I drive from New York to Atlanta by myself all the time. This my spot to stop for the night. This is the only hotel I feel safe and sleep sound at. Also there are a ton of places to eat. Everyone here is great. They also serve free breakfast. There is Cracker Barrel on one side of parking lot a McDonald's on the other side and a 7-11 in front of hotel you just walked to. There are also other restaurants close by that will deliver.

A few years ago while driving from Florida to Massachusetts we discovered this hotel. We have always found the front desk staff friendly, the rooms clean and the price reasonable. On our last overnight stay, we were pleasantly surprised that they had remodeled and upgraded the lobby and the room we stayed in. The fact that we can get a good dinner at the Cracker Barrel next door when we arrive and we can gas up our car at the Seven-Eleven before we continue our journey the next morning is a bi... I called ahead to see if there was a room available on the first floor and Joseph checked and did not come up with anything with a king bed,he then said let me check to see if anyone cancelled. Quickly came back and said he had one and I gave him the information and he saved the room for us. We arrived and all was taken care of and he handed us the keys. He was very friendly and told us all the hotel had to offer. Joseph is a great asset to the hotel with his smiling face. The room was clean an... Read more

Late at night and decided we needed to pull off the road for the night. Called ahead and manager on duty offered us a great price. It's right off the I-95, so easy to find. We were offered a "suite" - bedroom with attached living room with kitchenette - which was large enough for two adults and two children. No luxuries but our suite was clean with comfortable beds and decent bedding. Breakfast (included for free) was pretty basic but OK. The staff were friendly. Good location and good va... Read more

We stayed here overnight after a long trip. The location was perfect, just north of Richmond but south of the DC traffic. Room was very spacious with a microwave and little refrigerator and a King bed. Bedding was clean and comfortable. The TV had hundreds of channels. The tub/shower had 1 grab bar in front; would have liked another on the side. Towels were thick and plentiful. Long countertop for all of our toiletries. The breakfast area was wonderful: lots of food and beverage choices and go... Read more

We went to Kings Dominion the weekend of Memorial Day and were worried because we weren't able to get a hotel on the same exit, however, this hotel was much better. It is literally one exit from the park. Its fairly new, quiet and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and continental breakfast was not bad. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. I was even impressed by the bath and body works toiletries offered and the ... Read more

We only stayed one night after a long day on the road, 5/2016. The morning of check out(9:30 am) I heard a small noise at the door and thought it was my husband returning to the room. I was standing in the bathroom which was directly in side on the door. A male started to walk into the room and said he was housekeeping. Well, he had a black t-shirt on and a pair of jeans. Really? 10:20 am the same male walked into my room again! First of all it is on his information sheet that we were checki... Read more

After a 15 hour trip in rainy weather and a loss of electric power in the area, the staff at this hotel were wonderful and made the situation tolerable. Michelle, Tracy, and Taylor are an asset to this hotel. We arrived late at night. Though the electricity was out, the staff escorted us and our belongings to our room via flashlight and made us comfortable before and after power was restored. Thank you for the extra effort.

I made the mistake of renting a room for two nights at Motel 6 up the street and an employee tried to use a master key to enter during the early morning hours although the DND placard up. (See my motel 6 review) Left Motel 666 (hell) and came to this holiday inn. Thank God! The staff after learning of my nightmare went above and beyond to comfort me and to just give me peace of mind that I would be safe with them. Throughout the night the staff alternated walking rounds by my room to insure t... Read more

This was our first time ever staying at a Holiday Inn. We usually prefer Hilton/Hampton hotels, but every hotel in the area was sold out. Since we only needed an overnight stay we decided to give the Holiday Inn a try. What a pleasant surprise! The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Joel at the front desk. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast and coffee were good. We really enjoyed the warm cinnamon buns! We would definitely choose this Holiday Inn Expr... Read more

We arrived here late and tired due to driving from BWI. Traffic was horrendous and the clerk was generous enough to give us a great rate to get us off the road. Simple enough. We checked into our room the lights flickered several times but into the night myself and son noticed the phones, fridge and lights weren't working either . Too tired to really wonder we assumed it was related to construction on 95. Upon waking to shower and dress we had no lights to do anything. We literally could not se... Read more

Checked in only to find black hairs in one of the beds. It was obvious the linens were not changed. Changed rooms and the desk clerk said the manager would call the next day.....never received a call. Disgusting....At breakfast the next morning I saw one of the girls who worked at the hotel refill her drink bottle by putting the juice dispenser down in her bottle this touching the dissenter tube to the inside of her bottle...again disgusting. Our family of 4 had a great time spending the week of July 18 at the Holiday Inn Express in Ashland, VA. Our greeting upon arrival was excellent and the check-out was quick and easy. Our suite was clean and comfortable. I really like how the sleeping area is separated with a door from the family room area - both areas had TV's. The front desk staff was great and the cleaning staff was awesome. Breakfast was really good; Tracy and they young lady that wore glasses were very friendly, nice, a... Read more

After driving all day long by myself, I checked in to a spotless, divinely comfortable room. I treated myself to a jacuzzi room, and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. I will definitely return here when I make this long drive again. Excellent location, convenient to interstate, and a reasonable distance from Northern Virginia. I was able to get up at a reasonable time, eat breakfast, and continue my drive to the DC area, arriving before lunch.

First off, this hotels address did not show up in our GPS it keep taking us to the hotel North of it with the same address except it's on the South side! It's a good thing the guy in the reception desk in the North side directed us to the right place " we get visitors like you all the time" ( huh?!) Girl in our hotel desk " I have gotten 3 phone calls today with same problem they were directed to that other hotel" ?!?! The room is nice and clean, but there's 4 of us but it was set up for 3. When another hotel completely ( and unapologetically) screwed up our suite reservation that was booked and paid for in full weeks before, this hotel saved the day! They were able to help and quickly accommodated our family (which includes five children) after we had been driving for 12 hours. The manager was so friendly and everything from the room to the staff was absolutely wonderful. Highly highly recommend! Thank you!

My current employer has an employee appreciation day in King's Dominion. So this year we decided to stay the night before to hit the amusement park early. This place was convenient, clean and had a very friendly staff. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

This was a nice, clean hotel. Standard Holiday Inn Express, with new renovations, and very clean. It is in a safe neighborhood, with several restaurants and gas stations nearby. A Walmart very close also. At $110 I would not call it a deal, but not overpriced either. I would stay here again for sure.

They best customer service i have ever received from a hotel employee at the front desk. Billie was very helpful and is committed to providing excellent customer service. She greeted me with a very big smile and a hello. After she quoted me a price of the stay she proceeded to ask if I had triple A or a military Id for a discount . It was very refreshing to have meet a very nice and considerate person like Billie???

I must say, I was intrigued by the pancake maker, and Tracy came up and explained how it worked. I tried to get it to work and was not successful. She noticed a short while later I was without pancake, and she asked what happened. Already great customer service, and she then takes on the task of getting me my pancakes. I sat down, she made the pancakes and served me! Wonderful example of going beyond. I also needed a late check out, and when I did check out, the front desk manager acknowle... Read more

Very nice price compared to other hotels in the area and other Holiday Inns 5-10 minutes away in Richmond. The parking area was very well lit, the breakfast was very good and they actually changed the menu each day, as far as the meat. Nice breakfast lady interacting with the customers and very attentive to anything that needed to be rectified in her area.
