Everything looks new and modern. There is a lovely outdoor patio with a gas fireplace and lots of soft cushioned chairs. Very pleasant on a warm Spring night. There is not enough that can be said for the great customer service provided by the hotel staff. Yes, the property is very nice and very well maintained, but the staff will win you over every time you stay. I believe any member of the staff could give lessons on wonderful customer service. Did a quick overnight stay in Charlottesville for a conference at UVA. This place was very nice and a great choice. The lobby was very clean and modern. There was an awesome gas fireplace out on the patio with comfortable furniture and a door to the indoor pool right there. The fitness center is great and the service was friendly and helpful. Upon check-in, they gave me two cold bottles of water for the evening. Nice! As far as the room, I had a King Suite and I was very pleased. Great amenitie... Read more

My husband and I traveled from NC to adopt a newborn, the dates we originally booked were null and void when baby came 3 weeks early. Hotel staff and managers handled everything and even though we didn't get the suite we originally booked....we were very satisfied with the suite they made available. They even had a pack n play set up in the bedroom, which was so thoughtful. The suite was well equipped, spacious, and VERY clean. Great experience!

Staff, room and environment were very nice. We have stayed in several hotels in the area, and this one was one of the best. Know that the complementary breakfast ends at 10:00. We can down at 10:00, after checking out of our room, to find breakfast packed up and gone. We will be back!

Fundamentally the Homewood Suites is a business chain and this property certainly sees its bread buttered by the business crowd. Prices are good considering... exercise facilities, pool, basketball court, bar-b-ques, breakfast (it's ok but geez oh man when are these places going to get away from those awful "scrambled" eggs? They are the worst), "dinner" with gratis beer and wine (the food was acceptable considering it was free, with the salad probably being the stand out), rooms with fully load... Read more

We normally stay at Hampton Inns. I wanted to use points and (maybe because of a UV football game) all the Hilton group hotels in the area were booked up except Homewood. Location is about 15 minutes from downtown - the hotel has a free shuttle service but be careful - if you call them to pick you up, remember to ask how long. This is a relatively new structure on the edge of a shopping precinct about 5 miles from the center of town. It is typical of its class of 'extended stay' lodging. They do provide breakfast and light refreshments, wine and beer in the early evening. Service was as expected. One minor problem was the hot water situation in the evening. Unless you let the tap run for 5-10 minutes the water was only lukewarm. That is a bit strange for a new building.
