I had called ahead to book this room. As a Gold Elite IHG member, usually I give my Priority Club number and that of course fills in everything about me, including my preferred card to hold the room with and my e-mail address to send the confirmation to. We had booked 8 Holiday Inns in the month long trip to this pint and ALL worked this way (and many gave us a free upgrade). The woman who took my call at this hotel didn't take my IHG number and so we went through the whole address/phone/Canadi... Read more

Convenient location in Lexington, off the highway. It isn't right in the midst of downtown, so you do need to drive to see the historic downtown area. But, this location is great in terms of ease of parking, electric car charging stations (Tesla charging stations), and set back from the road sufficiently so you don't hear anything. Check-in (using points) was simple. The room was very nice. I loved the bathroom amenities (Bath & Body Works toiletries and a little yellow rubber ducky). Very clean... Read more

On a weekend road trip to see the sights of Virginia and West Virginia, Many sights that I can save for another day. We looked for a place to stay and came across the Holiday Inn Express in Lexington, Virginia. They just happen to have a room that we could stay in with our two Cocker's Chloe and Sam. The front desk persons were extremely helpful and made the reservation process very smooth. The room was well appointed, clean and fresh, which for me and the wife made it a most pleasurable night.

Once again the staff at this hotel proved to me why they are some of the best in the business. Been using this hotel since 2009. Great staff, clean hotel, great complimentary breakfast, easy parking and great location to VMI. Thank you for taking good care of my this past week!

We came into Lexington around 7pm on a Saturday for a spur of the moment vacation. We chose this hotel just from the signs on the interstate and I honestly couldn't be more happy that we did. It was so clean and smelled amazing, the staff was so friendly, and the rubber duckies in the rooms were an amazing touch. We had a room with double beds and all the bedding looked and smelled clean. The pillows were nice and we had the option of soft or firm pillows on the bed, which was a very considerate... Read more

Motorcycling back to Florida and got caught by TS Bonnie. Holiday inn express in Lexington was close to the interstate. Room was very nice and plenty of towels and a hot shower and I was good. Front desk staff made our whole group of riders feel most welcome. They even made fresh coffee and cookies!

Staff is friendly, especially the breakfast kitchen staff. The building appears to be older, based on wiring and outlets in rooms...there are not any convenient outlets for PC or phone chargers. Rooms were under renovation during my stay, though.

Pick this Holiday inn for the location as a base point for our travels in the surrounding area. We wanted to ride the back roads and check out the waterfalls and humpback bridge and the Blueridge. The staff was very pleasant and professional the rooms are very nice just had one thing I dislike is the motion sensor in the room that activates the air-conditioning , when you leave the room it senses no one in the room so it shuts down when we got back into the room the temp was in the high 70s (... I'm shocked that this place is a Holiday Inn Express. They're normally very reliable to provide clean and comfortable stays. I have included some pictures. Please note the chair in our room, it had to have been one of the most disgusting pieces of furniture I had ever seen in the hotel room. It was uncomfortable to have my children in there. I did mention at checkout that I wasn't pleased, because honestly the company pictures online did not depict the place correctly, and the staff was very pol... Read more

We had a very nice weekend stay at this hotel. The staff is very friendly, the rooms were very clean. My only complaint would be the supposedly hot breakfast in the morning. I'm not sure how you can so overcook eggs and sausage and still have them stone cold when you go to eat them. Luckily our first morning we went out for breakfast. But since we wanted to get on the road the next day we thought we'd just grab breakfast down there. Big mistake. So I would suggest staying there, it's reasonably ... Read more

This Holiday Inn Express is not in line with other hotels in this chain. Renovations are going on now, but that does not help the overpriced accommodations at this time. Worst of all, there wasn't an indoor or outdoor pool! For this price, I expect A LOT better cleanliness, quality, service, and amenities.

We paid the same price or lower at Holiday Inn,s in Knoxville Tn. and Novi Mi.for lot better service and friendly staff. The room Maid was the best person there. The breakfast buffet was not well stock and internet service was down for 90 percent of our stay for two nights.

All the single rooms were full, so got a suite. It was huge and would be great for a family. It was well appointed with amenities including the kitchen area in the room. The couch was bit worn and the circulating fan inoperable. There were two queen sized beds. The breakfast area had a nice variety and was clean and well attended.

Stayed one night on my way to NYC. Have stayed in the Holiday Inn Express when my son attended Washington and Lee. It is near I-81 and is a reliable place to spend the night. The hotel is undergoing a renovation and I was not able to get an upgraded room. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is the standard HIE fare. I would recommend this property.

Nice clean hotel they will be working on updating it but has charm. Staff is very friendly and helpful with suggestions for food and activities. Hotel is right off the highway. About an hour from laray caverns not a bad drive. Minutes away from down town Lexington. Lots of restaurant, grocery store, gas stations near by. Free breakfast in the mornings great plus!

If you are a frequent Holiday Inn Express traveler, beware! This is NOT a HIE! This is an old hotel that Holiday Inn had purchased and has yet to update. I feel that the brand should maintain its brand by closing a hotel until has brought a hotel up to its standard. My room stank so badly that I almost gagged when I walked in. It smelled of mold and mildew.I paid $195/NT for a business trip. RIDICULOUS! The AC's have not been cleaned in forever. I will probably be sick soon after leaving... Read more

The staff were friendly and pleasant. They greeted you with a smile and I felt welcomed. Rooms were very clean and spacious, even the bathroom. This hotel is a very short drive to attractions so the location is a plus. I did not eat the breakfast offered because we slept in, but I have no doubt it was good. For any hater out there you just need to stop being so snooty. This hotel gives you value for your dollar and I have absolutely no complaints.

I think my title is too encompassing. It's all of that and then some. Each bed has 2 pillows, one soft and one firm. And tell me the little rubber ducky isn't a nice touch. If you know somebody at VMI, this is the place! (they could use an ice machine on second floor though)

The service was great, with nice southern charm. The room was clean and very quiet. The free breakfast eggs were poor, most likely from a premade carton. If you stop in Lexington, Virginia this hotel is one of the better ones.

Called hotel direct to book a room. They were very efficient and immediately emailed me my confirmation. When we arrived a little tough at first to find the correct place to cross the road. A sign at the road would be helpful. The hotel is 4 stories and has great curb appeal. Check in was fast and we were thanked for being IHG members. The room was great. It was clean, there was no odor, and the furniture and beds were clean and comfortable. The room was nice and quiet. My wife was so surprised ... Read more

Checked in quickly. Staff was friendly. Convenient access from side parking lot to the room. Room seemed clean but outdated. Hotel was pretty outdated in decor but there were signs posted that they were remodeling (I never saw evidence of that but perhaps they were starting on floors other than the main level). Wasn't a fan of there not being A/C directly in the bedroom (wall fan between living room A/C unit and bedroom). It was nice to have a full kitchen area in the hotel room. Breakfast was ... Read more

I was happy to get a room here as there was a horse event going on in town, and many places were booked. Holiday Inn is one of my most favorite places to stay, and this was definitely a very nice hotel. Staff was very efficient and friendly. Breakfast was very good. Ok place for overnight. Clean and friendly. We didn't eat breakfast there. Finding a place nearby for dinner was a challenge. The choice was Applebee's or Ruby Tuesday's. Check out was easy. Desk staff ok.

This HIE is located just off the intersection of I-81 and I-64. The hotel is next to an Applebee's so you don't have to drive to dinner if you don't want to. The hotel feels fairly new, very clean with spacious rooms. WiFi works very well. The breakfast buffet was typical HIE, nothing special but quite satisfactorily. To our surprise, there is a Tesla charging station in the parking lot.

We stayed one night on our way home from Asheville. Easy to find off the freeways, with an Applebees restaurant right next door (and a discount for showing your room key if you eat there). Spacious room and bathroom, and good breakfast the next morning. Only issue was the temperature control on the shower was a bit quirky. Perfect for a one night stay.

I would have given this a five rating except that they have not completed an unnecessary upgrade and workmen are running around replacing carpet and pictures etc. The staff is very friendly and attentive to the needs of the guests both two and four footed.
