We chose this hotel because the price was great, and were glad we did. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was very clean, and was even better than the photos. You also get the continental breakfast, they have great amenities, used the gym, and equipment was excellent and clean. Great stay.

The rooms were very clean and beds very comfortable. The only issue is that it really is a highway hotel. There is no walking around there. And if you have been in a car for hours you don't necessarily want to have to drive again. There is a shuttle but no other transit. Still if you are in the area and need a clean, comfortable hotel this is great value and highly recommended.

This is a very nice hotel, in a great location if you want to visit more than center city DC. We like it because its clean, a good price, easy to get to. The breakfast is mediocre and the staff at the front desk are not professionals. They're ok, but need a lesson in professionalism. One clerk was leaning against the counter looking terribly bored and made no eye contact. Otherwise, it was a good stay.

Great hotel! Staff was really nice and the location was central to DC and Old Town. Although there were kids in the hotel, I could not hear them. The breakfast staff made sure the breakfast was well stocked. I really enjoyed myself!

This is a great value in hotels in the Alexandria area near National Harbor. They offer a courtesy shuttle to old town which make shopping and restaurants very convenient for guest. Would recommend this hotel.

We stayed 5 nights. We did not have any issues during our stay and the staff was very friendly and courteous. The free shuttle service to the Metro or downtown was priceless. We didn't have to worry about traffic into the city. It was a very good experience.

It is a typical Hampton Inn...decent breakfast, decent and very clean room...a plus is the refrigerator in the room...bathroom sort of small but clean, no fan so you get hot when you shower. Big negatives...AC on one side of the room so the bed side never gets below 70 and that was in the middle of the night. It was 75 when we went to sleep and that is after maintenance checked it!! We had the day off before an evening event, went to the pool to sit in the sun...pool doesn't open until 2 pm d... Read more

No charge for parking unlike other Hilton properties in the area an easy access to metro. Had to be at Washington Nationals stadium at 7:15am and was able to get there in 10 mins via the highway right outside the hotel through Maryland. Quick drive to Old Town and the facility was well kept and staff extremely nice. There were busloads of school trips and other than the buses in the parking lot, I never knew they were there.

We recently stayed four nights to explore Washington DC. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. However, we had multiple issues with the hotel. The breakfast was sub-average. They kept running out of things and it took awhile to refill (especially the waffles - a popular item). The were also out of fruit most of the time. The room was sub-average also. Our door handle was broken. It hung down. Door still worked. The shower curtain kept opening up at the ends resulting in a wet fl... Read more

Loved it. The hotel was clean, well managed and the breakfast was great! The bed was comfortable, the space was ample, free parking. This was a great find. The staff was good not great. They should add another waffle maker. The line for waffles with breakfast is about a 15 minute wait at a buffet.

I've stayed at this property several times in the past while on business in Alexandria. It's conveniently located to Old Town and the interstate, although it's a little confusing getting in. This property is larger than the typical Hampton so it can be busy. The rooms are typical Hampton style. They are a little dated and are showing some wear and tear. Much of this could be due to the heavy volume of tourist traffic (i.e. kids) in the area. My bed was comfortable and the room was reasonab... Read more

Very busy hotel--there was always a line of people at front desk no matter what time of day. When planning our DC Vaca I was looking for a place with :free parking, free internet, free breakfast, a swimming pool, good reviews and close to a metro station . The Hampton Inn had all of this and more. Not only did they have free breakfast, that was a good variety and changed every day, but they have bagged breakfasts to go. The metro station is less than a mile away and they offer shuttle service. It was perfect for our family with 2 teenagers and a preteen. I would definitely recommend.

We took our kids to DC this summer. Instead of spending $$$$ in a DC hotel we thought we would stay right outside the city. This hotel was right off the interstate. We drove to the metro the first time (they have shuttles) but we had car seats and strollers we dint want to have to deal with. The second day we decided to drive from the hotel to DC. it was a quick drive (maybe 15 minutes) to the air and space museum. Plus the hotel has free parking. What set this Hampton apart was its large parking lot which had plenty of room to handle a 6x12 Uhaul trailer behind a large pickup truck. That was really important and their website included enough information for me to be able to figure that out ahead of time. Otherwise, we received the typically consistent excellent accommodations that we've come to expect. The breakfast bar at this hotel was very large and generous as well.

The breakfast was not quite as good as I've had at other Hampton Inns, but it was fine. The issue for me with this hotel is the location. I have NEVER had a worse hotel experience in my life! My husband, children and myself were returning after dark on the DC metro. I called to request the hotel shuttle and was told it would be waiting when we arrived. When it wasn't there, I called again and was told it picked someone else up and would come back for us immediately. We stayed here two nights in mid July. Accommodations were nice, and the staff was friendly. The hotel has easy access to downtown Alexandria, as well as Washington DC. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. The hotel has a convenient shuttle to Alexandria and the Huntington metro station that runs 24 hours.
