The two rooms in the Essex Building were very well appointed and extremely clean. They provided a great family setting and the facility was very nice. The indoor pool (extra large) was clean and neat. Also warm as the weather outside was below zero. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the fitness rooms, racket ball and basketball courts in the pool building. We picked up pizza in nearby Windsor with the help of a map and info sheet provided by the hotel and enjoyed it in the dining area of the ro... Read more

Stayed with a bunch of friends for a weekend ski trip. We were in one of the 3 bedroom villas. The room was gorgeous, clean, and had plenty of space for everyone to hang out and relax. We didn't explore the grounds too much, but the pool and saunas were a nice perk after a day of skiing.

Just returned from a week in a 3 bedroom condo. We also spent a week last winter and the renovations that have been done are beautiful! The unit was immaculate and the staff is always so helpful and pleasant. The entire resort is well maintained and we enjoyed an afternoon of swimming and my 6 month old granddaughter loved the swings in the playground. My only comment is that last year we were in the main building where there was a cart and elevator---this year we were in the Bennington bu... Read more

My wife and I stayed here 3 years ago and had a good time, and so returned again for our Anniversary weekend. The suite was beautiful. The bed was a little hard, but not that bad. Loved the fake fireplace, stocked kitchen, complimentary coffee, etc. But the extras left something to be desired. The ping pong table is gone and half of the arcade was out of order. The free wifi was essentially non existent, unless you like sitting on the kitchen counter and holding the phone against the wal... Read more

We had exchanged our time share week to go here. The accommodations were beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We ate at their restaurant the first night. The found was awesome. We both had salmon with cauliflower "risotto" with diced apples accented with chives. For dessert I had Berry Crumble with apples, served in small mason jars with vanilla ice cream on the side, which was delicious. My husband had Homemade strawberry shortcake, also a winner. The chef, himself, came out to ma... Read more

We recently stayed 4 nights at the resort. Our 1 bedroom loft was well decorated and had kitchen appliances, The resort is remote with limited services. Restaurant is only open 5 nights in the week. If you like a peaceful area with little traffic--this is the place to stay.

We are actually here now the place is extremly well kept. The units all look brand new. Not much to do on site. You have the gym facilities which is very nice with two huge pools indoors and outdoors heated 5:30 - 8:30. Main building has theatre, restaurant, shop, fireplace, and arcade. The arcade had all working games but very limited. Arcade: air hockey, racing game, deer hunter, skill cranes and prize The skill crane is impossible we spent $$ on it. My wife, stepson, and myself stayed here from Sunday to Thursday. We had a 2 bedroom lock off. The staff upon arrival was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean. My main complaint was that the bathrooms were very small. Barely room to put our toiletries away. There were only 3 barbecue grills on the whole property, located near the main building. That would mean that I would have to drive down just to barbecue, not exactly what I had in mind. All in all we had a nice stay for the week, bu... Read more

We have stayed here three times in a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom unit. They recently renovated and it is even better. Large rooms, comfortable mattresses and pillows, great bedroom outlet for all your electronics, good lighting in living room and bedrooms, and the restaurant was terrific. The kitchen is well equipped. Only wish they had a mirror in the bedroom and better instructions on how to operate the DVD. Lighting could be better in the bathrooms for applying make-up. This was our first time going to Ascutney Mountain Resort. Overall it was a nice place in a beautiful setting. We had a loft in the Bennington Building. It was on the third floor and, with no elevator, we had to traverse 40 steps each way. This is something that you should check on when you make reservations. It would be extremely difficult for the elderly or those with health problems. I think the main building had elevators. The staff was very nice. Our kids loved trying to catch frogs... Read more

Our room was great but not a lot to do at the resort. We found a lot of the local restaurants and stores were closed early during the week nights. The restaurant at the resort was closed for 2 nights so our options were limited. The scenery is very nice and there are a few nice towns within 30 minutes drive.

My family decided to try this Holiday Inn Club Vacation location for the first time. We arrived late and had no issues getting our room keys to settle in. Our unit was a three bedroom with two bedrooms upstairs and the master bedroom in a lockout unit. We have grown accustomed to certain amenities at the other Holiday Inn Club Vacation locations at which we have stayed (e.g., large tub in master bathroom, sponges in kitchen) that we did not find at this location. The master bathroom was smal... Read more

Previously Askutney Mountain Resort, this newly refurbished Holiday Inn Club Vacations timeshare resort in Brownsville is simply gorgeous. We stopped by to check it out for visiting relatives and were pleasantly surprised. The suites have been luxuriously updated. Would not hesitate to recommend it for overflow visiting family and friends.

Not being winter folks, this was our first stay in a ski lodge. Expecting just a room, we found ourselves in a spacious, two-story suite with a full kitchen, living and dining room with an upstairs bedroom and bath. The facility was obviously quite new--elegant without being extravagant. Our stay was for only two nights, but the kitchen would have been a bonus for a longer stay. In the scale of north-central Vermont, the location was great for day trips. we were there visiting friends who live... Read more

This is a beautiful hotel located in a beautiful location. We had a three bedroom suite and it was gorgeous. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom and the living room had a pull out couch. Everything was sparkling clean when we arrived. The hotel's dinning room was closed the two nights we stayed, but with a kitchen in the suite and a number of places in the area, it wasn't an inconvenience. We thought we might take advantage of the pool area, but we didn't get a chance, so I can't speak to that ... Read more

Recently updated condo-style resort at base of Mt. Ascutney. Former ski lodge, now ideal for mountain bikers & hikers. The property is comfortable, quiet, tastefully updated. Construction continuing on the ground floor common areas, and a few buildings are still being updated. Great pools & fitness centers. No hot tubs, though. Fantastic on-site restaurant, but it's not open everyday. Staff throughout is polite, helpful, and super-friendly. There are all sorts of hiking trails on the mountain... Read more

Holiday Inn Club Vacations Ascutney is a place we like to go to relax. They have two pools, one is outside the other is inside and is 86 degree Fahrenheit. An exercise room that you need a second pair of clean shoes to wear. The locker is clean and great. We walk the trails that are close, but they do go up a mountain. Walking down is challenging because it can be step. The thing I like is when we get tired going up, out is down. The view is great from the open spots and the woods are relaxing. ... Read more

I came here on a business trip, which is not what this hotel is for. Gorgeous room with kick-butt A/C, but postage stamp-sized bathroom. Beware if you are disabled or injured, you'd have to specifically request a building with an elevator. And beware of foot stomping from the room above, the ceiling is a bit thin. No breakfast served, and it's a drive into town, very inconvenient. Views? I'm from the North Carolina mountains, and the view here lacked any distance and was mostly obscured by ... Read more

We stayed here for five nights this past week. It was our first visit to this resort, but we've been to several other Holiday Inn Vacation Club properties. This was no Orange Lake, but then none of their other properties are. That said, we really enjoyed our stay overall. First, getting there: You'd better have good GPS because there is absolutely NO Holiday Inn signage until you actually arrive at the main building. The Holiday Inn Club leaves a lot on the table, but is a beautiful place to stay. The price for a post labor day stay was nothing short of expensive. Perhaps a lack of competition, but $201 for a night is not begging people to come back. We had a villa with a beautiful kitchen and living room, yet a tiny bedroom and bathroom. The grounds are spectacular and once again, the owner leaves money on the table by not opening up the defunct ski resort the property sits on. Sales would explode if they m... Read more

We were here last year and the resort was undergoing refurbishing. We decided to come back and check out the changes. The unit we were in is in the main building and is very nice. The weird part about the kitchen is you HAVE to open the fridge to open the dishwasher! I would really like to have bathrooms on both levels but that is not the case in the loft units. I booked and stayed with the hopes of a relaxing weekend in Vermont. What I found was a resort that was one of the inner circles of hell! The staff was poorly trained, unprofessional, inadequately prepared, and downright awful.
