Excellent and friendly service from GM during my last two visits. Staff at the front desk and at bistro very kind. Hotel exceptionally clean and property well maintained. I look forward to using this hotel when I visit Harrisonburg, VA in the future.

Of course the area is beautiful, and the place is jumping with JMU students everywhere. You have to be careful because they just walk in the street and there's a million of them. Finals are upcoming, so it might be a ghost town in a few weeks! But there are tons of great little places to eat like Clementine's and Vito's. My room was comfortable and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I do not like leaving home, but after my first day there, the Marriott felt like home!

We recently stayed in this hotel to attend graduation at JMU. The town was completely booked. Our first night we didn't sleep too well, and when the manager asked us how we liked the hotel we mentioned that the matress was a little hard. He actually sent someone out to buy a mattress topper to put on our be to improve our sleeping experience and then made a point of checking in with us after the second night to make sure there had been an improvement. When my wife wanted a cup of tea befor... Read more

I stay here frequently and like the location. It's close to food, entertainment and shopping. It's recently renovated and it update was well done. This time I needed a conference room to rent and the ones in the hotel were booked. The staff, especially the manager on duty, to control of the issue an called around to nearby hotels (not just Marriott) to find me a place to park and do my training session. It happened to be the Residence Inn and the staff there was great too. The hotel bistr... Read more

This is a hotel with a nice, hardworking staff; but in desperate need of a major facelift. It is convenient to the Inter-State, and is surface clean. But if you look closely at the surface you can see that it is to the point that you can't just cosmetically paint. It has the, "Bistro Concept,' which breaks down quickly if there more than three customers waiting for service. so either be first, be prepared to wait, or go to a restaurant off property. There are a lot of near-by restaurants, winer... Read more

We stayed just one night on our way through Harrisonburg. The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. We have come to expect comfortable rooms and good service from all the hotels in the Marriott chain and this Courtyard delivered just that.

In the heart of the business area of the city. Great view as well. I stayed overnight, just place to lay my head. The beds were comfortable and room was spacious. The room had all the amenities for a few nights' stay. It was clean as well. I would go back if I drove the route again. Highly recommend.

The entire staff, as always, was gracious and helpful. In our 4th year coming for JMU events, this year for graduation, our stay was perfect. Even the landscaping was notable in its color and perfection. Front Desk staff Sean, Madison and Toni were always pleasant and helpful, Housekeeping staff were friendly and the rooms immaculate, food and drinks were perfect, and GM Brendan was even bussing tables during breakfast! Great location for JMU and best view in town! The dining and living ro... Read more

When we visit family in the "burg" we stay at a Marriott property. Not always the Courtyard - we switch it up. The Courtyard is lovely (we were in room 412) and it always works for us. I especially like the fact that the mirrored closet door is directly behind the bathroom vanity. If you angle the door just right you can see the back of your hair when you are blowing it dry. I have mentioned this before as something I really like. When it works out in a hotel room it is a plus! Now for a p... Read more

My husband and I have stayed here several times and we always enjoy it. Whenever we can, we try to get a Jacuzzi suite. The rooms are clean, well appointed and the staff is helpful. Another plus - this hotel is typically quiet and we are always able to relax and enjoy our stay. We will definitely be back, as often as possible.

After a long day on the road, which included hitting a deer and tearing up the front of a new car, my wife and I arrived at the Courtyard by Marriott location in Harrisonburg, Va. on Sunday, June 19. We were greeted at the front desk by a delightful young woman named Madison, who went above and beyond in making our stay a most pleasant one. The hotel itself is a bright and modern facility, well worth a visit.

We stayed here for a weekend trip to go fishing and hiking (Shenandoah National Park). The hotel is in a perfect spot - walkable to restaurants and shopping - Perfect! It was really nice having a couch in a non-suite room, just made it feel right. And we had a room with a balcony that looked out to the mountains!

This hotel was conveniently located to where we wanted to be during our trip passing through the area, however it was not the best of hotel experiences. The staff at the front desk was really good and helpful, however I had some opportunity with my stay. The toilet became stopped up and they could not locate a plunger (no maintenance person on duty), but none the less they finally located one and brought it up to my room. I was unable to get it unstopped and was asked to bring it back downstair... Read more

Was headed on down Interstate 81 the next morning, the traffic from New York to Harrisonburg had been horrible due to constant road construction. I just wanted to lie down and go to sleep!! I walked in, checked in very quickly and went straight to my room. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and I slept like a baby. All of the things I needed. I've stayed here before on my way home. It's always clean, the people always nice and professional. The hotel is very convenient to lots... Read more

We stayed here for one night, in town to watch the Superregionals. Very close to JMU with eateries all around. Room was very comfortable and clean. Check in was smooth. My only issue was that the vanity was extremely small and it was awkward leaving our toiletries there. Not significant with a one night stay but maybe would become inconvenient with a longer stay. I would recommend and stay again for the right rate.

This hotel was ok I just didn't feel like it was a good value for what I spent. We were on the first floor and it was quiet. We had adjoining rooms which was exactly what we asked for, that was really great. The hotel has a gorgeous view and a nice lobby. It is in a great location in walking distance to a Walmart and a lot of restaurants and close to a great playground. There is a small pool with a Jacuzzi. The fold out couch in the bed room was nice, but the rooms are super small and ther... Read more

Lotta mold in the bath, hair (don't ask) in the tub, ice bucket with an inch of water left in it. A vanity so small there was no room for both our toiletries. In general, "tired" furnishings and decor. Very disappointed in a brand I've used many times.

Stayed here one night for business. Mikel checked me in very nice employee. Since I came in here last week he already knew what type of room I wanted and also recognized me as a marriott member. Very friendly staff. Day the breakfast cashier was very friendly. My server John Richards was very pleasant and quick to serve and got my food very fast with no issues whatsoever. Was very satisfied with both breakfast and and my overall stay. I will be back here in 2 days and looking forward to it..

I visited the Courtyard and decided to stay there while moving my freshman daughter into JMU. I have never stayed at a hotel in Harrisonburg before so was looking for a place to consider home while visiting. Upon arrival (very late) I was greeted by a nice young man, Hunter, who was very helpful and full of information. I felt like even knowing I was from out of the area he went above and beyond to see that I was cared for. The Courtyard also has an awesome breakfast and housekeeping staff. I wi... Read more

The room was clean and comfortable, although no safe for valuables (note - if your belongings ever get stolen, insurers will not cover you if you are in a hotel, previous experience). Useful things like guest laundromat, shop and coffee area, and kids loved the swimming pool, and there was a decent gym. I arrived with 2 small children asleep at 11pm. Help was minimal and fairly begrudging from the night staff, despite a friendly receptionist. When asked for help with luggage from the car, he... Read more

This hotel is OK. Clean, comfortable, but the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Our group was not put in the system as a group and each room had to registered individually. It took 30 minutes to do what should have been 5 minutes. We were told we had a choice of a continental breakfast for $11.00 or a full breakfast for $13.00. Turns out it's an individual "to order" breakfast rather than a buffet. Starbucks has a contract with them so if you want something as simple as coffe... Read more

My family recently stayed here for a JMU visit. We arrived very late and went right to the room to sleep. The room smelled a little musty and the ac was a little loud, but the beds were very comfortable- perfect. The only thing I would have liked was maybe free coffee and tea in the morning in the lobby-it can't cost that much and would have made such a difference - it seems that it is standard in almost all hotels- and I can't see why a courtyard wouldn't have it.

Nice views of the mountains and JMU. Ideal location to JMU and downtown Harrisonburg. Easy access to the interstate. Staff is attentive, nice, and always smiling. Modern hotel with a bistro that offers meals at certain times for a fee. No free breakfast. They have great food and drinks and is worth dining in instead of finding a restaurant in town. Our son plays jazz at Jmu and that Friday concert brought us up on a football weekend with sold out hotel. This team runs a clean, quiet and very comfortable hotel. Large room. Very quiet room and again - they were sold out. We expected some noise. Nope. Good heating and cooling and the TV worked. Really what more did we need. Thanks for a very comfortable night's stay.

We stayed here following a band competition at JMU. The facility is very convenient to the campus and lots of restaurants (and a Walmart) are close by. I do wish that Marriott offered breakfast at the Courtyards the way they do at their other brands. The Bistro (for fee) option is just not working for me. Also, in the king room we had, the tv was hard to see from one side of the bed because of the large piece of furniture where the microwave is stored. The bed was very comfortable though, ... We chose this hotel based on review comments of "quiet", "comfortable beds", and "lovely view of the mountains". We found all to be true. The only problem we encountered was loud talking and smell of cigarette smoke coming from next door. We called the front desk, and they responded immediately to correct the problem, which they did. The room was pleasant and smelled very nice. Would visit here again.

We stayed here on our way to West Virginia. The hotel is easy to get to off the interstate and very close to James Madison University. We got there in early afternoon so we had plenty of time to hike the JMU Campus. 4 mile trip to the stadium and back. The campus is gorgeous. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean. Rooms on the front side of the hotel offer a great view of the Shenandoah Valley. Sit on the balcony and share a glass of wine.

I was looking for a place to get away and play video games during the Blizzcon event as I had missed tickets to the real thing. My main concern was consistent and reliable internet. The free wifi averaged around 100k/s, but the $4.95/day enhanced internet was steadily at 5.9 MB/S, which was perfect for me. The room was spotless, the staff courteous and it was super quiet - perfect for an introvert like myself :D Also, there was practically everything within two blocks of the hotel (Dominos, Wa...
