We checked in for 3 nights, we got a nice offer for a room with 2 queen beds, city view, the hotel is surrounded with plenty of restaurants, 10 minutes drive away from Charlottesville downtown mall. I celebrated my wife's birthday in the 9'th floor restaurant where they have a nice terrace viewing the surrounding mountains, and when we went back to our room we found a bottle of wine and a birthday gift card :), that was really lovely. The staff were super helpful & kind, the front desk and valet... Read more

I wasn't sure whether to give 3 or 4 stars and decided on 4 because the staff in the restaurant/bar, at the front desk, and the valet were all very friendly. The only major issue for me was the elevator. We stayed for 5 nights and it did become really annoying by the end of our stay. There is only 1 working elevator, so you have to wait forever and sometimes it was full and I'd have to wait even longer. I would've used the stairs, but I had a toddler in a stroller, so the elevator was really my... Read more

I don't recall what this building use to be (probably dumpy student apartments or dumpy motel) but it is now a very nice looking hotel. Room was small but clean & modern. I liked the details, such as the room key is a "student" id card. There were some other unique things like the id card. Some things that while costing money would make it even better...1) Put audible exhaust fans in the bathrooms. No privacy in the bathroom whatsoever is other people in the room. Everyone can hear everything. 2... Read more

My husband and I came to Charlottesville for a quick getaway and couldn't be happier with our hotel choice. You can't beat the location with an easy walk to campus and restaurants. You can walk to the downtown mall or hop on the free trolley right outside. The hotel's theme was well done throughout and made it more fun than a cookie cutter hotel. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. My only opportunity for improvement is the shower. The water pressure was low and it lacked a spot ... Read more

Stayed one night at the hospital rate as my child was having surgery early and we wanted to be close that morning. Arrived and valet immediately assisted with bags and getting us inside. Check in was a breeze with good directions around town and the facilities. Only one elevator in service. Sixth floor room was perfect. We went downtown to their walking mall area it's just over a mile on foot to get there. While heading out they gave me an umbrella because there was a possibility of rain. ... Read more

This kitschy little vintage property had everything- it was clean and felt safe staying there. The staff was helpful and it is in the center of everything. I cannot wait to stay there again. One small complaint, the bottles in the shower that house the shampoo and conditioner was gunky- that's all bad I have to say. I am so looking forward to telling more people about it. STAY HERE! Valet is only $7 and worth it!

What a great find !! Wonderful Location..Amazing Staff. We were in C"ville celebrating a special occasion . When we arrived at check -in we were upgraded to a beautiful suite, Lindsay at the front desk , along with Kristina the hotel manager arranged to have a nice bottle of VA wine, white roses, and mini bar gift waiting in our room. Room is clean and comfortable and well appointed. Staff is very helpful. If you are needing to stay downtown for some reason, are visiting the campus, or like us just want to stay off thos... We just needed a place for the evening and this was better than we had imagined. It was very clean quiet, well appointed, and decorated with a lot of fun stuff. It was very close to the Amtrak station which was one of the reasons we opted for it. The check in was smooth, without problems and so was the check out.

We stay in Charlottesville frequntly. This time we decided to stay near UVA. The hotel sits right on the edge of campus....near many restaurants. The hotel is eclectic and has guests of all ages. There is a small coffee shop on the first floor and a restaurant and bar on the top floor. The restaurant menu is not huge, but it is adequate. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The Graduate Hotels are found near college campuses and tailor their decor for the vicinity in which the... Read more

The Graduate is in the heart of Charlottesville, right across from the UVA Medical Center. Even though Graduate is a chain, it has such individual charm, from the decor to even your keycard...all like you are stay on campus in any college USA. The Front Desk Staff was friendly and helpful. The Valet Staff took good care of my car. The rooftop bar- Heirloom, had wonderful food and good local craft brews. Won D, the Bartender, kept the conversation lively. You can walk or uber (for less than $10) ... Read more

I recently stayed at the Graduate Charlottesville for a conference that was happening at the Pedestrian Mall, about 1 mile down the road. It was a nice place. It was clean and well kept. It has a game/study room with comfy couches & a small, but functional exercise room. The wifi worked fairly reliably. It did occasionally drop my connection, but would quickly reconnect. The decoration was eclectic. It is also extremely close to campus. There are plenty of great restaurants and shops on the ma... Read more

I was in town to visit family that lives not far out of town. After getting flights I checked motel rooms and all were extremely expensive and I found out why, the college had a home football game. Also most of the hotel/motels in the area were already full. There were not many options. The Graduate was one of the places that had a room so I booked. The location is great if you want to be near the school. The check in was handled perfectly and my room was extreamly nice. I liked the roo... Read more

It was quiet and comfortable and within walking distance of what we were doing at the University (game, lawn, Corner, etc.). For the price, I'd expect a little higher end experience, but the cost in CVille is more a function of demand. Overall the decor is very nice, if a little worn in places, and the bathroom shower was a little light on water pressure, but all in all, it's a great hotel and I would stay here again.

I have been a regular guest of the Graduate Charlottesville since early August 2015. In total spending upwards of 6 weeks total since last year. My time here has been for UVA parents weekends, sporting events and long term stays due to family health emergencies at UVA hospitals. The staff, through it all have been outstanding. From the moment I arrive and check in the valet experience is positive. The front desk folks and the managers have always....I mean always, gone above and beyond to m... Read more

The room was very nice immediately. This whole hotel has a cool design and it's located just in front of the UVA, on Main Street, which means you can walk everywhere in Charlottesville from here. Nonetheless, it offers free bicycles to its guests. I never been there, but it has a cool looking rooftop restaurant. Staff was super nice. There is a nice little cafe at the ground floor.

This used to be the Red Roof Inn which we never stayed at, but had passed by many times given that it's on Main St. Very eclectic decor. Cute that the a Card Catalog was part of the main desk......something my college student was unfamiliar with! Location and the Roof Top Bar / Restaurant were the best aspects of this hotel. The rooms were fine and comfortable although we had problems with the bathroom. I have a Pet Peeve with there being no drawers in vanities in which to unpack my ite... Read more

My daughter and I had such a fun weekend in Charlottesville and the hotel made it more enjoyable. Very comfortable room, we loved the mid-century modern eclectic decor. UVA is an easy walk and historic downtown was very close by. Friendly staff, great common areas, and easy parking. I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in Charlottesville.

Had a great experience staying at the Graduate. Hotel was clean and had a few perks like the rooftop restaurant, game room and ground level coffee shop. The staff members were great - you can even check out a bike to get around town or campus! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Had a great time at this nice hotel. Great price and very friendly staff just down the street from the rotunda. Staff at front desk were a delight. We will certainly be back again to spend more time here.

Where do I start? Lamps not working in the room? (plugs had been pulled out of the outlet behind the heavy TV cabinet.) Fire alarm going off early in the morning, necessitating soaking wet from shower people standing outside on the 30-degrees sidewalk with the wind blowing? (Never got an explanation, or apology, and there was no fire!) No hot water for tea in coffee room, and attendant telling me I might be able to get a pan from their restaurant upstairs and boil water in my room? (on what? The... Read more

A great hotel within easy walking distance of the UVa campus. Spent a night while visiting my son at school, staff was great, friendly, welcoming and attended to special requests. Had snacks & drinks at rooftop bar while watching college football, cool atmosphere, met several other families, a really fun evening. The room was clean and had collegiate decor, kind of cool and quirky, loved it. Didn't have breakfast at the lobby coffee bar but it looked nice (a good crowd). Can't beat the on campu... Read more
