We chose this Clarion after an 8 hr drive from SC, based upon a competitive, on-line price as well as decent reviews & close proximity to I 95. I would have given the Clarion a higher rating based solely upon cleanliness & sleep quality, however, there were too many things lacking to deserve a better score. The good: 1). I had requested a non-smoking, King room in a quiet location. This was acknowledged. We were given a king room in the back of the building, away from the 6-lane highway t... Read more

Room was clean and it had all it needed, I was traveling with 2 family members and 2 dogs and it was fairly quiet, I actually think our dogs were the loudest thing there. The In Room coffee was horrible but that is okay, we just got in so late that I didnt have a chance to bring my usual coffee from the road. The room had TV, fridge and a shower which was either ice cold or scolding hot, there was no in between. The free breakfast was located in the restaurant and was a bit disappointing, NO ... Read more

My husband and I stayed there for a night while making our rounds to local battlefields. Upon checking in to our room, which was to be non smoking, the odor of smoke was so bad, it was almost unbearable. We were willing to tolerate it for the night, however, the privacy curtain was missing from our room so passers by could see right in. Needless to say we asked for a different room. The woman at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. We move to a new room and everything was fine. We dec... Read more

Room was clean and nice for a budget hotel. Our room had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. The vanity had two sinks which was awesome for two women sharing the room. The best part of the free breakfast was that it was free. Very unappealing set up and no server in the room except once each time to collect tickets. Last morning there was no coffee. Indoor pool was surrounded by tattered flags and plastic plants that looked dead. In summary, the room and maid service exceeded expectat... Read more

I stayed here on May 14th and checked out on May 15, 2016. I was in town to run the 1/2 marathon race. Overall, my stay was very good. The bed was very comfortable and the gift for the runners at check-in was very thoughtful. The cost for the stay was very reasonable and I will recommend this inn for future travelers. Thank you Clarion!!!

There are two nice pools. One inside and one outside. The inside pool is heated the outside was very cool. We enjoyed the pools! There is a nice lounge to sit and just enjoy. Breakfast is included and the restaurant is nice for dinner. Within walking distance of many places to eat. Prefer the hotel restaurant.

My sister, myself and little girl checked into Clarion inn and was there for about an hour, hour and a half, left and went shopping came back and our room smelled like bug spray. There were kids outside cussing and yelling. Went to the front desk and the lady there said that she could transfer me to another room, thing is that room was right by the kids that were yelling and cussing! Ended up checking out and going to a different hotel. The stay there, for the time we were there, which was all t... Read more

My family and I booked 3 rooms after a long drive from Florida to NY. The rooms were fair. The hotel lobby is grungy and the adjacent bar smells like cigarette smoke. Breakfast is included in your price but we skipped it. The parking is limited and you may not be close to your room. We also saw several locals walking around.

We did have a slight issue with an overcharge. The lady at the desk was powerless to fix it. It wasn't until I called during business hours and spoke with a manager that they resolved it after she learned that I review every hotel I stay at. The charge was then refunded. As for the Hotel... It was a nice place, a little dated but functional. The two pools were really practical. One indoor and one outdoor, which was great. The hotel staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast was good, but co... Read more

The hotel staff was friendly and courteous upon our arrival. After entering our room, we found it to be fairly satisfactory. Some of the furniture was worn, but it did, indeed, seem clean. It turned out that the air conditioner wasn't functioning properly, and although we decided not to change rooms, it got to be quite stuffy in there! The breakfast buffet was adequate, but had only bagels, toast, biscuits, cereal...no sausage, bacon, etc... Still, what do you want for free??? It did the j... Read more

We booked this room at 11:30 at night, it was as far as we could drive. The hotel was nice, the rooms were clean and the shower was hot. So it served all our needs. The free breakfast is lacking meat but was much better than most free breakfast. It was easy to get to and food and shopping are close by.

We stopped for a one-night visit on a road trip. The staff was friendly, courteous, and very helpful. Our room had a king-size bed and I loved it because it even had a exercise bike in the room angled towards the TV. I didn't even have to leave the room to exercise. There is a adequate fitness center at the facility. The pool is a decent-size and clean. The breakfast was very plentiful. It was eggs, sausage waffles, pastries of different types, fruit juices, oatmeal, plenty included in the pric... Read more

This place has seen better days. There is plenty of parking and the Yak a Doos bar food was descent. Hey they are pet friendly which is why we ended up there. We had a reservation at another hotel close by and somehow missed that is was not pet friendly.

Room was far enough from the Yak A Doo club to offer good night's sleep. My wife and I shared a double bed as we were traveling with our kids. This can be an adventure, but the mattress in the room was up to the challenge. We slept very comfortably both nights which is somewhat unusual when we are not in your own bed. Hotel is showing some signs of age, but so am I. In fact, the hotel may be in better shape than I am :) When we arrived, there was a "No Vacancy" sign on the front door, but ... Read more

This location was a nightmare and very shady. We arrived at 3pm to check in and they processed our credit card and when we went the room it was still dirty from the precious guest. They said it was a busy previous night and they would find us a room. After 45 minutes of waiting we requested to just refund our credit card and we would stay elsewhere. Well they refused to process the refund stating we needed to talk to the manager who would not be in until the next day at 7am. We were forced t... Read more

On our way home from Florida we booked reservations @ the clarion . We have never stayed in a clarion before. The lobby was ok, the check in women was very nice. We got to our room , appearance was ok , the tv, telephone and a/c did not work. Called front desk from our cell phone to ask for maintenance she said he called out. We stopped here based on convenience to Interstate 95. We had a room on the first floor, which was quite comfortable. The a/c was working so well, that we were actually cold and had to turn it down. Our room was located where we could walk right on to the patio which was near the pool. We did not use the pool as we arrived a little too late, but it looked very inviting. We rented two communicating rooms for 3 adults and 4 children, and it worked very well for us. The staff is very friendly, the premises are clean, and the two pools are perfect for all ages. The buffet breakfast is on the budget side, but it was included in the room, and unlike many similar hotels, it was setup in a large dining room, which was perfect for the kids.

Our family stayed there for a night on the way to the Outer Banks. The place for very loud. We were originally given a wrong room with only 1 bed. There were numerous people outside their rooms smoking and drinking. We heard loud groups of people till early morning hours. When we arrived for breakfast around 7:30 AM there was nobody in the breakfast room; the floors near the service area were wet and dirty, there was no milk, juices were spilled and "hot" breakfast items were completely cold. A bit dated- formally a Holiday Inn ( new building next door) and still using old Holiday Inn bedding. Noisy air conditioner and variable hot water (better at weekend- barely tepid during week days) Room a bit smelly- seemed like someone with a pet had used it. Not an awful smell but definitely noticeable. Breakfast mediocre- especially if you don't like scrambled egg.

This Clarion Inn was overall quite nice. For smokers like ourselves, we were able to get a smoking room. Furniture a bit outdated but everything was very clean. Large room with a king size bed. We were on the first floor which was a plus, because there is no elevator to the second floor. Check in was quick and friendly. Great cocktail lounge that featured Kareoke the night we were there. We chose Clarion because of the high reviews for cleanliness. But when we walked into our room we both noticed a bad odor (like stale cigarette smoke even though we asked for a non-smoking room). After while, we didn't notice the smell. I used my sanitizing wipes to clean the sink counter and I picked up some dirt. The mattress was too hard and I woke up several times with my back, hips and legs hurting. Next morning we arrived for the comp. breakfast,at 8:45 am and there were no eggs and n... Read more

After a very long day of traveling, we found ourselves battling the Rt. 495 Washington DC beltway.
