Clean, inexpensive hotel for the night. The Staff was pleasant and could recommend places to dine in the area. The room was clean, nothing fancy. The elevator was out of service. Located right off hwy 89, Gas station and Dunkin-Donuts was within walking distance. You had to drive about a mile to get to a restaurant. A Chinese and a pizza place will deliver. The room included microwave and small refrigerator. I would stay there again if it is only for a night or two, anything longer and I would lo... Read more

Just returned home from a 4 day stay in St. Albans. Accommodations in the immediate area are limited to La Quinta, Econo Lodge and the Cadillac Motel, which is where we usually stay. This time we travelled with our dog and chose La Quinta because they are pet friendly. We had a good stay and I would not hesitate to stay there again. It's located right off I-89 (traffic noise not an issue) with a 24 hour gas station/convenience store adjacent and another just up the road. No more than a ... Read more

This is the only brand name hotel in town and they act like it. The location is good and the hotel property is fine. The quality of service is lacking. There is a Hampton Inn being built which will bring competition and hopefully help with value!

I would not stay at this hotel again. It is not clean, staff is not very friendly and it was very loud. We were on the first floor at the end of the hall. We stayed for about four nights and the room was not cleaned well at all. Unfortunately it is the only hotel available in St. Albans. I would rather make the drive from Burlington every day then to stay in this run down hotel.

The La Quinta is a very typical one half mile off the interstate cookie cutter type of lodging, not that this is a bad thing. To me, it was a bit on the pricy side but this is quite often the case for lodging that close to the highway. What it lacked from my view is a feeling of character and I think that I may have been happier with the other roadside Motel located right in town where one may feel a bit more sense of Americana. That being said my over view was that it was just perfectly fine f... Read more

Stayed in Feb for a family emergency, 4 nights- it was very clean, quiet and the staff was very good. Would have been 5 star but for small issues- the lobby printer didn't work (no boarding passes could be printed), and the elevator was non-operational, tho they did work on it daily to fix it. My handicapped family member could not, therefore, visit our rooms- however, we spent most of an evening chatting in the lobby, watching sports, near the fire, and the staff was friendly about it. I plan to... Read more

Stayed here twice during June of 2016. Booked the king bed room with sleeper sofa. Accommodations were nice and clean. King bed was comfortable and pillows were good too. Bathroom is standard but clean. Did not have breakfast there so I can't comment on that. It's close to Rt 89 and Rt. 7. Restaurants in St. Albans were close and good as well. The rooms have double shades to block out the sun, which helped a lot. There are only two things I did not like. The one end of the hotel is nex... Read more

We arrived in the Burlington area a night early for our conference. We had a really hard time finding a bed for the night. College orientation and a Canadian holiday had everything full. We found the Laquinta on travelocity and made the short drive up the road for the night. Friendly staff. Nice, clean room. We were glad to have a bed. It was a bit pricey for a LaQuinta but considering the apparent shortage of rooms, we couldn't complain.

This was reversed from the last stay of course it was heat issues for winter and AC issues for summer. I'm surprised at the lack of concern for a hotel which charges such a large fee for the room it was in poor operation for the price.

We stayed at this La Quinta for 3 nights for a large family reunion that was being held at a nearby park. The hotel staff is very pleasant. Our room was clean and comfortable, including a comfortable bed. We had no trouble with the AC as another recent guest had. Our only issues were as follows (and they were minor for us): We stayed in a handicapped accessible room only because it was the only room left when we reserved (we are not handicapped). This room includes a very large walk-in sho... Read more

I stayed at the La Quinta in St. Albans recently and while I believe that this place is the nicest in the area, it is a little on the expensive side. The place was clean and nice, but wasn't very busy. There are very few choices of places to stay, but this is one of the nicer places.

Passing through town whilst on the road north - stayed for a couple of days. Rooms clean, staff friendly - as a Brit I was taken aback by the picnic plates and throwaway nature of the breakfast items but all was fine once you got used to it. Id stay again. It deserves more than an 'average' but there isn't a 'good' category here!

Several years ago, we were invited to a family reunion on the shore of Lake Champlain. We had to find local accommodations nearby in St.Albans, Vermont and we were accommodated at La Quinta on Fairfax Road. This was my first experience at La Quinta and cannot emphasize enough how professional and hospitable the staff were from end-to-end in every way. Perhaps this says more about the manager's hiring finesse, but really, I must tell you I did not expect this level of service and warmth. I am a b... Read more

The St Albans La Quinta is always clean, the staff is friendly and the hotel is well maintained. The only reason for an "Average" is the price! It's clear that they understand they have the market cornered in the area and they take advantage of it. When we've stayed here we've spent as much for a night as we've spent for some of the nicer places we visit. If the prices were around $130-$150 with tax, I'd give this an "Excellent", but to spend more than $200 for a "Plain Jane" hotel room by th... Read more

While visiting family in the area we stayed at the La Quinta in St Albans! The customer service was great, which is always a great way to start the stay! It is right next to the highway, but you wouldn't know it, the rooms are nice and quiet. Hotel is very conveniently located and easy to get to! We would stay her again!

We were in St. Albans in late July for a family gathering, and needed a night's lodging. Our several families settled on the La Quinta. After spending some time wandering around St. Albans, how I wished there was lodging in town - the La Quinta is out on I-89, and getting into St. Albans is mile and a half drive. After discovering gems like 14th Star Brewing Co., the ability to stumble back to our rooms on foot would have made a delightful time in St. Albans even more magical. The La Quinta ... Read more

First bad experience at a La Quinta hotel. Mattresses were lumpy and sagging. Hotel needs updating. Clean rooms and good breakfast but too expensive for a poor nights sleep. For a supposed high end La Quinta, it did not meet our expectations.

This hotel is clean. The front desk staff are not very with it , and are not very inviting . Not very updated , stayed overnight and went shopping. This hotel was picked off a hotel site( not Hotwire ). Breakfast is okay , but hate eating off of Styrofoam plates . Things need to be cleaned up and modernized !

We stayed at this LaQuinta becuase to break up our road trip a bit. It was easy to find and the room was clean and reasonably priced. We didn't take advantage of the continental breakfast because it is only served until 9:30am and we just don't get up and around that early on vacation.

Basic older style hotel with very large room. Table with 2 chairs for snacks, computer, etc. Clean and comfortable. A/C unit very noisy....may want to bring earplugs. Choose top floor as when we were there several people with work boots were staying there too. Breakfast was minimal. Best choice in date.

Needing a place to stay during a recent trip to Sheldon SPrings Vermont to meet my Uncle and wife for the first time (I was adopted and just found my biological family at 55 years old!), as we did not wish to intrude on family we did not yet know, this was a great choice within a few minutes of their residence. We've stayed here many times and have to say this trip was below par for what we were used to in this hotel. Room wasn't real clean and smelled less than fresh, bed had horrible, big yellow stains on mattress at head level and the pillows really had a smell, there was no hot water so baby had to shiver through a tepid sponge bath, windows were filthy, dog barking, and something we assumed was dog urine all over the elevator. Breakfast wasn't had as there is not enough seating and all tables were... Read more

We stay at this hotel each year on business because there are no other hotels in the area that are even one star. We paid 175 dollars for a double bed room that was outdated, musty smelling and had two small flying bugs on the bed. The hallways were stifling hot! Breakfast, pancake machine was out of order, hardboiled eggs were from yesterday. The one staff member we saw the entire time was the front desk person. She was kind. The bed was actually comfortable. Although I didn't sleep well as my ... Read more

We booked LaQuinta in Burlington, VT via and they were overbooked. That was a error, but LaQuinta gave us a room free in St. Albans (20 min. away). I felt they didn't have to do that but they did. Place was in great shape and hospitality was great too. Breakfast was included. No complaints here!

Liked: The location was great. Our room was very clean. It smelled clean but not like antiseptics. The breakfast area and hallways were all clean. The hotel was very quite. Didn't like: We had two queen beds, both were lumpy and need to be changed. The coffee was terrible at breakfast. This was very surprising in a state that has the Green Mountain Coffee Company which was available at the gas station next door.

This hotel is clean, convenient and has all the amenities one comes to expect of a mid-grade lodging (Wifi, breakfast, gym, pool). The location is superb if you're passing through, as it is right off the highway, 2 miles from quaint down town St. Alban and is walking distance to a nice truck stop; which has food and a good selection of locally brewed beers sold as cold 22 oz singles. The hotel staff was cordial and the breakfast continental. The reason this review did not get 4 stars was becau... Read more
