I was a little hesitant about staying here based on previous, even recent reviews, but I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean and updated, the bar/restaurant was great to have and the two front desk staff that I interacted with: Mike and Ali, were true customer service professionals. To break it down: Room - two double beds, included pillows with both 'soft' and 'firm' embroidered on the case was a nice touch, tv, fridge and microwave, also nice considering we were there for a wine... We stayed here as we were passing through. This hotel is in a great location if you want to visit Monticello. The front desk staff were friendly enough and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast we had in the morning was nothing special. It was on par with the breakfast you get at Holiday Inn Express but this one you have to pay for.

This property is finishing up a nice renovation. The rooms are fresh. Good bar. And for restaurant food the in hotel restaurant is acceptable. The common areas are very attractive. Fairly good selection of TV channels to watch. Pretty close to downtown Charlottesville and the UVA. 10 minute drive to some good restaurants. I'll come back.

We stayed in the middle of their renovation, but the staff was very friendly & did their best to make us comfortable. The room was fine, and no noise from the road nearby or from construction. We would stay here again.

I liked the staff here immensely. Without exception they were friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable but the hotel is close to the interstate and rooms at the back get the full noise of traffic and in addition my room was near the lift which is also noisy when in use. If travelling through the city the location is an advantage but if visiting the university as I was it is miles away and a taxi needed to get anywhere really with ease. Food was good however and the hotel is great... Read more

This recently renovated hotel apparently needs renovation. The room was comparable to a lower value and yet they charge a higher premium. The sofa was ready to be burned, the carpet was full of horrible stains, the floors mopped with a dirty mop and the bed sheets were nubby and wrinkled. All unacceptable but they were happy to check me out and thank me despite my complaint. I recommend the alternate Holiday Inn in Charlottesville. I also add that I am a fan of Holiday Inn, a member of IHG and... Read more

We stayed during the renovation and had no difficulty with negotiating around the blocked off areas where the work was taking place. The food is great and the staff were very kind and helpful. We were located away from the freeway, so if there is a noise issue on that side we cannot comment. We were in a very quiet and comfortable room. Very convenient to Monticello and Downtown Charlottesville, both were easy to access from the motel.

This hotel was just what I needed after a long day of traveling. First off, it was the fastest check in I have ever experienced! The staff was warm, friendly and accommodating. The ambiance of the lobby was modern, chic and it was very clean. The hotel also has a restaurant which looked very nice, although I did not get a chance to eat during my stay. I did use the small snack bar in the lobby, which is available for 24 hours and the prices are reasonable. The room was beautiful! It was clean... Read more

Super clean and friendly staff. Nice pricing. My only complaint is that since we are here for a wedding we have meals as a large group and the wait staff and management seen over whelmed with 8 of us. The food was great though. Asking to put tables together seems more like a hassle then the restaurant making more money. Tip is included in the bill which is nice honestly. I would come back and recommend this hotel. I. Enjoyed the lounge area, it was cozy and have a nice bar and restaurant

They advertise free breakfast. Catch is only on weekends when rates are higher. I don't like to be tricked. Be up front. This will does not instill trust this brand of hotel. On the other hand everything is was good.

Due to a severe allergic reaction to animal dander, I'm not able to stay with my cat-loving children when I visit. So, we stayed at this nearby Holiday Inn (HI). Hotel has recently been upgraded (I think it used to be a HI Express, but I'm not sure). Very nice -- restaurant and bar on site, good fitness room, and the pool and pool area looked good (didn't have time to use). Not the cheapest place in town, but as they say, you get...yadda, yadda. I stayed at this hotel with two others for a wedding in early June 2016. It's location is the first thing you notice, literally right off the highway making it easy to find and access. Only two miles from downtown right down 5th street. The hotel was really nice, the downstairs area had just been remodeled and they had a separate bar and breakfast area. The staff, super friendly, easy to work with, and always present. The room was nice, if it wasn't remodeled with the lobby than it was stil... Read more

We stayed here one night after driving 10 hours on our way to Washington DC. We arrived late and went to bed pretty quickly, but the hotel seemed nice and clean and staff was friendly. Beds weren't the most comfortable and seemed a little small, but they weren't the worse I've slept in either. It was a good hotel for what we needed...a one night stay.

I had left clothes in the closet, and remembered when I was home after 4 hours of driving. I called, spoke with a manager, who got me the appropriate person (I think Debbie) who was just about to leave (shift over); who took the time to go up to my room, and get my clothes, and call me back on my cell. Said the clothes would be mailed on Monday afternoon b/c she likes to get things done right away! I had them shipped C.O.D, and got my clothes by Wed or Thurs of same week. Amazing! Thanks fo... Staff members were friendly and efficient. Room was good. On premises restaurant was good although they bartender was absolutely overwhelmed with only 12 patrons. This resulted in my staying about an hour more than desired. Two areas where improvement could be made - my room had a shower only unit. At 6'2" I could not turn it on without sticking my head in resulting in a blast of ice cold water. The head could not be pivoted where this was avoidable. Recommend you throw a towel over it/... Holiday Inn used to be your standard affordable cheap hotel. But lately, it seems like many of them have been redone and their customer service is now excellent. This hotel was a surprise in being newly furnished with top-notch customer service and a very comfortable bed. The Bath & Body toiletries are a nice touch. The only thing that could have been improved was the older shower stall, but it didn't detract from the visit. At a significantly lower price than most other hotels in Charlottesvil... Read more

This hotel was our last hotel during our road trip. The staff were great at guiding us on touristy things to do. The room and bathroom were clean, although I wish we had a tub instead of shower stall (mainly because a tub is easier to bathe little kids in). A good HI, in a great location for visiting Monticello. The room was a good size, with a comfortable bed and the bathroom had a powerful walk in shower. The pool area was a reasonable size and had plenty of chairs and loungers. The staff were always friendly and efficient, particularly in the breakfast area. The breakfast omelettes were tasty and very filling, setting us up for the day. I would stay here again.

We have stayed here before and chose to return. The place has been recently updated and remodeled. The restaurant in particular is very nice! Excellent service all around. Usually try to stay at Hyatt Place-this place definitely rivaled that hotel in regards to the look, comfort, service, and price. However, breakfast beat out Hyatt Place.

When my wife and I last stayed at this Holiday Inn, they were in the middle of a renovation. It was a royal pain getting in and out. We were looking forward to returning to the "new" Holiday Inn - Monticello. We were not disappointed with the appearance. The new lobby and dining areas were beautiful. The shower was the most greatest thing about this hotel. I did not want to get out. Front desk service where very polite. There is no free breakfast. I have stayed at this hotel every September for the last seven years or so. When I first started staying there it was a very tired Holiday Inn, although I must say, the staff has always been very accommodating. Then a couple years ago they started updating the rooms. This is apparently the closest hotel to Monticello. Great service, friendly staff, good restaurant, and nice large rooms suitable to family sharing. It's an old building but the lobby looks like it has been recently redone. The rooms could use some updating though. All very fresh and clean. A great place to stay for anyone visiting the historic area. It is right off the highway and the traffic can be heard. Turning on the AC pretty much drowns it out.

The hotel itself is ok. The room was clean and the staff are friendly. We ordered room service, two house salads, which were fresh, but overpriced. In the early morning it was loud. Not sure if it was housekeeping or maintenance. The air conditioner did not cool the room as much as we would have liked and the refrigerator hummed all night.
