I was in town for a show at the Coliseum recently and this hotel provided a nice getaway from home. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I didn't have a chance to use the pool or fitness center but both also looked nice and the breakfast was actually pretty good! I will definitely being staying here again when visiting the area!

I stayed one night here for business. The hotel is a bit dated and is clearly used as a stop for traveling construction crews, which was evident by the 20 bucket trucks and contractor trucks in the parking lot. The room was small and poorly cleaned. Floors were dirty, bathroom barely cleaned. I was told that this hotel was updated, but clearly that was mostly spent on the lobby which is nice, but mostly cosmetic updates done in rooms. With the impressive mall and stores nearby, I would have hope... Read more

Room is nice, got a suite which is roomy and comfortable. Here's the part that bugs me. First they claim to have high speed Internet. Not so much. I checked the speed three different times and it was dismal. No faster than 1 mb on the download and upload speeds were non existent. Second, I have a kitchenette with two plates and no utensils. Either take away the plates or add utensils. Pretty much useless to have this if it isn't adequately stocked. Third, I left a bag of trash leaning a... Read more

I'm a frequent user of the HI Express chain. While the staff was excellent and the breakfast matched everything I expected, found this property disappointing due to the incredibly tiny rooms. The closet turned out to be an elevated cabinet hanging on the wall -- too short to hang a pair of pants full length, and inaccessible between cabinet and the bed. One had to open the door part way, then step to the center of the cabinet to move clothing in/out. The space between tv stand and the bed was si... Read more

We were pleasantly surprised by the new look...very nicely appointed room (we had a king w/sofa), not crowded, and very comfortable. Check in was fast and friendly. The lobby and breakfast room was clean and stylish with a convenient business center. Very nice and not overly expensive...will stay again!

After a full day at Busch Gardens, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for one night. The staff was very accommodating to get us in a room after another hotel cancelled our reservation. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The property was quiet and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was standard HIE, but the eggs were not the best. Overall, a good stay for a very economical price. Definitely would stay here again.

My 6th floor room was in really excellent condition. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of storage in the dresser and the wardrobe. The desk chair was more comfortable than the easy chair. The bathroom was in perfect shape, clean, bright, well appointed. The air conditioning was on the loud side but did not interfere with my sleep. The wi-fi was unusable (the data rate was slower than the 4G connection on my phone), I ended up turning it off. The continental breakfast seemed a little... Read more

The hotel was clean and well kept. The front desk was very helpful and the breakfast was the best we have had at a HIE.Although we did not use either the pool and fitness center looked very nice. The business center looked very modern and easy to use also.

The hotel is clean, in great location, across the street from shopping dining & entertainment. The staff is professional kind attentive & friendly. After using several hotels in the area for many years I plan to be a permanent fixture at this hotel any time I'm in the area. The hotel is great for groups because the staff goes above and beyond to make sure the experience is exceptional. The staff planned & prepared a bbq for the guests over the weekend. The staff provided information for other ... Read more

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express near the Coliseum and enjoyed an excellent visit. We were in town for a summer collegiate baseball tournament and decided to stay a second night. The front desk staff were so accommodating and worked with us to get everything set up. Very courteous and required very little wait time for checking in, changing our reservation and checking out. The motel was very clean and the housekeeping staff members were so friendly. As we were entering and exit... Read more

Since getting the IGH credit card and becoming a Ihg rewards member I've been greeted as a platinum elite member and had my butt kissed a little, but not here. Don't get me wrong the girl at the desk was super friendly and really nice but the hole ihg butt kiss thing was out the window. No butt kissing from any of the staff here. As we came back and forth from the entrance during the day new people were at the desk and not even a how are you today. Don't get me wrong I'm not looking to get my bu... Read more

The Holiday Inn Express is near Route 64. It was clean and nice. The breakfast had many options and the lady preparing the food was so sweet. The security of the building was good. I would stay there again.

I stayed two nights for business; the hotel is clean and well maintained. The best part: fantastic customer service. From the front desk staff, to the housekeeping staff, to the dining staff, to the maintenance staff--all outstanding. I thought that this kind of customer service was an anomaly for Abingdon, VA where I stay routinely...I was wrong. Holiday Inn Express isn't typically my first choice but I have to admit that they are doing an excellent job wowing me and the staff here more than li... Read more

The stay at this hotel really made an unpleasant business trip much more enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone any day! They were so accommodating to my situation I just couldn't ask for anything more! The general manger was excellent and managed her staff extremely well. All members of the staff were very courteous. Regina with the breakfast staff stuck out the most for me. She really cared about her job and the people staying there- best personality ever - deserves a raise!! Very c... Read more

It's the perfect location: on a major blvd, near the mall and near restaurants. It is also a 10 min ride to HU's campus. Check in was very easy even though late in the evening. The room had two double beds and everything you need: blow dryer, toiletries, fridge, iron and board. Even free WIFI was quick. The ac unit was noisy even when on low. One of the outlets on the bedside lamp did not work. Despite those little things, I slept well and showered even better. Breakfast was a great spre... Read more

Me and my college buddies were all in town for Hampton University's Homecoming and I must say the staff here played a part in making the weekend special. Starting with the excellent service from the manager Donna Frazier who greeted us and made us feel like family and trickling down to her front desk staff Sharon and Cheena, the experience was A1. I will definitely look to stay here first when booking in Hampton #HUHC16 Thanks for the tix Donna -JA

After a very long day of things not going as planned while my daughter and children were moving, she and I decided a hotel was in order this past Friday night. Rooms were difficult to find in the Hampton area, so I went with the chain that both my husband and I know and love: Holiday Inn Express. In my rush to get a room booked before nothing was available (we found out after checking in it was because it was the local university's homecoming), I forgot to put my name, instead of my husband's on... We were in town for Hampton University's Homecoming. After being dissatisfied staying at other hotels closer to the University, my expectations were low. However, Sharon and Regina went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Sharon was very friendly and helped us with game tickets. At a discount! The staff paid attention to the details: chocolates in the room that were wrapped with the weekend's Homecoming activity schedule; a reception was in the lobby that included cookies, crackers, che... The hotel is in a very nice location right off I-64 in Hampton, VA. It's near the Hampton Coliseum and the Hampton Roads Convention Center. I stayed here for one night on November 3rd for nekocon at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. The room was great but the noise from Mercury Blvd was a bit too much at night. It sounded like everyone in Hampton racing up and down Mercury for most of the night. The pillows suck they were way too soft which was my fault for not bring my own. Overall it ... Read more

I had the opportunity to stay here for a week while working in the local area and had a great experience. The front desk staff is extremely accommodating and helped me to correct an issue I had with my business travel card on the reservation. The rooms are nicely accommodated with a queen bed, desk and chair, love seat and coffee tables. The table stand has a mini fridge and microwave, while the wardrobe is nicely designed for travelers. The carpet and bathroom felt a bit dated, but weren't un... Read more
