Hotel is not located near any good restaurants. Plenty are 7 miles away near another Hampton. Hotel would be ok but is small and location should reflect price difference. Wytheville hotel much much better.

This hotel was fine for what it is, a stop in a well traveled highway route. The property was clean, the staff was pleasant, the complementary breakfast was the usual Hampton Inn quality. All in all, if traveling around here, this was fine. As stated in other reviews, there's nothing to speak of around the hotel, but there are places just a short trip up or down the highway.

The front desk seemed happy to see us, even though we arrived about 10 PM. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a nice variety for breakfast, and everything was available, which was nice since we slept late.

This is a very typical Hampton Inn. You know the bed will be clean and comfortable and the breakfast will be waiting for you in the morning. I am saddened that Hampton Rates have gone up again but I suppose everything is going up so I shouldn't complain. I recommend this Hampton Inn highly as I have all the Hampton Inns I have every stayed at.

Eggs looked like cubes. Oatmeal was like paste. They had an hour of service left, but didn't see a lot of fresh food being put out. I thought when I stayed here before it was good, but after this time I wouldn't go back.

This is a favorite stop for us from Memphis on our way to eastern PA. Hotel is easy access from I81, staff friendly, very clean and good breakfast. Mexican restaurant a short walk away but other than that, stop in Wytheville about 10 mile South to eat with many choices.

After driving 13 hours, 2 of which were crawling in construction traffic, it was nice to finally get to our hotel. The location is easily accessible. There is a Flying J's gas station complex very close with a Denny's restaurant as well as a few fast food places. It was a typical Hampton Inn which is why I try to choose whenever I travel. I had some minor issues with my room that I discovered whenever we were about to go to sleep. I brought these to the attention of the front desk when we c... Read more

The hotel overall very nice. The staff was courteous and friendly. I was pleased with the room and the location. The one problem we had was the breakfast. I realize it's free but it was pretty bad. The eggs were stale and the sausages were cold. The breads like the croissants were also cold and stale. I would recommend the hotel but eat breakfast somewhere else.

Hotel poorly built. Hot and cold reversed in the bathroom. Looks like the owner cuts every corner possible under the Franchise agreement. Location is good but there was a drive to any restaurants. Staff was no help in directions or recommendations.

It feels like an older hotel. Tucked into the trees off the highway. Very very quiet sleep environment. Easy to find. Front desk staff was warm and inviting. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was clean and well maintained. Nice little workout room Good stay.

I booked a non-smoking room, am a member of the Hilton Honors, but only at the basic level - - the room is labeled non-smoking but it has been smoked in and more than once. It should be taken off the list of non-smoking rooms. Very disappointed. Smoke makes me sick to my stomach. Was thinking about staying more than one night, but checked in first to check it out. Will shower, sleep and leave. Probably won't even bother with breakfast in the morning. Frustrated because my stuff will smell like s... Read more

We stopped here on our way from Ohio to the Carolina shore. Got there very late but we were met with a smile and our room was clean and comfy. I had read reviews stating how much you here the toilets flush and that is true, but we were so tired it did not disrupt my sleep. The only bad thing I can say is there is very limited parking and when folks with trucks and campers park sideways and take up 6 spots each it can be rough. We had two rooms and two cars and had to fit our small car into a spa... Read more

We stay in Hampton Inns quite a bit. As usual, the staff at this Hampton was friendly and welcoming. The room was very small, but clean. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was good. The most noticeable negative was the A/C unit - it was so noisy and we could not Macgyver it to make it bearable. Bring ear plugs unless you can sleep through loud noise. Smokers hang out in the parking lot near the side entry door and at the pool. If you're a smoker, not a problem. If you aren't ... Read more

While we did not use the net, we did use the TV some. It seemed that the staff was interested in us and were willing to talk to us as if they had known us for years. Maybe they did. The hotel was very clean. The beds were comfortable. It is kinda in the middle of nowhere. the only options for food are the mexican restaurant next door and a Denny's at the truck stop across the street. There are a lot of options at the exits prior to or after. depending on which way you are traveling. Unfortunately, the clerks at the restaurant, could not help with what was available at what exit.

We reserved a non-smoking room in a non-smoking facility and boy were we surprised. Room 403 was definitely a room that had been smoked in. After about ten min. We called the front desk and we were changed to a nice non-smoked in room on the third floor. It was very clean. The only concern was that when the toilets in other rooms above and next door were flushed it sounded like a toilet on an air plane. The breakfast was average to above. We have stayed at this hotel multiple times. It is about a 3 hour drive from our house, and is just right for getting part of our 8 hour trip done on the first night. Even a very last minute reservation for my Grandmother's funeral in 2011 was satisfied. The exit is easy to get to from North I-77, though there always seems to be construction somewhere around the hotel or exit. Very easy to get back on the Interstates as well in the morning. Staff has always been friendly.

This is one of the nicest Hampton Inns that my family has ever stayed at and we have stayed at many of them. If you are in this area you should stay here. Our room smelled musty and was so damp we had trouble sleeping. I always try to stay at Hampton Inns, but this one was not up to the usual high standards I expect there. The breakfast dining area was very cramped. Most Hampton Inns have nice amenities like fresh cookies and a "canteen" area where you can get snacks and sundries, but not this one. I stay at Hilton properties whenever possible. They are consistently good. This one nearly ruined every Hilton and Hampton for me. Welcomed by one of the most unfriendly clerks ever. The room smelled like pet urine, the floors were not vacuumed. The bed even looked like someone had just left and pretended to make it. Morning breakfast: Oatmeal was cold, eggs were dry like they were yesterday's left overs, OJ was so nasty I gagged. Do not stay here.

Stayed here as we are driving south BOS to ATL because it had the best Hilton price within a 80 stretch of I81. I don't have high expectations for an overnight on a family road trip, except for clean and comfortable. I can live with the dated rooms, but I'm getting tired of killing bugs tonight. There are cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, bugs dead and live under the sink, an outlet in the sink area that is coming apart from the wall. Seriously, Hampton! When the family of 7 got down to the dining room, all that was available for seating were some couches, a few 4 seat tables and a high top counter with bar stools. We arrived late at night, prechecked in on Hilton website, to find that our nonsmoking room had had smoking in it. So because of the late hour with only a handful of rooms left, we were moved to a room by the elevator. It was just too late to move again so we turned on every fan, etc. to drown out the elevator noise and stayed there. I travel frequently and have preferred to stay at one hotel chain...Hilton. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm going to have to start trying other hotel brands, as Hilton's high standards are not being followed across the chain's hotels. This Hampton is old and not even close to being worth the $104 rate! Very small rooms, marginal A/C cooling and a fitness room that's a joke. The only plus is that it is located in a quiet area off of the interstate.

We usually stay at a Hilton property & prefer Hampton. This is an older inn that really does need some TLC, but it was the last room within 100 miles so we were glad to find it. Linens were clean, bed comfy, standard breakfast, pool & a/c was ok. Our room was by the business center so we were awakened early by people in it.

Bell brought out from a room behind the counter a young lady in a sweatshirt and jeans, no badge, no uniform who took the opportunity to tell me at length about her series of unfortunate second hand car purchases and breakdowns.
