I'm surprised that some of the other reviews are less than enthusiastic. My experience through several stays has been very favorable. The hotel is located close to the metro, offers parking (for an extra charge), and a shuttle service to nearby places. Perhaps most important, the staff is very accommodating. I was there recently for two meetings and needed separate receipts for two sequential stays, which the staff handled with ease. The quality of the restaurant is acceptable (no lunches h... Read more

I was up there for a work trip, stayed for 7 days. Clean hotel, good service, good location, fast internet, great staff. Only downside is that parking has to be paid for (even for guests) and breakfast is not included. There's a mall nearby and a metro station from which you can basically solve all you need. They also have shuttle service available. Good stay!

This hotel is located across the river from DC in the Arlington area, specifically ballston. Nice area to walk about with a few nice restaurants. An Uber to DC is about $20. This hotel has a nice lobby and hallways but the rooms disappoint a bit, at least ours did. They are old with low ceilings, old carpet, old sofas, and old furniture. I guess "old" sums up the rooms. If they were to remodel the rooms to match the lobby and hallways, 5 star for a comfortable and nice hotel. Also, parking $14 p... Read more

Pros: Clean, Service is good if you pay, shuttle to metro, has a operational bar. Cons: Parking $14, Breakfast $14, not enough towels in room had to call housekeeping, air conditioner is crazy loud and cold (which means the air feels too cold when on and uncomfortable when not) I have always been more pleased with econolodge and choice hotels.

Nicely appointed room, clean and comfortable. Fast internet. Friendly staff. Good neighborhood for walking. We headed out to dinner- several good food options within a 6 minute walk. Parking is $14. Two blocks from Orange Line of the Metro.

Family and I stayed here for one night to do a little sight-seeing in DC. You are within walking distance to the Ballston-MU Metro station. If you don't want to walk, or if it is an issue for a person in your family or travel party, there is a complimentary shuttle that can take you there and pick you up. There are many restaurants near the hotel as well (McDonalds, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chinese, sandwich/pastry place near the metro station) if you don't want to eat at the hotel restaurant. ... Our family has stayed at this hotel on two occasions now, and both have been super. The food and service in the restaraunt are excellent, and an excellent value. The hotel facility and personnel are top notch. Easy to find and convenient to the Metro. Highly recommended. Be sure to ask Michael in the Silver Leaf Restaurant to play his face recognition game: it's a creative and fun challenge!

The location of this hotel is quite good. It can be an alternative for someone who likes to travel in DC but wishes to pay less for accommodation. It takes around 15-20 minutes from the hotel to downtown DC. The check in process was quick, the hotel staff was nice. The room itself was pretty spacious (we stayed for 4 people). There were some restaurants and convenience stores too near the hotel. In general, we had a pleasant stay at Holiday Inn Arlington.

I was at the Holiday Inn Arlington at Ballston for a work event. The room was large and very comfortable. I enjoyed the Bath and Body Works toiletries. The mini-fridge was convenient. Wish the room had a microwave. Beware that there's not a lot to do in the immediate area, but the Ballston Metro is only 3 blocks away. Hotel restaurant was decently priced. Pool area looked nice, but I didn't get a chance to try it. Vending machines on every floor take a credit card. Beware that the thermostat tur... Read more

Stayed two nights for business. Staff was helpful and responsive. Location was fine for Arlington. Plenty of nearby restaurants. $15 Uber to DCA. Room was large and comfortable. Pool was located on second floor roof; a bit small, but still very nice during a DC June. Restaurant was above average. Solid business- class hotel. Will return.

This Holiday Inn is about 4 blocks slightly uphill from the Ballston Metro stop. The room was clean and over a 5 night stay was cleaned well daily. There is s language barrier with some of the front desk and restaurant employees. The SHuttle drivers were very courteous and accomodating. My biggest complaint is the breakfast. Business people do not have time to sit around and wait for 15-20 minutes to a custom cooked breakfast. A breakfast buffet would be a lot quicker for people who need t... Read more

A very convenient place to stay which is within walking distance of the DC metro & also close to a nice shopping area. The only problem was that they also charge 14 dollars to park the automobile in a (gated) open parking lot behind the hotel.

We used our points to stay here while traveling back from Rhode Island. We wanted to spend a day in DC and also didn't want to stay downtown. After much internet searching, I decided on Arlington b/c it was just a few metro stops to DC. The hotel was nice. Beds were a little springy. But the bathroom was clean and so was the room. We didn't use the wi-fi or eat the food. Parking was reasonable. Walk to metro was maybe 2 blocks? We ate at the Buffalo Wild Wings and PF Changs that were close by.

Clean. Good place to stay if you want to pay less and just Uber or take the metro over to the sites in DC. Most hotels that I have provide coffee and newspapers in the lobby but this one does not. There was also no breakfast provided. Not that every hotel does but it is nice that many do. My weird complaint was that I didn't understand why there was a lifeguard at the pool when the deepest part is only 5 feet. Most hotel pools have swim at your own risk sign and their pools go deeper. It made i... Read more

Pros: This HI is probably one of the cleanest I've been in. Beds are good, not as firm as I'd like, but that's me. Breakfast from the menu in the restaurant was very good. Keurig in the room, as well as a fridge (why no microwave, while you're at it?). Close to the metro (4 blocks). Cons: Drinks in the bar are either puny or watered down. Bartenders take Note: Martinis do not automatically have ice or water in them. Pastries in the "grab and go" breakfast were lame. Volume is limi... Read more

I recently stayed at this hotel and was an overall good experience. It has several restaurants within walking distance and a mall nearby. The hotel itself provided clean and spacious room with a nice cold AC. Price was reasonable to area and would recommend if looking for a nice place to stay while in Arlington. It's not as close to D.C and require a car or take the metro to sightseeing.

I found myself settling for the Holiday Inn in Arlington, VA, because all other hotel options were unavailable. The front desk staff was accommodating but not friendly, and offered no information regarding the availability of a restaurant, exercise facility or parking. I asked about breakfast. Staff replied in a negative tone that the buffet was no longer offered. The lobby is dingy and the upholstered chairs are stained and worn. My room smelled of mold. The shower head hit me mid-chest - g... Read more

Stayed for a night here. Close to Ballaston metro station. They have a coach bus for 1 mile radius. Rooms are of good size, rooms are with tea / coffee facilities. They have a good restoraunt called Silver Leaf which serves great food. Loved the stay here.

The is my second visit to this hotel and I enjoyed my stay once again. Hotel very clean and quiet. Bed very comfortable. Would have given a rating of 5, however, we were given an handicapped room (I guess the hotel was full) and the shower was awful. The shower had very little pressure and the shower head was a handheld type...not ideal, but it did the trick.

Recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is very clean with a wonderful restaurant on site. We purchased an all inclusive stay that included breakfast and parking each day. The restaurant makes the best omlets! Our room was clean as well as was the rest of the hotel areas that we were in. The room had everything that we needed and one of the most comfortable beds that I have ever slept in. If we are ever in the area again, this will be our first choice of hotels.

We rented 2 rooms for 4 adults for 3 nights and were very pleased. Staff was helpful and friendly, everything was clean and nicely decorated, the shuttle within a 1-mile radius was a nice touch ... all in all a great stay and we would do it again! The price was quite a bit below what we expected to pay, so that made the stay even better! This hotel is about a 4-block walk to the metro which may be a drawback for some, but we enjoyed the walk. Each year for the past ten years I have stayed at this Holiday Inn in Arlington. As a Priority Club Member I have always gotten a very good rate. The staff is always welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are very nice with free WiFi and a large flat panel TV. The bathroom is great with an excellent shower. They have a wonderful restaurant, and I always eat there. My crab cakes this week were outstanding. This is a great combination that has served me very well for 10 years.

First time staying here. Easy walk to my meetings with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Very clean room and pleasant staff. Room service was excellent and no more than going out to a good restaurant. If you have anything delivered however, they won't be able to come past front lobby without escort from front desk personnel. A little noisy with doors closing but was near stairwell.

Stayed here Friday and Saturday night. Easy location to get in and out of DC. Room was clean and comfortable. Price was very good in comparison to other nearby hotels. No breakfast but the money you save in room rate more the makes up for it. Parking is $14/night which is better than other hotels.

Stayed here for 3 nights on Business as most hotels in Arlington and DC this was an expensive 3 days at about $270 a night. Breakfast was not included and on ordering eggs Benedict was sad to receive two hard boiled eggs on a bread bun with a horrible hollandaise sauce over it. Sent back but changed order. Did not try the restaurant again as subway was a better option down the road. Rooms were comfortable and the concierge took us in to town but could only go about a mile, thanks for the lift... I stayed in this hotel 10 days ago for two nights. The hotel was very expensive however the quality didn't match at all. My room had two queen sized bed and both of them were pretty old and very uncomfortable. I called the lobby to change room but they told me that they were sold out and they brought a piece of wood to put under the mattress to help.
