I think Hilton has figured out the trick to making all their properties consistently customer focused. Stuff happens at a hotel, and it's not that it happens (although it's better when it doesn't), but it's what they do. The Newport News Hilton Garden Inn is yet another one of their hotels in which the staff will do anything to please the customer. We had a room in our party which had a mechanical defect (air conditioner), and they simply moved them to a new room. Apologetic and helpful; th... Read more

Fabulous hotel which is close to the malls, various restaurants, Williamsburg and the beach. Hotel is back in the cut so you're away from the hustle and bustle but can literally drive across the road and be at a Walmart in 2 min. There is a Regal cinema on the same road as the hotel which was awesome. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was amazing for the most part. Very expensive room rates and the breakfast was substandard for $9.95. We stayed here for a baseball tournament and will go elsewhere if we have another tournament in this area. The location is fine if you have business or other reasons to be in the area, but not really close to much leisure activity.

If you are searching for spacious, clean rooms, inviting and friendly staff, good buffet breakfast with great hostess, QUIET and clean hotel, search no more! Hotels do not come any more accommodating than this one! The only suggestion for improvement would be better bed pillows. And this is not a deal breaker. Just request more pillows from Housekeeping.

My son, on his first airline trip alone, was stranded at the airport by American Airlines at midnight. This hotel sent a van to pick him up at the airport, made sure he was up in the morning, and transported him back to the airport at 4am for a 5:20 am flight.
