We booked this hotel because it was near the cemetery that we needed to be at. I have learned a lot from Hotel Impossible and I did my own inspection of the room and the front curb appeal. The entrance had beautiful flowers, but the benches were awful and the smell of cigarettes when you get to the door is nauseating. We got to the hotel earlier then expected driving from Florida. We took the chance to see if they would let us check in early, especially how exhausted we were. The front desk cle... Read more

We spend 2 nights a week @ this hotel, & the staff is familiar with us. I made our reservation online the night before, but because we didn't get there by 6 pm our reservation was cancelled. The staff found an open room to put us in, but it was a handicap room that wasn't used a lot. So we were missing the pillows, & a cpl other things, but the staff was very helpful & assisted us the best they could. We'll be back this Friday night.

The hotel looks and could use some renovations. When I arrived on the premise, my room keys did not work. I switched keys 3 times and finally they just had to give me a new room. The bed had several hairs on them. The staff was nice, however, the other guests were very loud which I know is out of the hotels hands. There were people smacking on the doors, running and yelling down the hallway despite people asking them to quiet down.

We almost always stay at the Oyster Point Days Inn in Newport News, VA. Not only are the rooms clean and some of the best rates around, but the staff is always friendly and helpful. A couple of them remember us from other stays.

There wasn't a flat sheet on either of the beds! This shouldn't happen. The bathtub looked like it could have been cleaner also. W Everything else was clean. Otherwise, staff was nice and check in and check out was easy.

This was a last-minute stay as the original reservation I had at another hotel was cancelled. I made the reservation through Hotels.com and was given a a Smoking room. I can say they do a good job of cleaning as when I walked in, I didn't smell anything. The room was decent but they had phone issues as the phone did not work. Staff was very friendly and met one of the managers while checking out the next day. Very friendly.

Near, but not in, a revitalized part of the city. Just far enough outside of it that the location doesn't feel safe. Questionable characters hanging around the parking lot and just outside of the front entrance, making my daughter and I feel uncomfortable. The hotel was dirty, dated, and not well lit. The free breakfast was really poor, and what little milk there was in a thermos was warm. Supplies ran out quickly an hour after opening. The pool area was unkempt. I had intended on staying here while working in the area for the next 6-8 months. After my last stay I am now looking for other options. The price was low which I liked but the whole place needs to be cleaned up and updated. Toilet seats broken or loose in every room we've stayed in and on our last stay there was the smell of pot throughout the entire third floor corridor. Also, the key cards stopped working halfway through every stay and they keep trying to charge a safe fee.

Dimly lit hallways, very meh breakfast buffet, room was pretty musty, even the air conditioning in the room didn't really cool down the room, it still felt pretty wet and humid. Wi-fi was not working at all. Bedding was okay, and it definitely served its purpose well. Old furnishings, definitely needs sprucing up badly. But it's a Days Inn - you get what you pay for.

Several members of my ladies tennis team stayed for a tournament because the Marriot was booked. We were ALL overcharged and had to pull out our reservations to get the right rates and they charged various extra rates for "safe fee". It was like a scam. They never made up the bed. They refused our request for a late checkout even though the hotel was empty. The customer service desk was very rude. That rates were cheap and you got less than you paid for.

This was my 2nd stay at this Hotel so I knew it wasn't the Greatest. I'd give the Cleanliness of this facility a 60 out of 100. It needs to be Remodeled/Updated terribly. I can say the best part of my stay was The Staff! The furniture is old, the toilet must have had a slow leak because it constantly refilled itself the entire stay. It is in a great location. To me it's a okay place if you just a need to get some sleep for the night. Won't be visiting again UNTIL it's Updated.

Overall not a pleasant stay. Cleanliness was "okay" at best, but facility does not seem to be maintained much, if at all. The provided breakfast options were also "okay" but we had low expectations for that anyway. Real downers included the humidity levels indoors, the general/faint smell of chlorine (or bleach?) in the room and hallway, and the pathetic TV offering in the room. Carpets were peeling of floor, furniture beat up and scratched, and the toilet was clogged. And to make matters worse, neighboring guests in next room were partying loudly till 4 AM.
