working. Came back to room after dinner after reporting issues and my room a/c hardly working (over 90 degrees outside) and carpet was wet and stained and moldy smell was still present. I wish I could figure out what the deal is with the Double Tree chain. It use to be a higher end hotel but now I think it's between a Hampton Inn and a Garden Inn. This hotel is no different. Value was okay for my dollar but the hotel outside of the lobby area felt old. Lobby was beautiful. Staff was nice. Indoor pool and hot tub were good sized. Outdoor pool appeared closed for the season. Room was a bit larger than standard. Bathroom was more than adequate. Overall, very nice hotel for the price.

Even though the staff were very nice at the hotel, the hotel was dirty. the rooms were poorly maintained, scratched broken furniture, stained carpet throughout the hotel. pungent unclean odor in the room. I don't need fancy, but I need clean. Never, ever again.

The hotel is crumbling down, the lift is barely working, there was a piece of plastic in my quesadillas and we have waited 30/40 minutes to place an order, after rush hour. The paint in the bathroom is peeling down and the toilets take 5 min to reload. I won't recommend this hotel.

MY wife and I enjoyed the service and helpful staff. The room was clean and very comfortable. We had a 5 star experience the accommodation were great. I cannot help but be impress by all the staff from the minute we arrived. It was a joy to stay at Double Tree.

I arrived to the hotel five hours before my check in and they were able to check me in early. The staff was very pleasant. The also had a store in the back that sold jewelry, shirts etc... that i'd recommend to others
