The hotel is conveniently located on the high street less than a mile from the Washington Metro. A free trolley service stops at the hotel and runs down to the Potomac. We elected to take a short cab ride from Washington Reagan, although the Metro would have been good too. We rented a Herz car in Alexandria for a long trip south. It was half the cost of renting at the airport. We enjoyed the informative and friendly service at the hotel.

First off, the location of this place is great! It couldn't be any better! Its in a central location and you plenty of options for food, entertainment and everything. We took the metro to Washington DC, to the monuments and museums. It took about 20 mins to get back and forth. Second, the rooms were very well kept. Clean and nice. Enough space for 4 people to people to stay in a one bedroom with two beds in. We had a great time. Didn't get to use the pool but we tried. Third, the service was gr... Read more

We visit the DC area a lot due to having family there. We've been wanting to stay in Old Town, and decided to try the Hampton Inn. It was an easy check-in. It took minutes. The room was good with two queen beds. It was pretty much a typical room: clean, good beds, nice bathroom. The location was excellent. It was within walking distance of many of the store in the Old Town area. There was the breakfast the next morning. It had bacon, a favorite of several in the family. Other than that, it ... Room was decent. I was able to arrive early and get into my room several hours before check in. That really helped me. The complimentary breakfast was good. Staff was very nice. The location was very good. It was walking distance to the metro train to get to the airport - much easier than Uber of taxi. Less than ten minutes from Reagan.

I was a guest at this hotel this past weekend (Memorial Day) and I am had difficulty finding a place to park my rental car at their garage. A construction crew is tying up a good 8 parking slots in garage and the parking spaces are not clearly lined so some of your other guests are taking over two spaces. I have never staying at a Hilton hotel before where the construction contractor has priority over the current hotel guests for parking spaces. When I checked in on Saturday the front desk clerk... This hotel was clean, updated and ideally situated on historic beautiful King Street. Families should not hesitate to use the nearby public transit line with strollers. The station and Metro Line were blocks away and so easy to use, updated and immaculate. Do not bring a car -- just fly into National Airport, purchase Metro passes and take the train a few stops south of the airport and the Hampton Inn King Street is two blocks away. The Hampton located in Old Town is in a great location right on King Street and only a couple blocks to the metro station. The service was excellent, the hotel clean and the breakfasts good. Our room did not have a refrigerator or microwave but we survived without it. Would have been nice not to have to pay $20 for parking but it was indoors.

I have stayed at many Hampton Inns and this one did not measure up. The rooms were clean but parking was very limited, Rooms were small, had no frig, ice machine broken on my floor, some front desk clerks couldn't answer questions about the area. But location is fantastic for metro only a block away. I would stay here again because it is clean reasonable price point and meets basic needs. So I would say positives out weigh negatives.

This was an awesome location with a ton to explore. Restaurants, shops, farmers market on Saturdays, an art gallery, and the metro station right around the corner. The person who checked us in was totally incompetent. He had a problem using the computer and had to keep calling over another staff member. He gave us directions to the parking garage (which was in the back of the building) that were totally wrong and had us driving around in circles, especially with all the one-way streets. The parking spaces were very tight. There is a $20/day parking charge. The bathroom had no towels bars - only a hook on the back of the bathroom door. The breakfast staff... Read more

I did a fair amount of research before settling on this hotel for our 4 day 3 night stay in the DC area. It had to be near a Metro stop, have fairly-priced daily parking, be within walking distance of decent restaurant options and also be near a place like Whole Foods so we could purchase lunch foods and healthy options since we tend to eat like crap when we travel. I always like a Hampton Inn for the predictable but decent breakfast and in this case, an outdoor pool. So, I read a few reviews... Read more

At just over $100 a night and located right on King St makes this an excellent choice for an Alexandria hotel. It's clean and the staff is professional and accommodating. It would better if they had more Queen beds, but you're there to see the area, not stare at the beds. This hotel has a great location, at the west end of the King Street "strip". The location is nice and quiet but you can walk to the waterfront in 15-20 minutes. The rooms and common areas are recently redone, which is nice. The look is clean and modern. On the down side, the elevators are dreadfully slow, the sink water is slow to warm and the old school AC unit leaves you either too hot or too cold. Hotels in DC are a premium, especially during the week. I was lucky to happen upon the Hampton Inn on King Street. First of all, the location is perfect. A five minute walk to the metro. We bought a week long pass and used the metro often each day. Second, the breakfast had many choices and very filling. We brought a piece of fruit and bagel to go for afternoon snacks. Third, the staff was wonderful. Anita works in the am and I can't say enough about her kindness. Next time I'm in DC,... Read more

Although only at the hotel for two nights, the staff treated me as if I were a long time resident. Very friendly atmosphere and the rooms appear to have been recently redone. Breakfast had nice selections. Parking a little tight but manageable. Will defiantly return if a need arises in Alexandria.

2 weekend nights in October 2016 for a conference at the Lorian which is right down the street. Very comfy room. Good black-out shade. I slept good. Wake-up call was on time. Bathroom spacious and nice. Toilet very low, so take note if you have bad knees. Nice breakfast and nice atmosphere.

For an overnight stay the room is okay. A bit small, but there is a microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker. The advertised hot breakfast was a bit disappointing, the food was prepared offsite and brought in, most of it needed to be reheated. The staff will take care of your needs, but are not very friendly. For the right price I might stay here again for 1 night, but would not be my first choice. It is however convenient to Amtrak, the subway and the free trolley.

The hotel is good. All the staff friendly and helpful, breakfast is very good with lots of choice. Car parking is about standard price for Old Town, at least it's a more likely chance of a space. Hotel location was amazing, perfect for King Street metro and Old Town. There is construction currently going on, but it's in the back of the ground floor. I never heard it, and only saw it when I walked up the stairs from the parking. Gripes were very room specific, mine was opposite the gym. The gym ... Read more

We stayed for several days using the hotel as our launching point to explore DC. We loved to convenience to the Blue and Yellow lines. The stop for the free King Street trolley was a great bonus for getting to dinner after a long day in the city. We found Old Town to be a safe and charming neighborhood. The best thing about the hotel was how quiet it was inside our room. Even on a sold out weekend, we never heard any noise from the hallway or adjacent rooms. The staff as friendly. The breakfast ... Location is great for walking to shops & restaurants in Old Town Alexandria. There is also a Trolley Stop in front of the hotel. The hotel appeared to have been recently remodeled. Complimentary breakfast was very nice. Our room was clean & comfortable. On the downside, parking is ridiculously tight. Having read this in a review prior to our trip, we toured Mount Vernon before we checked into hotel, parked & walked to everything in Old Town Alexandria. We tried to walk up the steps from parki... The location is very convenient. Walk out the front door and you're on King Street. It's also a short walk to the train. The area is full of bars and restaurants and seemed very safe. We noticed a lot of very friendly police officers in the area. The hotel was very clean and the staff was outstanding, especially Sheri at the front desk.

Went to the Old Town Hampton this fall for a quick DC-based getaway. We booked it as a means to visit DC and not have to stay there. The hotel is in a convenient location...right on King St, the main shopping/dining/historical artery of Alexandria. Now keep in mind it's at the top part of town, so you either have to walk down to the neat area, or take the free trolley (every 15 mins, picks up right outside hotel). Parking is $20, and you park in a private garage behind the hotel. It's sorta tri... Read more

They have refurbished the rooms inside so the decor etc is all perfectly fine. Strange arrangement where sink is in the main room and bathroom has a glass (opaque) door (so depends how well you value your privacy if you aren't travelling alone) Has a fridge and a microwave in the room and HBO TV. Lots of electricity outputs too. Disappointing was there was no room service which surprised me - also the lift - astonishingly slow, breakfast wasn't too special and is in the lobby. Shower never got... Read more

The hotel was very, very helpful and accommodating to us. We brought 13 AFS exchange students to visit Washington, DC over Veterans' Day weekend. The staff, especially Sheri, Levi, and group manager Tina, were very helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms were great, they allowed us to use their AV room for a pizza dinner and movie evening, we had parking on site, and the location is wonderful, very near the King Street Metro station. Breakfast was fine and their are a number of decent restauran... Read more

I brought a group of 13 AFS exchange students to visit Washington, DC, along with other adult chaperones. We were very happy with the rooms, the staff, and the location. We will plan to return next year because of our very positive experience.

Location very close to the Metro, made travel back and forth to DC very convenient. Clean rooms, front desk helpful. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. Use the free trolley that runs every 15 minutes.

The location is great, within easy walking distance of the Metro and all the attractions in Old Town. Perfect choice for a weekend getaway. The rooms were clean, the free breakfast typical to what you get at this chain (which is sufficient with us, egg, pastries, cereals, yogurt, etc) and the staff was wonderful (which is always an important consideration for me. They were efficient and very helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Staff that greeted me was not friendly. Staff lied to me about getting parking fee removed from bill because of their mistake. Room small and things that are broken don't get fixed. Parking very tight.

This hotel fits the Hampton Inn mold with a good staff, clean room and common area and a nice breakfast. It is at the end of King Street in Old Town so the free town shuttle is needed. Not a problem since the shuttle stops at the hotel and runs the length of King St every 15 minutes. The hotel is only one block from the train that goes into DC so can be used for both Old Town and DC.

My husband and I had a 2 night stay at the hotel. We requested another room for the second night as the street noise in the early morning hours was very loud. They were quick to accommodate us and we had a very night's sleep. The hotel room was great, the bed extremely comfortable and the breakfast each morning was delicious. It is only 1 1/2 blocks to the Metro to DC...quite convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again on our next trip to Alexandria and Washingt... Read more

The room was clean and in good shape. It fullfilled all the requirements that I have when travelling on business. The room was also quiet as it wasn't facing any street with traffic. The breakfast included in the price was very basic and I preffered to go outside and get a real and good breakfast.
