Great place to stay. Free shuttle to Rosslyn Metro station(from early to late morning and early afternoon to mid-evening). All museums can be reached from the lines serving this station. Suites are big, with full kitchen. Free coffee and juice in lobby in the morning and evening. Great staff, clean laundry area. Lots of parking but you have to pay for it. Not much right nearby but a short taxi ride to nice restaurants and grocery stores. Outdoor pool open from Memorial Day(late May to Lab... Read more

Needs some upgrades, like newer windows, pillows. We were on the 5th floor by the pool. You could hear the airplanes from the airport. The Iwo Jima memorial was a 5 minute walk from the hotel, Metro was a 10 min walk and the shuttle works Monday thru Friday. Hotel staff was very great. Wifi is free, but weak My bill at check out was $698 for a 3 night stay and I was told parking was not charged. But my Visa debit states that $773.70 was taken out on the first day. They said that the par... Read more

Had a good time in D.C. and Arlington, but will not stay at Virginian Suites again. It seems dated. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful, and our suite had a charming little kitchen. High traffic noise. Bathroom is dated with sloppy paint and no fan. Heat and A/C spotty, with a cheap wall unit. Pool only open from Memorial Day though Labor Day.

Front Desk staff needs customer service training. Hotel did not have any restaurants and since it was raining it caused a problem. Front Desk staff and house person definitely need customer service training. Both were rude and I will not return to this hotel.

I have stayed in several places and this was the first time I was told that we couldn't get the rooms (2) we had booked 3 months in advance because the hotel was overbooked. I have no idea how a hotel can be overbooked. The guy at the reception was patient and helpful and found us another hotel in DC about 5 miles away. It would not have been a big deal had we not been checking in at midnight and then asked to drive to DC at 1 AM. This is freaking ridiculous. Beware of booking and having it canc... Read more

Our room and the hotel was very clean. Staff was extremely friendly! Would definitely recommend this hotel as it was just a couple of blocks from the Arlington National Cemetery entrance. Hotel had a free shuttle to the Metro which ran Monday - Friday and was a convenient and free way to travel.

We had a great time. The Virginian Suites was a great place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to print my tickets I had purchased online for 2 events. Would recommend this place.

We stayed at the Virginian while here for a family burial at Arlington. The facility is old and pretty run down. The Lobby is updated and very inviting but the rooms:suites are very dated. It is clean and has a kitchenette, living area and bath. Everything was give, but you are paying for the proximity to DC, not the niceness if the accommodations.

10 minute walk to the metro; 10 minute walk to Iwo Jima memorial; 10 minute walk to grocery and to Target. Not luxurious, but clean, comfortable, and secure. Former apartment building, so suite has a small apartment kitchen with a stove and fridge. Laundry room in the building is a plus. Really helpful front desk staff, especially Jordan. Would definitely stay here again.

Wife wanted to see D.C. this year for vacation. Ugh! Shopping for hotels I was taken aback by the prices of hotels in the area but saw the Virginian was highly rated on T.A. but priced more to my budget. I'm not cheap, but come on folks, I'm only sleeping there while we take in the sights. The rooms are big, clean, and comfortable. The added value of having a kitchen is a great thing when wanting to take back doggy bags from dining or just having a quick dyi breakfast before starting your da... Read more

Dated inside but extremely clean. An amazing stay and a good price. We stayed a whole week and booked though the hotel's website. We got a good deal due to not having a cancellation ability. We had a Queen suite. A Bedroom, one bathroom, pull our couch, desk area, kitchen and table. There was also lots of closest space which was amazing. Only a few issues. First was you have to carry the bags into the lobby and up 3 stairs before you can use a cart. However once the staff saw we have some phy... Read more

Booked this hotel on a whim for a funeral at Arlington Cemetery. Turns out, now every time we go to D.C. we stay here, which about 3-4 times a year. Wise choice if you don't want to pay the small fortune most hotels in D.C. want for a stay. A couple blocks from the Metro, or about a $10 cab ride to the Smithsonian. Hotel staff is friendly and very helpful. Accommodations are comfortable and we have always had plenty of room. Marine Corps Memorial is only a block or so away.

Decent pool on the 3rd floor, this hotel is within walking distance of the Marines Memorial and Arlington Cemetery... they have free pizza on Wednesdays for dinner, breakfast is available... but with the full kitchen in the suites, we just walked to a market the 1st day and bought eggs, english muffins, milk, cheese, ham and made our own breakfasts. Good sized space, you walk into a living area, with a desk on one side and a dining area near the kitchen. Kitchen is small, but has it all. f... Read more

Refurbished facility with character. Very nice staff and quite helpful with our needs. Large rooms with nice kitchen facilities. Very easy access to Arlington Cemetery and DC. Despite proximity to city the hotel is in a "neighborhood" setting. Convenient shuttle service to local grocers/stores for those extended visits. Breakfast available was minimal but nice dining area. This was our second stay and as we return we will return to Virginian.

I love that the place is within walking distance to the metro. The hotel also has a kitchen with basic appliances that make the longer stays comfortable especially if you come with a family. The rooms have wall to wall carpets and the bathroom reveals an antiquated feel to the place. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

This is a place we would stay again when visiting the DC area. Pros: Friendly and very helpful front desk staff Reasonably priced, especially compared to downtown DC. More space in the rooms than in a typical hotel, which was perfect for our family of 4. Kitchen area (furnished with basic dishes) - stove, fridge, microwave, toaster. We packed breakfast items and saved a bit of $ each day by eating in our room. Close to the metro stop (9-10 min walk), plus free shuttle service M-F. The Rossl... Read more

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel clean. Service and attitude of employees very good and friendly. Close (walking distance to Arlington Cemetery. ) Good location. Took shuttle from cemetery to DC. (Did not have to drive. ) Clean and safe neighborhood. Two reasons I don't give it a better rating. They charge $14 dollars per day to park your car there. The breakfast is not the best (also may charge $6 per person) to eat.

This year We did our best road trip: DC, Niagara Falls/CN, NY, Philly, DC and then flew back home although I felt as I was already at home at the Virginian suites in Arlington. The suites are big, and are not your typical hotel room. There was enough space for the suitcases, all the shopping bags, kids toys, a computer desk for my wife to work, a big fridge(for my beer), a stove, a microwave and still room for the kids to run. I could live there! There's a playground for the kids to play and a n... Read more

Just a short walk to the Metro and then a quick ride into the heart of DC. Hotel is clean and beds comfortable. Although we didn't use the kitchen it would be terrific for a family Quiet with a very friendly and helpful staff. Parking is $14 per day so not too bad.

First off the price was right. This hotel does tend to sell at a lower rate than others in this area. It was obviously an apartment building that had some new carpet and paint slapped on it and rents as a hotel. We liked the full kitchen, the giant room, seating area, decently equipped fitness center, and locker rooms with a sauna. The WiFi was nearly non-existent. it was a strong connection, but impossible to do any work with the speed. The hotel obviously had a lot of extended stay style... Read more

For nearly 3 years while working in the NoVA/DC Area I stayed at The Virginian Suites during the late 1990's/early 2000's, and loved it there! If I'm in the area, I always try to stay there! The rooms are GREAT, and the Staff is Top-Notch! Why stay anywhere else?

Very nice. Huge room, clean. Kitchenette, well equipped but didn't use. Front desk staff is nothing short of amazing. Intense but amazing. And very knowledgeable. Bring your family here to stay while you're visiting the DC area. This is not a fancy place but it is clean, comfy, a nice jumping off place for your DC trip.

Apartment hotel gives a homely atmosphere and with great location !! Rosslyn station is just 10 min walk and suttle service to the metro !! Breakfast looks little the same all the time though but free pizza on every Wednesday taste great !! Staff are nice and polite ! Feel like home . Rate could be little lower to get on most competitive price ?????????????? Just get renovated and service is very good !!

I had to travel to DC on business that involved visiting Fort Myer, so I wanted to stay close. I chose the Virginian because I wanted to check it out for a possible hotel for a future personal visit that will include my kids. When I mentioned my choice to a coworker, he turned up his nose and said "They're a Choice property." That made me a little worried. Well, I was pleasantly surprised! There is the cutest part across the street. It's also near the Arlington Cemetary--I got to watch a Ma... Read more
