The Hilton Garden Inn had a very nice staff. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way. My son really enjoyed the indoor pool. It was very clean. Now for the room. We were in room 109. It was wonderful. The ceilings were high making the room look and feel huge. We were missing a shower curtain but the staff brought it too us as soon as we told them. With a smile. This will be my must go to hotel when visiting Charlottesville. Again great hotel and staff!!!

The staff was friendly and the hotel was very nice. A couple of items that prevented this from being rated 5 - no mirror outside the bathroom (made it somewhat difficult for both of us to get ready), no in room mini-fridge There appeared to be a cabinet for it but no fridge) and we were left (2) conditioners and no shampoo (which we did not realize until we needed it in the morning). We assumed the shampoo would be left for our second night but it was not. This time we realized it the night befo... Read more

We have stayed all over the world in many, many hotels and all price ranges, and this hotel had the best staff ever. Everyone was so friendly and nice. Very clean room and quiet location. We were on the fourth floor with a beautiful view of a pond and the mountains. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Charlottesville. GREAT STAFF!!

Standard HGI fare, but with a few extras in the lobby for graduation exercise weekend at UVA in Charlottesville. Gritted teeth and paid nearly double for a standard room, with a mandatory 2-night stay required for graduation weekend. Sure, I know that EVERY hotel jacks up room prices during graduation weekend (supply and demand)...but that doesn't make it right.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The room was very clean and modern. The staff was warm and welcoming. It was probably because of the UVA graduation, but they served yummy appetizers during the late afternoon, and we enjoyed meeting people in the lobby. The champagne toast was wonderful as well!

We stayed for one night while visiting family in the area. The hotel is conveniently situated just east of Charlottesville proper with easy access to the interstate. The setting is quiet and lovely. We requested and received a top floor room overlooking the pond and jogging trail--worth asking for. The room was clean and comfortable. What puts this hotel over the top is the staff. They have an additional outdoor eating area where you can also relax in comfy chairs by the outdoor fireplace. Very nice atmosphere.

This is by far the best hotel in Charlottesville, I checked out all the others in the area! In fact for a hotel chain, it resonates a feeling of a boutique hotel. It has every amenity one could possibly want; to include, outstanding breakfast, food to order, room service, pool, gym, laundry, and without a doubt the best customer service. We stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and enjoyed the visit. Therefore, we reserved two rooms for a 6-day visit to Charlottesville, associated with a surgery at the university medical center. When reserving, we stressed the need for connecting rooms (so we could more easily care for a family member while recovering from surgery) and were told that, while it can't be guaranteed, it would almost certainly be fine. Complimentary coffee and lemon-aid and cookies in the afternoon. Small indoor pool and gym, which we did not use. Having room service, where I can order dinner in my room after an 8-10 hour road trip, is a huge plus. Additionally the food is wonderful! My wife experienced your hotel for the first time and is now a big fan. The rates are reasonable, and the rooms are always well appointed. One thing that I would suggest is to have a list of Garden Inns and their locations throughout the USA available to your guests so they can make reservations at a Garden Inn on their way to their destinations.

Stayed 3 days for work and all was excellent. Room was large and spotless, and overlooked the large pond in back where a swan lives. Very tranquil and quieter than most hotel rooms. Food was good, but the selection at breakfast could use a little more variety from day to day. Only cheddar cheese was available from the cook for eggs/ omelets. Dinner was very good, I had the 1/2 roasted chicken and it was very flavorful, but a bit dry, maybe they could brine the chicken before roasting. All in... Read more

Great property location, but rooms were worn. Windows were disgusting. Towels were thin. Shower not good. The bathtub did not drain well. Beds were comfortable and lighting was appropriate. Internet worked fine.

Stayed for two nights for a wedding and everything from check in to check out was perfect. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Shuttle service was excellent and drivers went out of their way to be helpful!!! Would definitely return.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was fine - no issues. Location was good for us as it was close to my son's new apartment that he was moving into and transitioning from active duty military into his first civilian job in Charlottesville. Hotel made it all a little easier.

Good but should have been excellent the price. Good location, great sized room. Staff was response to problems but there should not have been problems given the pride. No dishes in suite. No blankets or pillow cases for pullout. Not cleaned well between nights.

So whilst the star rating is v low, we'd like to make clear that it's not due to the room quality or service. It's due solely to a really disappointing meal at the in house restaurant. We ordered a starter and two mains, which all came out together and none of it was anymore than store bought frozen food which was either reheated or deep fried. My half roast chicken was ineatable and we sent it back, my wife's fish and chips was four pieces or frozen packet fish cooked to an inch of its life ... Read more

We stayed one night after attending a football game. Good front desk experience and clean room. Nice lobby area to sit around with friends. We did eat the breakfast, although it looked fine. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in room 107 with my family. Staff was very good and breakfast service and selection great. They were very accommodating to food allergies. Had to switch to another hotel because of cigarette smell in room. The potpourri did not solve the problem.

I am admittedly a neat freak when it comes to hotels, so I was not entirely surprised when I found mold in the bathtub drain. Renovations were underway while we there during Thanksgiving, so only one elevator was in service. Still, that was not a problem. The construction crew working at 8 a.m. on the floor directly above our room on Thanksgiving morning was slightly annoying, but the Front Desk made sure that didn't happen again during our stay. I have stayed here twice now and the breakfast ne... Read more
