I expected more. Rooms were definitely clean which is very important. But bathroom had ordinary plastic tub... not a nice shower. Check in staff not helpful or welcoming...at all. One of them could not even manage to.smile. Complementary breakfast was good. Coffee also very good. Not a bad place..but not really worth the price.

The Hampton Inn guest rooms are cleverly connected to an old Plantation House within walking distance of Historic downtown Lexington. The grounds are beautiful and you can eat breakfast on an open porch overlooking the lawns (weather permitting). The breakfast is excellent with plenty of healthy options. The guest rooms are clean and well kept...comfortable beds for a great night sleep. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful not only regarding the hotel but also about Lexington itself. Fr... Hampton Inn has restored the previous Governors mansion, Col Alto- a beautiful, elegant federal treasure. In addition to regular rooms you may be lucky enough to stay in one of the historic rooms. I recommend paying the slightly higher rate to do this. The mansion has a wonderful group of staff that know how to take care of the weary traveller. This hotel is on the outskirts of Lexington, a cute town just off highway 81.

We make a point to stay at this Hampton Inn. It is located in a convenient and historical area and the Inn itself has a rich history. The hotel chain did a tremendous job maintaining the property's history and buildings.

I asked to extend my stay but they said no rooms were available but there were. I could walk off the street and get a room but they couldn't let a guest stay another night. And when I said that wasn't good business and the manager said so what do you want me to do. Anyway moved to another hotel. ( I went on line and confirmed they had rooms available plus a friend walked in off the street and they had a room. Just bizarre. Luckily new hotels are coming to the area try Robert E Lee or the Georges... Read more

Great location. Easy to walk to Restaurants and shops. Southern hospitality! Breakfast was okay. Enjoyed waffle and mini cheese omelet. Used pool and sat under umbrellas talking with family. We walked the grounds briefly. Very pretty setting.

I was pleasantly surprise by this beautiful hotel in Lexington. The historic house and grounds made it seem like I was staying in a park. Breakfast was great and the hotel is an easy 5-8 minute walk to downtown. I would definitely stay here again if my travel take me back to Lexington.

Main building was quaint but not particularly functional. This is the price one pays for staying in an historical building. The front desk staff was slow and despite arriving at 5PM for a reservation made months ago, our room wasn't ready. Room itself was nothing more than what looked like a converted motel with a bathroom that looked like it was designed for a prison. Monday morning continental breakfast was served in a chopped up hovel with far too few tables for the number of guests stayi... Read more

We made reservations the night before online and had no problems getting a nice room. We selected an interior entrance since they have some exterior entrance rooms. Ended up the room my husband checked into online was an exterior entrance so recommend calling if that's a concern. I ended up calling, which is how I found out about the exterior entrance. The woman I spoke with had no issues switching us to an interior room and requested a roll away bed for my daughter. It was tight quarters tho... Read more

Lexington, Virginia is a wonderful town. There is a lot of history. In an easy walk to downtown is the Hampton Inn. The centerpiece is an antebellum house that serves as the reception area and breakfast area. It is like stepping back in time. The rooms are not in the home but attached. The rooms are good sized and clean. I highly recommend the Hampton Inn in Lexington

I was here for a conference at Washington and Lee, and stayed at the Hampton Inn with my family. It is a very clean hotel and the staff are very helpful. The breakfast is good as well. The pool is a bit small, but my kids had a great time as they were the only ones there.

This Hampton Inn really goes with the local historic feeling --the classic Virginia Colonial feel. It is worth every dollar spent here. Walking distance to restaurants and other sites. The room layout has the same Hampton inn layout, but the outdoors, reception and breakfast area you will LOVE.

I was glad we stayed here that night. The hotel is really nice. Big rooms. Great location. Just a short walk a few blocks to all the great places to eat and shop. The city is really well kept. The building that you check in at is amazing. You can walk through and look at the different rooms. And you get to eat breakfast there in the morning.

My 4 person family stayed overnight here on the way to Virginia Beach. The main part of the hotel may be historic, but our 2 queen bed room was up to date, large, and clean. We were very happy with our room. The walkways through the courtyard made it easy to get back and forth from your room and the main check in/eating area. There was plenty of parking as well. The pool wasn't that big, but that didn't seem to be an issue. The kids enjoyed it. There is a whirlpool as well. The pools were clean... Read more

This historic Hampton Inn has it all. Rooms were clean and the hotel is well maintained with a beautiful grounds. The price was right and close to the Mt. Hiking... We did not use the pool but it looked small if there were a lot of kids in it. Besides that, the view from it was relaxing.

My husband and I visited Lexington, VA for a last minute long weekend. We had no reservations or itinerary. A stop at the VA welcome center gave us a chance to look at a few brochures. Since we usually stay at Hilton family hotels when possible, we saw there was a Hampton Inn although the picture did not look like your usual Hampton. When we got back on the road we called and made reservations. As we drove up to the front of the hotel we were surprised to see that the photo was correct! Th... Read more

We stayed for one night in Lexington. Nice hotel and friendly staff. Room was clean and comfy. Wish there was more seating available for breakfast as I saw people having to stand and eat. Otherwise, no other negatives. The registration building and where breakfast is served is very beautiful and not typical of a Hampton Inn. Worth the stay if you are visiting the Natural Bridge attractions.

This hotel is a gem -- built around a brick mansion from early 1800s, only 3 blocks from downtown Lexington. Reception, breakfast, and some guest rooms are in original house, with most rooms in a connected L (also brick). Our room was in the wing -- spacious, quiet, with a covered balcony overlooking the small pool and jacuzzi. We stay in Hampton Inns frequently, this is definitely the nicest we've seen. Great base for a visit to historic Lexington!

I was very hesitant to stay at any Hamton Hotels after a very unpleasant stay at the Hamton Hotel in Rhode Island. However, my trip became an unexpected last minute overnight trip and the Hamton was the first available hotel off the highway late at night. Luckily, I had a very pleasant stay at the Hampton in Virginia. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. The hotel room was clean and comfortable.

Just stopped here to get some much needed road rest. saw the property and found it beautiful and exciting. The old home on this property was converted into the front desk area and the rest was added on. use to belong to an old Virginia governor and has been well maintained. the rooms were once again excellent Hilton reputations for great places to stay. Might go back just to look around.

This Hampton Inn is part of a historical landmark. The office, check in and breakfast areas are part of a mansion dating back to 1827. It is a wonderful piece of history and a joy to enjoy breakfast where our ancestors conversed almost 200 years ago. The rooms are modern and very clean. I find the hotel to be very clean everywhere, including the stair wells. If possible, request a room overlooking the court yard. They have a nice in ground pool. Kind of unusual for a Hampton Inn being attached to an historic property. The rooms are fairly large and decently appointed. I found the mattress comfy. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn but was served in the old section of the hotel which made it much nicer. My only beef is that the towels are pretty thin.

I reserved a room at the Hampton Inn Lexington, Va for one night for a stop over on a family trip. I used my Hilton Honors points. The first room they put us in smelled musty. I asked if they had another room and they moved us to another that smelled worse. We realized on the third try that their air conditioning units were blowing out moldy moisture. All of these rooms had outside entrances like those of seedy motels. They did not have any other rooms in the "regular" hotel like structure... Read more

This is a beautiful hotel with a friendly staff and a great location to downtown Lexington. My daughter and I truly enjoyed our stay. I am not giving the full excellent rating because I felt the bathroom could have been a little cleaner where the tile and grout were. Additionally, the air conditioner was a little weird and kept cutting off in the middle of the night. We would wake up really hot, and then it would kick on and get really cold again. There was not a consistent temperature.
