The staff was awesome. The manager on duty the night of arrival provided a great experience and was very friendly. The guy who worked the breakfast bar in the morning was very friendly and nice to speak with as well. All the hotel staff smiled and said hello whenever you encountered them so 5 stars for the people. The room not so much. The bathtub couldn't be shut off all the way so it just dripped which was not only wasteful but also unsanitary looking. The room must have just been wet vacced... Read more

The mattresses in this Hampton Inn were extremely hard. The major reason we stay in Hampton Inns is that the mattresses are soft enough for my wife. She had to place pillows on the hard mattress to be comfortable. The room had a musty smell upon arrival and only became acceptable after several hours of air conditioning. The breakfast and breakfast service was good, however. The disco band next door kept us awake until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Hampton Inn should sue the disco ba... Read more

Overall room was on the small side. Pre-check in was helpful. Although we said we had 3 adults, the initial room was 1 Queen so I fixed this on pre check in. My online pre-booking was 2 Queen room as well. The room was clean although a dirty towel was left on the back of the door in the bath room.

On Friday and Saturday nights, we found out on Sunday morning that there is a nightclub on the north side of this hotel with a LOUD band. If staying weekends request a room on the south side of this hotel, or just be hard of hearing.

We only stayed one night. The room was clean. There was a bit of rust in the bathroom around the shower stall and need a bit TLC. The pool was enclosed on the first floor that was nice since didn't have to go outside. Breakfast, continental and had a good variety.

We drove straight from Orlando, FL due to our daughter having our grandson. Not knowing the area (had never visited prior to this) we arrived at 9:30pm with no reservation hoping we would be able to get a room. We were greeted by a smiling face (I think her name was Billy) as we explained that we needed a room for 3 until Saturday (it was Wednesday). She explained that they were almost sold out due to some type of military thing going on. At this point we told her we would just take a room for t... Read more

My first night in to VA beach area I flopped at M6 because I just couldn't drive any more. It was as expected-scary. I made sure to upgrade for the next two nights, and found Hampton Inn Greenbrier nearby. Wonderful improvement. The hotel is not brand new, but it is clean and well appointed; like a Residence Inn, but 3 years older, and 65% the cost. Rooms were great, roomy, and had good free WIFI that ran at 2MB/s. I accidentally left a bottle of champagne in the fridge after checking out, and... Read more

Great hotel for the price, only minutes from the beach. Local restaurants are close by, and the exit is easy access from a major road. The staff was helpful and the breakfast bar was fully stocked. The outdoor pool was convenient to the hotel. Parking was also available close to the hotel.

This hotel is just ok. It can use some updating of the rooms and halls. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. They go out of the way to make the best of your stay. The hotel has a general musty smell, but the rooms are clean. Not general what you expect from a Hampton as the hotel need updates, but it is clean and the staff is really nice.

The hotel is clean, staff is friendly. Just a couple of details that could be cleaned up to bring it up a notch. The location is very convenient. It's an older location but they do a good job. The beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are quite small but it's not like you're going to be staying in there.

I usually stay at Hampton Inns which I find are excellent basic with good quality but the Hampton Inn Norfolk/Chesapeake (Greenbrier Area) was more than double the cost of any Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at. The hotel was clean with a convenient location. The beds were very comfortable. Want breakfast? Go early! They begin removing food and start cleaning at 9:45am even tho their signs state Breakfast is served thru 10 am. The pool was nice though lacked ambience. It overlooks the parking lot. We watched a movie....the price was quite high $17.99 was the stated amount when we ordered. I guess the Hotel adds a charge because they charged us $25.99. I would definitely say it was very misleading.

Sign outside says friendly staff, clean rooms. Didn't have much interaction with the staff since I use online checkin, so can't comment on that. The hotel needs renovation. Broken laminates, shower was missing one soap dish, and remnants of double sided sticky tape were left as a reminder of a failed repair. Most easily fixed was the place is just plain dirty. I stay at a Hilton about every other week. This one was full and no vacancy. This is probably the reason things were a bit hectic. It was clean, and the people were very nice, however I experienced things I have never seen at a Hampton Inn.
