I stayed at this hotel for 4 days. Room was clean but the no smoking rule is crap. people do what they want at this hotel. Alot of tricking on the property so you just see random people sitting and wandering around. Which isn't really safe with children. The women that work in the office were nice but the guy was rude and wanted to be someone he wasn't. Be careful at night and make sure you don't leave any valuables in your car because someone is out all hours of the day and night walking ... Read more

This hotel is somewhat seedy, but the room was just clean enough. There was a half-opened bag of corn chips on the desk when I arrived, and a lot of hair on the shower wall. But our biggest complaint was during check-in. We booked the room an hour earlier via over the phone, since we had a couple of special requests? we needed a ground floor room and we had a dog. The agent put us on hold while he contacted the hotel directly, or so we think. This agent returned and assur... Read more

We travelled to the area this past weekend to attend my cousin??s graduation. When searching for accommodations online I came across this Red Roof Inn. It was much more affordable than other options. I checked the reviews on here and it had pretty average ratings for families. We had followed the recommendation of other??s reviews and requested a room in the main building as the second building is rumored to be noisy on the weekends. The front desk staff was very accommodating to this requ... Read more

Adequate for a one night stay. The room was clean. The best feature of the room was the oversize desk. I agree with others that people do what they want as far as the non-smoking policy. it was common to see people smoking on the 2nd floor balconies and dumping ashes and cigarettes over the balcony. My car was surrounded by cigarettes in the morning. But at least the room itself did not smell of smoke.

Room was clean except the floor needed mopping. No pool or breakfast but coffee in the lobby and a Wawa's in walking distance. Hotel was willing to give a refund if needed, family emergency had come up. I would stay again for an overnight trip but with the lack amenities I probably wouldn't stay with the kids again.

OK, this is not a top of the line five star hotel but for a hotel that accepts pets without additional fees it is very nice. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The cleaning staff was very warm, courteous and willing to assist in any way. Again there is no continental breakfast or ice machines in the lobby but there is also no associated pets fees which is the reason we decided to stay here. In comparison to the other places that allow pets which are much more e... Read more

Well first once again the front desk staff is superb.. I believe her name is Nicole, pleasant and soft spoken. Took care of my express check in needs in a very timely manner. Smoke free rooms clean grounds.. My 1st housekeeper seemed to not be pleased with her job,my 2nd housekeeper never returned with my clean towels n bags etc. I went to the office and the lady the took care of me, I thank you.. But still over all I still love the quality of service I get when staying at red roof inn..

I stayed here on June 16th thru the 18th for the Anime Mid Atlantic Anime Convention at the Chesapeake Conference Center. This hotel is very cheap compared to the other hotels in the area. But it's also very average. If you're looking for a cheap place that doesn't look like a hole in the wall then this place is great. The hotel was somewhat quiet, other than a few of the other hotel guest were being abit loud one night. But other than that the hotel was good. Bathroom is very small, and t... Read more

Red Roof Inn has average rates. Inn has been in operation many years, having two long rectangle shape buildings, each two floors. Exterior was clean and seemed freshly painted. Rooms were a little small, however, this size was the norm for these older Inns. Beds were average. Bathroom was very nice. Loved the shower. However, faucet in sink was loose. Telephone did not work, but management immediately replaced the phone.. The air conditioning was excellent, the best of any motel , hotel, ... Read more

I arrived late to the area and walked into a busy lobby but was still treated quickly with respect by night manager who paid attention to my request for a ground floor room and had it ready for me. Thanks Karen!

We stayed for two nights at the Red Roof Inn, first night a few people not only inside their hotel room, but were drinking outside and there was a spot on the sheets. The front desk was rude when asked if they had any paper plates. The next morning, a guest was arrested and put in handcuffs outside our room. We took our own trash and asked for towels, when checking out I left a pair of men's shoes on the sink to let them know they did not belong to us, obviously the rooms do not get cleaned prop... We wanted a cheap hotel on the way to the Outer Banks and chose this Red Roof Inn, the first Red Roof I think I've ever stayed in. It was easy to find right off the highway and the man at the desk, Ronnie Holmes, was very polite and helpful when we checked in. We found our room - 215 - and were pleasantly surprised. It looked fairly updated and quite clean, though it did smell like old smoke even though it's a nonsmoking room. But it wasn't bad enough to really bother me. I loved the laminate fl... Read more

Comforter was visibly dirty with lots of dirt spots, tub was filthy, the bathroom door was broken so you had to jam it shut for it to shut most of the way, had to use Clorox wipes to wipe certain things down. Got another room and it was better but none of them should look like that. Friendly service though.

Motel was fine. Clean and quiet wife and I were in Chesapeake for 3 days to watch our grandson. We like a little down time so booked a budget motel. Ronnie at the desk very helpful. We will likely stay here again.

Pulled up to the hotel around 4pm. Hotel was very busy, yet desk clerk remained calm and courteous to every customer. Older hotel with updated (cheaply) rooms. Room (253) was clean. We were concerned at first since a number of people were hanging around smoking. One person set up a small boba grill outside his room. Surprisingly, the place was very quet after 8pm! The area is close to route 64 and there is plenty of shopping and any number of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Right n... Read more

This hotel was comfortable, clean, and the staff was great! Ronnie Holmes at the front desk was very courteous and super helpful. My son accidentally left his watch in the room. Not only did the housekeeper turn it in, but manager Kevin phoned me and mailed the watch directly to my home free of charge. I was very impressed with this level of service and will definitely return to this hotel next time I visit Chesapeake.

Made sure I was all set with directions. Would definitely come back. At checkout team member Nicole was amazing explained how to get to breakfast spots. Love her!!!

The check in process was quick (we used trip advisor). The staff is pleasant and helpful. The rooms are clean and the AC works well. Decent for the price. It's situated in fairly close proximity to a lot of area restaurants and attractions. The rooms could really use some mini fridges and microwaves. The wifi wasn't very good in our building and it cut out constantly. The TV was nice but it seemed to be in a permanently dim mode and it was hard to see unless all the lights were off.

The hotel is right off 64 and we stayed one night on our way south to OBX. We booked last minute online and options were limited. We booked a ??Superior King??. This is a budget hotel and basic. The staff was good, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and there was a mini fridge. The drawback is that rooms open up to the parking lot. Our room was on the first floor and there were other guests riding motorcycles and making a lot of noise, shouting and playing music at 2 in the morni... Read more

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel Sunday-thursday. When we go to check in, the front desk clerk wasn't very friendly. She didn't smile or even greet us. It seemed like we were more of a nuisance to her. She told us after we checked in that the room attendant would have to bring us towels, which is no big deal. That night, we still had no towels and called the front desk to ask for some. We were told that they were out. Thankfully we had our beach towels. The next night we call for towel... Read more

We arrived at 2 PM on Friday and there were no rooms ready. After an hour we finally got a room but towels didn't arrive till 5 PM. After not getting enough towels, we found that the bedspread on my bed had a cigarette hole in it. This in a smokeless hotel. The bed skirt had something on it that looked like something of a sexual nature and that is all I will say about that. There was something on the same bed that smelled like a filthy dog on the pillows or near the headboard. It looked like the... Read more

The room and bed were very comfortable. It was well located to visit family just blocks away. One of the gentleman gave great directions to my destination without difficulty. Only thing i disliked was the wood flooring, it always felt sticky but it could of been the humidity.
