Rooms are nicely renovated and very roomy. Staff is very friendly and breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is good for families and there were many small children there during our visit. The one small complaint I had was that the air conditioning unit was very loud when it came on and off. It also would have been great if there was an outdoor area to sit and relax with the wine we brought. Otherwise location is convenient.

Everything was great. Wonderful staff, Najet is a dream to work with. My wife comes with me and has some mobility problems, Mekonnen drives her and is a perfect gentleman and takes care of her every need. Thank you all! Ron Ulberg BYU

I have been staying at this hotel for several years when in the DC area for business. You can't go wrong here, it's a great location and close to King St for restaurants/bars and the Metro. My coworkers and I always look forward to seeing our friend Mekonnen, the hotel shuttle driver on the evening shift. Hotel has a great breakfast and evening reception with Laporta's Restaurant right next door if you don't feel like going far. The front desk staff go out of their way to make sure you ar... Read more

We can't rave enough about this hotel. The staff was fabulous, helpful, friendly, etc. We were doing a month road trip to celebrate my husband's retirement and birthday, staying in mostly Marriott properties. We were welcomed by R-Jay, who upgraded us to a one-bedroom suite. He gave us maps, came outside with me to direct me to the Metro Station, sent us a beautiful hand-written card, congratulating my husband on his birthday and retirement, and a Ghiraldelli gift basket. The hotel has it ... Read more

My visit to the Residence Inn Alexandria Old Town/Duke Street was phenomenal. From the moment that I landed at the DC airport and made my arrival call to the moment I left I was overwhelmed with support and kindness. Arriving at the hotel on a very hot day I was welcomed with a smile and a cold bottle of water! The first person that I met was Milena Mehari, the receptionist. It was obvious that she wanted to meet my needs as a traveler. I easily and speedily was able to go to my room. I had rese... Read more

When my sister, brother in law, husband and I planned to visit Washington DC again, we decided to stay outside of DC and take the metro in each morning, saving ourselves over $2500 for the 13 days we were there. We expected to trade convenience for savings. What a pleasant surprise to stay at a typical Residence Inn made memorable by the staff, the food and service. From the moment we checked into our two bedroom suite until the day we checked out, each and every staff member greeted us with ... Read more

We stayed at the Residence Inn over the 4th of July weekend. The hotel is nice, the rooms are big enough (we had a queen with the fold out couch and kitchen) and there is paid parking available ($22 overnight). The hotel provides a free breakfast in the morning with both hot and cold items so there should be a little something for everyone. My children were pleased with cold cereal, muffins and waffles. There is a lot of seating, and every time we went down, it was quite busy. The hotel is ... Read more

Just finished a 10 day stay. We have been staying here every year for 10 years around the 4th of July. Would not stay anywhere else. What a fantastic staff!. They are so friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and plenty of restaurants nearby. Recently renovated rooms are outstanding. Great location! Only a 3 block walk to subway and a 2 block walk to King street to catch the free trolley to the wharf on the Patomac River. Reagan National only 2 subway stops away. We drive up and seldom use ou... Just wanted to thank the staff for a wonderful stay and for truly bring the epitome of southern hospitality! We thank God and you for the gentle, loving and kind shuttle bus driver, Mr. Mekonnen. He was such a joy and shared so much of Old Town's history. I can truly say that this has been a wonderful experience for my family and I! I'd recommend this hotel any day and any time. I stayed at this hotel for the first time on business. I loved everything about this hotel! I normally try to stay at Marriott hotels, because they do have nice properties. The rooms include a kitchenette with a living room and work desk. The bed slept comfortably, but the pillows were too soft for me. They provide a free hot buffet breakfast that consists of turkey sausage, turkey Canadian bacon, eggs, potatoes, bagels and English muffins, cereal, yogurt and different types of juices. On occasi... I stayed in this hotel for 3 weeknights in July. First, I must say I had only positive experiences with the staff. They all seemed competent and friendly. The property seemed to be fairly full, and a lot of guests appeared to be families on vacation. I signed up for the high-speed wifi, which normally costs $4.95/night but I get for free as a Marriott platinum member. Just trying to read email in the evenings was painfully slow. Apparently, dozens, or hundreds, of people were trying to wat... Read more

Stayed 3 days on business. Front desk staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. Had a food truck and free beer Wednesday night in the lobby. Suites were large and newly remodeled. They even had a dishwasher! Hotel is close to many attractions, including National Harbor and the Alexandria National Cemetery.

We recently stayed for a long weekend to see our friends in Alexandria. We have an almost-3 year old son who came along for the trip. The hotel is clean, with a nice fitness center, small indoor pool and is within walking distance of Old Town which is filled with restaurants and shops. The best thing about this place was the people- they were welcoming and very helpful, and very sweet with our son. Most importantly- we accidentally left our son's favorite blanket on the day of departure. We rea... Read more

We were in Washington DC for my sons wedding. We used this hotel because they had two bed roomed suites. The suite was excellent and newly refurbished. The staff couldn't of been more helpful and the location for getting into dental DC was excellent.

The stay at this location was nice! Very convenient to Metro, shopping, National Harbor, and I95/I495. Wished they offered the alt breakfast (healthier) options the entire stay. The alt breakfast was offered my last week and had nice options. I requested to not be placed near the elevators I was placed very close. Their placement rational was, the room was not located directly in front of the elevators. Thankfully not too many folks were LOUD but those who were, I could hear them while tryi... Read more

We got two 2-bedroom, 2-bath suites so our family members could get together for a week. Not far to use King St. Metro and to take King St. trolley. Mon and Tues evenings there's a free supper and drinks for residents. Also free breakfast of good choices every day. Food staff were very accommodating. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Shuttle van can take you up to one mile, which was a help when it was too hot to walk to Metro station.
