Although many motels are in Rutland, I attended a convention headquarted in the Holiday Inn, It was a big place, and very nice. The biggest surprise was in the dining room, where the meals were outstanding. I also appreciated that the Rutland city buses stopped at the door and you could ride for just 25¢, They also provided shuttle service to the Amtrak station.

Up front, this isn't a review of the hotel as we didn't stay here. We live nearby and went here for Easter Brunch. We actually expected it to be much better than it was. Quite honestly, the regular Sunday Brunch, which is less expensive, is much better than what they put on for Easter Brunch. First, they hosted it in their conference room, not the restaurant. I'm sure this was because they were expecting more people than what the restaurant seating could accommodate. But that killed the atmosph... Read more

I was profoundly disappointed to see that they have discontinued the free hot breakfast. This is a noisy, older, aging hotel. I stay here every month on business and am a platinum member. The only thing that made it an exceptional experience was a terrific free hot breakfast. Now I will be looking for another hotel in town for my next stay. Also found a long hair on the sheets that was not mine. Makes me wonder how often they do the laundry.

I'm on a business trip and usually look forward to coming back to my room for a shower and rest. Here goes my blabbering pie eating contraption. Pros: gym is decent. Better than most hotels I've been to since they have a few more machines a little more to do to keep me out of my room. Location is walking distance to 99 and close enough to Hampton inn where I can change my reservations Cons: the hotel looks like a setup for a 1970s theme house party. The clock is this old plastic wooden looking... Read more

Stopped here with Virgin Holidays on a recent ski trip. Rooms were clean, with fridge and spacious. Bar and food were great - we had a buffalo burger. Super tasty! Plenty around to do - even if there's no snow. Would definitely return should we go skiing again. Love the USA!

Was here on business. Room was average for the price point. Air conditioning was kinda noisy. Tv was average. Had a fridge and microwave. Used the fridge but not the microwave. Odd pricing for the free breakfast. It's free for limited items and an up sell for better options. This annoyed me so I opted out of breakfast. Mostly retail stuff nearby. A bunch of decent restaurants within two miles.

I stayed here July 2-4, 2016. They are renovating the second floor. There is a very bad smell in Room 227. There is the smell of paint in the hallway, however, this was not the smell in my room. It seems to be in the carpet. My friend across the hall did not have this awful smell in her room. I had 1 hand towel with what appeared to be a 2 inch black mold spot. Bottom of the shower curtain was showing pink mold. Also, the vent in the bathroom was producing a loud hum. I don't think it was the ... Read more

All the staff, particularly Maks, Margaret, Gloria & Steve on the front desk have been amazing, showing outstanding customer care. Our stay was fine. The hotel is undergoing remodeling, and we had a remodeled room. It had a few of the regrettable quirks of remodeled hotel rooms that are overall pleasant, but not complete in detail work (for example, the toilet was seated on a shim, which was a little mystifying). What wasn't right the staff apologized for and handled (example: no soap in the room). The common areas were pleasant. While we did not use the pool, when we walked through the area, the hot tub seemed a littl... Read more

We stayed here the night of my brother's wedding. The room we stayed in was very nice. The services that I did receive, were also good. My wife and I stayed one night, in room 109, a wheelchair accessible room. The stay was quiet, no major problems. But there were some minor annoyances. The room had not enough light; there was a side table and light on one side of the bed but not the other. The bathroom door opens out instead of in (always harder for wheel chair users to close the door). Floors were carpeted in the room and hallway, also more difficult for manual wheelchair users. There aren??t really any luxury chains in Rutland, so I gave this hotel a shot, figuring it would at least be comfortable in a generic, mid-range way. Wow, was I wrong.
