Quiet, spacious room with comfortable amenities, a well equipped exercise room, and a varying, nutritious, tasty breakfast bar to start the day. Add to this a smiling, helpful staff, and you have what it takes to make work time away from home less stressful.

We have stayed over 16 times in the last 5 years at this location, our home away from home, while our son was preparing to attend and during his 4 years at George Mason University. The location to GMU is perfect, we were so blessed to have such a great place to stay during our many trips. Whether it was for touring the college, orientation, set-up/take-down of dorm room, Family Weekend or Sibling Weekend, our stays were always like coming to our second home. The staff always made us feel very w... Read more

This hotel/motel was well worth the price. The room was huge, bed was extremely comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was more than I expected. Hot and cold food as good as I have had at any hotel. There was one problem that I seem to encounter everywhere. The bathroom was not as clean as it should be. The was grit and some hair in corners and the shower corner.

The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk was not at Marriott's level, both a check-in and check-out - arrogant and not very efficient. Poor service spoils the rest. There are so many other properties in the Washington Dulles Airport area. Never in this one again.

Stayed at this hotel for three nights. It is very clean and the staff (all of them) were so accomodating! They have a great breakfast with a lot to choose from. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel!

Overall good stay. Staff was courteous and helpful. Hotel was clean and the internet speed was good. I did not like how the "manager's reception" one night was a food truck showing up (the meals otherwise were pretty great). On the good side, the staff was excellent. Zhala, Jody, and John were outstanding. They were especially knowledgeable about the local area, especially transportation. Also, the manager (Dave Wilson) was very accommodating with a specific issue I was having with my... Read more

The hotel is right down the street from George Mason University. The staff was great. We arrived at 3AM. The room was the best. The breakfast was included in the rate of the room and it was a full hot breakfast with real eggs, juice, waffles, milk and many more.

Fairfax is not known for tourists attractions thus hotels tend to me more business oriented. But this place stands out as a family oriented and wonderful hotel. We stayed here over a week between house closings. We had to extend our stay couple of time with no problems. Manager was awesome person who treated us like a neighbor since we actually were. Living in the same neighborhood. :) He provided the best possible rate. Gave us an excellent room and made sure to follow up to ensure everyth... Read more

We booked our one night stay here while we were on the road traveling from NJ to NC. It was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. We arrived fairly late, and it was easy to find, and the front desk staff was great. Our room was spacious, clean, had a great kitchen, and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was free wifi and breakfast was included. Wish we could've stayed longer, will definitely be our stop over during our trips up north.

We came down to see a country concert at jiffy lube live. When we arrived they told us they only had a handicap room available... Well... We LUCKED out! This room is spacious, modern, and even has stainless steel appliances, full size refrigerator etc! They serve free breakfast 7-10 and if you are a member of Marriott your stay will have a discount! So go online and become a member it's free! Honestly shocked when I saw the sitting room and kitchen! There's a desk for business, a swivel tv to wa... Read more

Following an unpleasant 4 hour drive in a rain storm, I was greeted by a smiling, friendly Zhala. She efficiently checked me in to the floor of my choice, inquiring about my trip. Upon learning of my drive, she advised that I had just missed the happy hour but "wait just a moment". She returned from the restaurant with wine and sent my off to my comfortable, clean room in good spirits. This hotel is conveniently located for business in Fairfax and I will stay here again. Thank you Zhala.

Our "spur of the moment" stay was incredibly relaxing! We stayed at this hotel on the way home to NC from NYC after I had brain surgery. We were attempting to make the trip in 1 day because I felt that it would be more comfortable at home plus I thought I would be really sore after 1 day in the car that having to go 4 more hours in a car the following day would just be miserable. But it was clear that my body was NOT going to allow us to do that. We found this hotel last minute & it was so pleas... Read more

This is a beautiful property, right on the corner of Route 123 and 50 in Fairfax Virginia. The rooms are stylish, clean, and well appointed. The breakfast buffet is on point; if you can't find something to your liking there, you must be very difficult! But the best part of this hotel is at service. The people are warm, friendly, and courteous. I had an awful situation where a flight got canceled due to thunderstorm activity. John at the front desk changed my reservation to the following day wit... Read more

Clean and friendly with a generous hot breakfast daily, The Residence Inn Fairfax City is a perfect spot to stay when visiting GMU campus. It is a 5 minute drive to campus. Special thanks to front desk staff, notably John, who went out of his way to be helpful and welcoming. There were, the weekend we stayed, many dogs in tow, and in residence at the hotel. While we never heard them in our room, it was disconcerting to enter the lobby at one point and have a large (though leashed) dog lunge, ba... Read more

I really enjoyed the stay. Everything is great. Only the cleaning lady can be nasty. The location is also good if you have a car. It is close to Washington DC and also other places in MD. One problem is that it can get very hot in Fairfax in August.

The Residence Inn at Fairfax City was the perfect place for our two week stay in northern Virginia. The king's suite was more than enough space for the two of us, and we loved the Inn the Mix community events! Our favorites were the grilled chicken sandwich night, tacos night, and Brie night! We will definitely be staying here again for future trips!

Complimentary daily breakfast included eggs, waffles, pastry, fruit, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, greek yogurt, regular yogurt, juice and coffee, WOW. Awesome suites â?? huge kitchen, nice sitting area and TV, comfortable bed, and great bathroom. The breakfast area was huge and the food was very good. Folks at the front desk were also awesome, checking and out were a breeze. The a/c was very quiet but the fridge did make a lot of noise but it was around the corner and far enough away from the bed so it didn't bother us.

We booked two rooms at this hotel from Saturday to Thurs. The hotel is very clean and contemporary. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. There are many restaurants in the area and so convenient to all the main attractions. The only complaint I have is after the rooms are cleaned, the housekeeper never close the doors completely even after we informed the front desk to make sure our room doors are closed and locked. We will go right into our rooms without using our keys. This happened... Read more

Stayed here on a visit to George Mason. Had special request due to allergies. John at the front desk was great. When I called he answered my questions and took notes before sending me to the reservation area. Much to my surprise when I checked out he had remembered our discussion and was genuinely concerned with our stay and making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Typical of Residence Inns, we had a small studio apartment for a room. King bed, sitting area and small kitchen. All was clean and need. The only problem we encountered was that air conditioning would not run while you were away, and needed room key in a slot to col the eperature down - not good when it has beeen a hot and humid day outside. I understand they at to be energy efficient, but do we really need to sit in a hot room for an hour when we come in?

This property is just what you would expect from Marriot. We love the Residence Inn room layouts. Everything was super clean and looked new. The people at the front desk were super helpful- Most notably "Evan" who helped us to extend our stay. He really problem solved for us and stayed in communication so that we could go enjoy our day and not wait around for an availability. Having previously stayed in Residence Inns, I was not surprised by the service, comfort and elegance of this hotel. As expected, the front desk staff welcomed us warmly, explained features and amenities of the property and made sure our reservation was in order. Our accommodations were roomy and very comfortable; the full breakfast appreciated. As a long-time Marriott guest, I expected what I received - a great lodging experience.

I was very impressed with this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. Also, it was very spacious with an eat in kitchen, full size fridge, desk and comfortable couch. The bathroom was very nice with a big shower with glass doors as opposed to a tub with curtain. I loved this. I stayed alone on the first floor and felt very safe. Bed was very comfortable and clean.

There are 3 problems holding this place back from getting a 5 star review 1) wifi in the lobby is strong but not in the rooms 2) shower pressure is a bit low 3) dinner service is not daily and is sometimes only desserts Other than that you have probably already read about the good room size and full kitchen etc - front of house staff seemed friendly too. Good choice in the area.
