This hotel is located on the edge of a strip mall, next to a supermarket. The hotel itself was nice enough but the area was strange. At check-in, both available front desk representatives assisted a customer who didn't appear to have a reservation, or if she did, had decided she needed a different type of room. Regardless, we waited about 15 minutes for a front desk representative to see to our check in. We were staying as guests of a wedding party, as I'd mentioned during my phone booking, e... Read more

Perfect for long or short term stay. Impeccably clean and staff is top notch. Rooms are spacious, bed is perfect, and bathroom area is spacious and spotless. Parking is close and well lit. Everything you would expect from a Hyatt. Breakfast is wonderful as well as 24 hr ability to get anything you need.

Practically new and easy to get to. Large, very comfortable rooms! It was a last minute Memorial weekend stay. Booked a king, but gave us 2 queen room. Wouldn't upgrade us to a suite, even if we paid extra. Rooms were clean. Hotel is new. Staff didn't seem very well trained in customer service everywhere we went. So if you just need a convenient place to stay with a lot of restaurants near by, it's a great location. Business travelers will might be disappointed in the center but love the vari... Read more

We were on our way back from South Carolina and decided to stop at our halfway point which was Virginia. I found this hotel online and booked it before we got there. The hotel is located across from the Mary Washington University. There really isn't a parking lot , you would park in the adjacent shopping plaza lot. But, its safe and constantly monitored by security. The front desk clerks were superb! Very pleasant and professional. When we got to our room we were pleasantly surprised. I immediat... Read more

Hotel is in a great location, especially for visits to University of Mary Washington, but it's nothing special. People are nice and the rooms are clean but almost spartan. The free breakfast was poor, very poor. They put hot food and let it sit for long periods. And the biscuits were inedible. The hotel is also pricey compared with other places in the area. We were charged a "special" price, which was $75 a night higher, because of UMW's graduation - that's not my definition of special.

Room was one of the better-decorated and furnished I've been in, with king bed and sofa. I was using the hotel as a base for meetings, so I didn't spend much time in the hotel, but the staff were friendly, the free breakfast was outstanding, and the location keeps the hotel just out of the DC area traffic on 95. My only quibble was the shower water pressure, which was practically non-existent.

Had a quick overnight stay with family. Check in was fast and courteous, room was very clean and comfortable! Beds are wonderful with nice plush pillows. My only disappointment was the complimentary breakfast was over at 9:00 am. We missed it...I guess the beds were just too comfortable...didn't want to get up!!

Left my room this morning (6-10) around 7:30 am. Returned at 5:30 pm. Found my room blocked open by the dead bolt with no staff anywhere on the floor. Fortunately no one was in my room. The only thing missing was my iPhone charger. It could have been worse, my suit case containing a number of valuables could have been taken. Or worse someone could have been hiding in my room. I called the front desk only to encounter a total disregard for the security implications. They did want to know if a... Read more

It's a good option for anyone wanting to be near Mary Washington or downtown Fredericksburg. Our room was clean and the font desk staff was very nice. The hot breakfast had good options, including eggs, sausage, French toast, and a variety of coffees. There are a couple restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance.

Our stay was during a college visit to University of Mary Washington. Our room was extremely clean with a nice trendy decor. The fact that the room with 2 queen beds had a sitting area with a sectional was a bonus! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Check in at the Hyatt was efficient and professional but I wouldn‚??t call it overly friendly. It was a speech the receptionist had clearly said several times (I heard the exact speech, word for word, on another client). Parking is free. There didn‚??t seem to be any porters but we managed. Location is right next to the university and close to a plaza. Our room was a King corner room with couch, desk, fridge, closet, two windows, etc. The room, although on the small side, was really nice (gre... Read more

We were passing through and just needed a place to stop. I've stayed at Hyatt Places before, but this one was a bit different. It's a little ways off the highway and closer to the college. The hotel is in a large shopping area (not a mall) that includes a grocery, a coffee shop and lots of other things, all in walking distance. The hotel was fairly new and in great shape.

The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. The hotel has a very modern flair to it, which is not necessarily my favorite, especially since there was only a shower in the bathroom, but it's a great place to stay if you're visiting UMW because it's within walking distance and also not far from the historic district of Fredericksburg. Breakfast was really good too, with a nice variety of fresh fruit, prepared food, yogurt, cereal, etc., and there is also a nice coffee/tea bar.

Everything was perfect for our stay. The rooms were roomy and clean. The staff was very friendly and responsive. My kids enjoyed the pool and the location was second to none for visiting The University of Mary Washington. The school was in easy walking distance and it was in easy walking distance to a shopping and other restaurants too. We have visited Fredericksburg several times in the past to visit UMW, but this was the first time that we stayed at the Hyatt. If it's available, we will stay t... Read more

My visit to Fredericksburg, VA at the Hyatt Place was wonderful. I had a guess visiting and we were able to get to downtown resturants and shopping so easly. We were not far from the movies and other entertainment. We wer able to travel to Richmond or Washington, DC quickly and return to the peace of the historic Fredericksburg,VA. The Hotel was clean and peaceful. In addition, spaceous and meet all our needs...even a late night snack was available! Definately coming back!!!!!

We booked this stay at the last minute during a road trip up the coast and we could've not been more pleased. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast in the morning was excellent. We were also impressed when, during checkout, a staff member made extensive notes of a few minor problems in our room (bolt not locking, etc.) with the apparent intent of fixing them immediately. Highly recommend!

Rooms are spacious and modern with a frig and nice size tv. Relax in the indoor pool or workout in the well equiped fitness center for this size hotel. Close to a shops and eateries.

The Hyatt Place provided these three needed items: #1 Location. #2 Location. #3 Location. Chosen because of the Location. Will suggest that the Travel Booker go out of there way to consider that this Hotel , with its well placed location is Booked if at all possible because of its service and Location, Location, Location.

We were splitting up our road trip and needed a place to sleep for the night. The room was SO clean, sleek and modern. Definitely enough towels and soaps. I was surprised at how roomy it was (a semi-separated "sitting area" with a couch). Fridge worked really well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Although we didn't need it, it was nice to see the hotel provides items like toothpaste if you forgot it.

I would have preferred to stay in the historic district in downtown Fredericksburg and in a bed and breakfast type accommodation. However, this was a last-minute booking and everything in town was booked, even one of the larger hotels. I'd say the Hyatt Place was a good choice all around for our family of three. Two queen sized beds AND a sofa bed and a free breakfast that had a decent selection of food was available in the morning. We were definitely comfortable and happy with our choice.

I drove up from Richmond for a family reunion. Although only 55 miles away, I was unsure about traffic, and wanted to have a place to stay the night before to guarantee I would make it on time. Check in was quite a headache. I had reserved two hotel rooms under my name, 1 for me and 1 for my sis. I had used my father's credit card and presented it to them at the desk. They would not accept it, even though my father approved the bookings. We offered to have him fax or call in his signature, and t... Read more

My husband had open heart surgery a couple of years ago. We live about 45 miles away from the hospital. I wanted a place to stay that was very close to where he was being cared for. The Hyatt was practically brand-new the, very modern, but very attractive. The room was great and the restaurant had food and drinks available downstairs. After driving for 8 hours we found this gem on trip advisor, the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and smelt lovely. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to anyone, wether it's just a person or family. They serve an included breakfast which varies from pastries, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, waffles, eggs, grits, and cereal. Of course coffee and tea.

Typically we choose Hyatt hotels when we go out of town and this hotel did not disappoint. Newer. Modern. Right next to grocery stores and restaurants. Right near University of Mary Washington University and hospital. Overall great stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was okay nothing and more than we've had at other Hyatt chains. If in Fredricksburg again we will choose this Hyatt.

My fiance and I were in town for a wedding and weeks ago had looked into what hotel to stay at. After looking through photos, reviews, and pricing, we decided that the Hyatt seemed to be the best value with the best comfort, and it DEFINITELY didn't disappoint. First, after our long 6 hour drive the check in was very quick and easy, with the staff explaining all we needed to know. Afterwards we went to our room and it was very nice. I stayed here for a wedding, so I didn't use many of the amenities. However, this place had all of the essentials I look for: hot, clean modern shower, comfortable bed and pillows and 24 access to made to order food. You have to come down to the front desk to get it, but you can get it any time. The front desk was very friendly, although it did seem like there was a lot of training and new staff there. I was here for my wedding and for sure I felt treated like a queen that day. I really loved working with Heidi to book all the accommodations for my wedding weekend. We were in town for a wedding; the room was quite workable for four adults (2 Queens), as it had a corner couch with large footstool (separated from the sleeping area) which made the room feel very spacious and workable. Great free breakfast option.

I thoroughly enjoyed my brief 2 night getaway and stay at the Hyatt Place- Mary Washington site. The staff was friendly and the room and hotel condition was impeccable. I will definitely stay again! The location was convenient to major highways, and in a beautiful shopping area which was very safe and put my mind at ease. I rested peacefully without hearing noises from other rooms or guests, overall great stay!
