This hotel is conveniently close to the airport and has a free shuttle that's why I chose it. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows and amenities. My only complaint is the water wasn't the warmest in the shower and took a really long time to warm up. Did order room service and the gentleman that brought it up was nice, as to the food it was edible but nothing great.

we were here for our nephew's graduation from George Washington University. My original reservation was for a king bed room, but when our daughter decided to join us for one night, I changed the reservation. I stayed here two nights while attending a conference: Very comfortable bed and room, good shower, quiet. Clever desk that pulls out for extra space, and free wifi (unless that was part of the conference rate, not sure.) The hotel is a short walk to a variety of restaurants and to the metro stop. The Starbucks in the lobby was very convenient for getting a coffee and light breakfast in the morning. Shuttle service to the airport is great (free). Parking is under hotel and cost $21.00. Rooms are a little small but still nice. Normally stay here when in the DC area.

Had a problem checking in this evening after flying all day. I was tired and frustrated but Tiffany at the front desk took care of my problem, checked on me to see if I was ok or if I needed anything while trying to resolve the problem and was generally a wonderful person as an ambassador of your hotel. She was professional and polite to another guest who was verbally irate and calmed him down. You should be very proud of this young lady and the manner in which she does her job!!!

PROs- This hotel is about 1.5 blocks from the Crystal City metro (yellow line). The front desk staff is nice and check in was smooth. They were kind enough to let me check in early. If available, the hotel van can take you to Pentagon City or anywhere in Crystal City. There's a Starbucks upstairs. Get there before the 9:00am rush begins. Queues can be 20 people deep. Hotel front desk and restaurant staff tend to get overwhelmed. Either the hotel is not sufficiently staffed or they aren't adequately trained, but it was difficult to get service at the front desk because they always seemed swamped or distracted. The Crowne Plaza is located in Crystal City---a part of the DC area I had never heard of, so I was skeptical. Well, pleasantly surprised. The hotel is good and the personal is helpful. Also the location is great if you go to Cristal City and/or the Pentagon. However the rooms needs some improvements: 1. it would be great if you could turn off the a/c 2. also it would be even better if the room had its own safe. Finally, beyond the Starbucks at the mezzanine, the food options are lacking for breakfast and dinner.
