This hotel and its service was A1. The only issue we had with the place is it is an area with a lot of transients. Services for transients and homeless are in a two block area of the property. However, there is new building going on in the area so that may become a moot issue very soon. We made the mistake of having a late lunch at Temple Square. When we returned to the hotel for the Manager's Reception, we were surprised that they had hot dogs, large pretzels, fruit and many other items. ... Read more

I have stayed at many Homewood Suites over the last eleven years and this is one of the best that I have stayed at. The suites are spacious and clean and the staff were great. They put out a tasty breakfast buffet of warm and cold foods that changes up from day to day, so you won't have to eat the same thing everyday.

Clean and comfortable room, especially the 2 bedroom suite with access to the balcony! Breakfast a bit disappointing for gf travellers - staff did not know what was in the 'egg' like disks or whether the potoato disks were gf and just basic fruit but it was free so oh well, I had a small kitchen to make my own safe gf food :)

About the most friendly staff I have encountered in 16 years on the road, from top to bottom! TERRIFIC fitness room, with enough weights and machines to get a very good workout. Breakfast was still interesting even after being there for 5 weeks. Great location for restaurants with many types of food available within walking distance.

Homewood Suites is our go-to hotel when we travel with our children. The rooms are large and they have several room options available to fit the number of people in our group without having to book separate rooms. I also love that there is a kitchenette so we can store snacks and water bottles and even eat in if we feel inclined. The suites have a sitting room with the kitchenette that make a great place to gather or watch TV without being in a room where someone is sleeping or has there belongi... Read more

This hotel is mostly nice and the staff are great but it is surrounded by many homeless people! The park across the street is a camp for horrible smelly feces infested homeless and is right across from a homeless shelter. Every morning when I went to my car a ragged homeless person was sleeping right next to it. I went for a walk the first night and you can't go anywhere without walking by dirty homeless people, many of whom are fairly young. It's dangerous and there are no restaurants you woul... Read more

We stayed here twice over the last 2 weeks. Our first visit was June 7-9 and our last visit was June 19. On the first visit, we saw the homeless outside. It was disturbing, but not so bad to cause me to take the time to find another suite hotel for our return trip, which was just an overnight before an early flight. ON JUNE 19, we arrived about 30 minutes before check-in at 2:30pm, and saw numerous homeless in front of the hotel, with law enforcement moving them back, away from the doors. ... Read more

Even staff questions us walking outside in evening. A lot of homeless wandering streets, seems social services nearby. Park across street filled with day and overnight homeless just surviving as best they are able. Rooms clean, nice social at night, breakfast in morning decent. No restaurants really close by.

Stayed for 1 night with husband in June and was a little nervous when we drove up to see plenty of "down on their luck" folks in the adjacent park and around the hotel. The hotel is right next to a train station, and is part of an urban environment so this is part of the equation. Parking garage has a security guard who watches who enters the hotel elevator. Hotel room and breakfast were great and we took a long walk through the city with no problem.

Located in a bad neighborhood near a homeless shelter. The hotel had to have police officers patrolling the area. The suite had not been cleaned very thoroughly. There was dirt in the grooves of the door moldings, the bathroom floor was dirty, the rugs and furniture were stained. The suite could have been very nice if it were properly maintained.

Great hotel. Unfortunately, it is located in an area surrounded by homeless people; not a few, but a great number of them. Lots of police around the hotel. I don't know if there is a police station near by, but there were just as many police walking around as there were homeless people. I had no bad experience from either homeless people or police, but it was awkward to be walking around among them.

Overall the hotel is very nice. Two complaints, first, I couldn't sleep because there was a spot light outside my window shining in and the curtains don't close. The hotel was great, looked very clean and new, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only problem is that if you're planning on walking around town from the hotel, especially in the evening or at night, it is not that safe. I hate to give this a bad review because we have loved other Homewood Suite locations but from the moment we stepped into our room it had a strong chlorine/musty smell. It was bad enough that I canceled our reservation and we went to another hotel. It was at the beginning of a less desirable neighborhood and I felt better when we went to a central downtown location. This location is very close to core downtown but away from all the traffic. Borders a large park. Also a great Italian deli and bakery are right on the corner making for a wonderful morning walk.Parking is underground with very easy access to elevators straight into the lobby. Free hot breakfast was passable but, as usual, coffee was dreadful.

Overall the hotel itself is a great hotel. The breakfasts were great and different every day, which I find is rare. Suites are spacious and accommodating. As expected, very clean, tidy and rooms tended promptly during mornings. Excellent location for Conference center if you want a 10-15 mins walk to / from. Break. Complimentary breakfast and evening snack/drinks all good and all staff very attentive.

Overall the hotel was very good. The rooms were clean and staff was friendly. They served a hot breakfast every morning and Monday - Thursday food was served in the evening. The only complaint is that Beer and wine was offered in the evening but soda was not.

The rooms are large with a kitchenette. The complimentary breakfast and evening social hour were very satisfying and perfect for what we needed. The staff was phenomenal in every way. Stay here! Prices were high due an IT conference that was in town. Normally they are much lower.

Enjoyed my stay, everything was good, if you need good wifi, don't stay in a corner room, it was not very reliable but loved the corner room as it had extra space. Location of hotel was good, free parking.
