This hotel could use a face lift. Staff was good but the rooms were old. Had a lack of hot water . They have the old direct tv which is not the norm for most Hilton properties. This hotels staff were great to help though .

Wonderful staff. The staff were very accomodating. They welcomed us withbwarmth and affection. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Great location. Plenty of dining options and easy access to the interstate.

I was on a business trip, one night stay. Hotel was clean and quiet, which are a must for me! My room was a deluxe King. It was more than I expected. A very large room and bath area. Separate area for fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. The bed was comfortable and bedding smelled fresh. The continental breakfast was as expected from the Hilton flag.

We chose this hotel as a stay over on our way from Myrtle Beach to NJ. The staff person at check in was excellent and check in was a breeze. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfy and although it was busy on this Saturday night, we heard no noise at all in our room. We stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn for a golf tournament in VA Beach. We've stayed at Hilton Garden Inn at a number of other locations and this one is certainly not up to standards. The property is worn and in need of modernization. The carpeting and linens are old and dated. Many of the fixtures are broken and in need of repair. This hotel is convenient to shopping, the theater and restaurants. It is comfortable and clean. The breakfast is a buffet style with hot cooked to order eggs and waffles or pancakes. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again.

This HGI is definately showing its age. Older HVAC systems , older Direct TV. Its time Hilton did a remodel here. That said the staff were great , the breakfast was wonderful and the location could not have been better for being in the Newport News , Virginia Beach, Norfolk area. Tons of things to do within 20-60 mins.

This was a mini stay vacation for my kids and I. It was a little pricey considering the breakfast is not included and there is no outdoor pool. The breakfast was terrible. It tastes bad and you had to pay for a continental style breakfast with a little extra.

I NEVER write a review, but after 50 days for an extended business trip I felt I had to comment. The hotel staff here is fantastic. The front desk was always attentive to my needs (extending my stay, mailing packages, receiving mail). The food staff were incredible. Horribly disappointed by our experience at this Hilton Garden Inn. When we checked into our room, there was debris on the carpet, hair all over the pillow and sheets on one of the beds. There was hair on the side and back of the bathtub, and on the shower curtain from someone who'd previously shaved! Nice hotel, staff was great and very helpful. Loved the location. Good breakfast that was not too expensive. Room was comfortable. Only issue was the curtain would not totally close over the window. Business Center came in handy as well!

Outdated and rooms in poor condition. Mattress was worn out and we rolled to the middle of the bed. Bathroom shower was moldy. I felt like I was staying at a Motel 6 from the 1990's. Staff was friendly.

A very nice stay at this hotel. Very quick check-in for 1 night stay with two rooms. Blocked next to each other as requested. Thank you. Staff was very friendly. Reviewed my HH Gold benefits for breakfast or points. Chose the points this time and went down the street to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Very close to other restaurants as well. Great rates and accommodations.

Stay here a LOT!! Like 20 weeks a year. Good staff, great breakfast staff. Comfy rooms. They provide a coupon for the local gym, but they do have a little work out room at the hotel that's ok. Hot tub could be a little better...it's sort of wimpy.

Loved my stay here - at the top of the list is how friendly they are. Everyone I've dealt with here has been very positive and kind.breakfast is very reasonable and is very good - from custom made omelettes to fresh fruit, breads, great bacon and also sausage, biscuits and gravy etc. Rooms are a little dated but nice and comfortable. Liked the pillows too. Thanks!

Have stayed at this hotel previously, always professional and courteous staff. Hotel if conveniently located near a wide variety of restaurants and place of business. Has a bar, restaurant with excellent chefs. Quiet and calming.

Room had very strong smell of deodorizer. Bed was not very firm and probably needs to be updated. Room was large but tv was very small for the distance from bed to tv. Lobby is clean and ok size workout room.

Hilton typically gets things right, but this property is old and run down. My original room was given away after checkin, my second assigned room was given away, my third room assigned had a broken AC, and my fourth room had an uncomfortable bed. Stay at the Homewood Suites next door or the Aloft by W and you'll be happy you did.

After requesting a room change due to a sunken in mattress, I found a room that was a total mess, unclean with urine still on the toilet seat and around the toilet area. Absolutely unacceptable. I drove 10 hours on a personal trip for a college graduation, only to experience this. It was by far, the worse service I have experienced at any Hilton I have stayed.

We were there for our wedding anniversary and were advised via email that we could upgrade our room for just $11.00 more. My coworker and I stayed on 2 different weekends for business. Her first room the first week had a broken AC. They "fixed" it the one day only to have it broken again when we came back from work the next day. She then had to change rooms. This hotel has a Beautiful lobby with an excellent staff. The location is near to mall and lots of other shopping and restaurants. If you are looking to travel to the beach, this location is not very far.

Very convientantly located near shopping and VA area attractions. Rooms were clean if a little dated. Spent a lot of time at the pool due to bad weather, and my 13 year old son appreciated the pool. Setup of the lobby/rooms was identifical to muliple Hilton Garden Inns I have stayed at in other cities, so if you liked those, you'd like this one.

The staff was very nice including housekeepting. Common areas were nice and the rooms had the refrigerator, microwave and Kuerig which was nice but I would like to see the bathrooms upgraded and the bedspreads. The beds were ok. Shower curtain had some mildew and the tub floor was dingy. Was not the Hilton quality I was use to even if it wasn't a full Hilton.

I stay at this hotel year after year and I am never disappointed. The staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated and include a mini refrig., Keurig machine with complimentary pods and a microwave. This is wonderful, especially when traveling with a toddler.

Excellent hotel ideally located and convenient to Norfolk Waterside (about 15 Min), Va Beach (about 20 Min), Norfolk Naval Base (About 25 Min) and Norfolk Airport (About 15 Min). Service was excellent for the entire stay. There is a restaurant and bar but don't expect a full menu. Breakfast is their best meal and very reasonable priced @ $10.95; especially when you consider they'll prepare your omelets and eggs for you. there's also a pretty good fruit bar.

I try to have reasonable expectations when I review something, I mean this is just a 3 star chain hotel. However, the room was not ready for us to check in even though it was after 3 pm and we had just been in the car for 15 hours. The beds are small but fairly comfortable. Checking in at this hotel, the front desk and the bar/restaurant area were disappointing due to the leaking air vents. Allowed to check in early and given the keys to the room, but when entering the room, I was given one that hasn't even been cleaned from prior guest use. We stayed for one night to break up a long drive. Our room was on the 4th floor. The door to our room did not close automatically, we had to pull it closed and push it open rather forcefully, which made for very noisy opening and closing. I was just thankful my kids are grown and I didn't have to get in and out of the room quietly. We received poor customer service from this hotel. Our check-in time was 4pm & we had to wait in the lobby for an hour before our room was ready. We were told they were "short staffed". They offered us breakfast for 2 but there were 4 in our party! Also, the pool was closed which we were not told on check-in. When we inquired we were told to use the pool at the hotel next door!

Unforntunatley this Hilton experience was average at best. Leaking faucet in room, broken shower handle, a closed pool for a period of time and not being allowed joining rooms as set in our reservations. Being a HH member and a HGVC member - one would think that there might have been some understanding why I was upset with the treatment during check in.

Have stayed here often for quick over night trips. Convenient location for my purposes, clean rooms, amenities were basic but fine. I have always found the staff.welcoming and helpful. Don't use many of the facilities as I am only in the hot to sleep

Nice clerks but bad outdated rooms. The AC unit in the room hardly worked. I have stayed at many Hilton Garden Inn's and this one is by far the worst. We were supposed to be there for 3 nights but checked out after 1 and went to another hotel down the street.

Overall the hotel is very pleasing to look at . The lobby area is well decorated and kept clean. The breakfast buffet was overpriced for what was offered, but Antoine the head cook greeted customer at their table to make sure their food was good ,and offered to redo anything that was not to their liking. We have stayed and several HGI hotels around the country. The staff at this hotel is one of the best that we have seen. We had a 6 day stayed and used almost all of the services provided. While looking for accommodations in the area, it was difficult to find a hotel with sufficient quality and the right price tag. I am so pleased to have found this hotel! It was clean (room and lobby area), staff was friendly, location was convenient for our travel purposes, and it didn't break the bank. Everything was "very good" and above!

The wife and I spent 4 days here at this hotel. I was located in a central business area with malls and bountiful restaurants. The hotel was clean, modern, and a very friendly staff. The room was clean, cool, and modern. We always stay at the Hilton Brands and we get the same experience every time. No problems, friendly staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. We had a positive experience and would go back to this location.

This hotel was very nice with an exceptional staff who went out of their way to make sure they were exceeding our expectations. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The location is fantastic. There are plenty of eateries and tons of shopping in the area. Everything is within a block or two of the hotel including a theatre.

The property has a run down feel for a Hilton. The breakfast was not free after it was advertised as such. Customer service was friendly and helpful. I will look for other Hilton hotels in the future.

After asking for a quite part of the hotel, we got put on the 2nd floor right above some outdoor tables where people sat and talked until 3 a.m. In the second suite, the smell of smoke and air freshener was SO bad that my daughter had to go and sit in the lobby on a couch all night! Great location and close to many places to eat. Rooms were nice, cleaned daily and the staff was very helpful. All reasons why I like Hilton Garden hotels. Very busy hotel and was full most nights had a church group having mass Sunday and the singing could be heard in much of the building but not in my room. Was a nice thing for the hotel to do for the community I thought.

The hotel had flooding problems from the hurricane Mathew and did everything possible to make my family and guest feel welcome and safe. The made box lunches and an improvised breakfast on 10/10/16. They did everything within there power to deal with the water damage the hotel experience and took care of my bill by reducing the room rate. I was completely satisfied with their efforts.

I booked a weekend stay in the king whirlpool suite for my boyfriends 35th birthday. The check in staff and the housekeeping were great. However, on arrival the kitchen staff ignored us for roughly 10-15 minutes at a time while they discussed cigarette breaks and EBT card purchases. The staff is pleasant, helpful and courteous and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Dinning is superb and you can dine in the dinning room or order room service. I highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.

Nice and recently upgraded. Hidden behind another hotel so a little difficult to find but the location is close to so much including shopping and dining. I did not eat the breakfast because it was not included and I did not receive complimentary water even though I am an Hilton Honors member.

The Staff went above and beyond when it came to service. They were attentive and friendly and helpful in everything. Best service at a hotel I have had in years. Every shift was perfect in this respect. Great job to the manager and the workers in all aspects!

I just stayed one night but enjoyed it very much. Hotel and staff were great, friendly, professional and efficient. Area near the hotel had plenty to offer in the areas of shopping and dining. Only bad thing was having to pay $10 or more for breakfast

I selected this hotel for convenience to a family member's location and by reputation and price. I was not displeased with any aspect of my stay. Everything about the experience from staff, to cleanliness to the free breakfast, and the price was excellent. When I could not get my TV to change channels my batteries were replaced immediately.

My friend & I stayed one night at this location which is very convenient to restaurants, shops & malls. Check-in (6ish) was a breeze, quick & easy. The front desk staff were friendly and informative. Our room was above our satisfaction with plenty of space not to feel overcrowded. I feel I need to mention the night clerk, Vernon, in particular. I have stayed in many hotels in that area and this is one of the best, the next door hotel is also excellent. Hats off to Melissa and Aaron managers at check-in. Really nice room quiet and spotless, nice bath too. All around a fantastic value too.

The staff is friendly and very accommodating. This is our second stay and we experienced an issue with the plumbing-since it was a 1 night stay we dealt with it. We had an excellent experience during our 1st stay. The location is great; walking distance to shopping, eateries. Will stay here again

Front desk staff here is great and rooms are good sized. Great location near to major highway and across from Chesapeake mall. Would stay here again when in the area. Checks all of the boxes, but has some road noise and walls are a little thin. overall good stay.

We stayed with our family for seven nights and were sad to leave. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating. A special shout out to Jasmin who served us breakfast on several occasions, nothing was too much to ask and we got service with a smile.
