Midway Utah is absolutely amazing. The Homestead Resort is amazing. Just when you think it doesn't get much better, it does. The staff at The Homestead knows exactly how to treat people and service businesses, their customer service is beyond compare.

I decided to book this stay via their website rather than thru Orbitz which is where I usually book my vacations. They had a Web special that claimed to have a lower rate than Orbitz + a $20 resort credit that could be used for the Homestead crater. When I got there, I was told the rate was exactly $20 more than what I was expecting to pay from the reservation I had made! They could not give me a good explanation other than to say that it was because it was the Web special. So I'm paying for ... Read more

We went to the Homestead for an anniversary and found that the grounds were very nice, but the bed was another story. It was so hard I ended up curling up on the love-seat to kind-of sleep. We ate at Simon's for Dinner, which was o.k., service was great, and my wife loved the salmon and the brie/apple appetizer. My prime rib was o.k., and the chocolate cake was really good.

Great stay in family bunk room. Clean well appointed room with another small room with bunk beds. Very nice and polite check-in staff. Nice indoor and outdoor pools. Sauna, 2 restaurants and a bar.Brought back many memories for me as I grew up in Heber. well maintained property. Highly recommend The Homestead Resort.

Visited the Homestead a week ago and enjoyed our stay. While the room we stayed in was somewhat dated (but it is a 130 year old resort after all) it was quaint, clean and quiet -- . The grounds were nice with trees, grass and the sound of birds singing. The staff was friendly and service good. The weather while somewhat unsettled and a little cool when we were there was still enjoyable. I enjoyed a swim in the indoor pool and hot tub which is filled from a natural hot spring. My wife even enjoye... Read more

My husband and I have been going to The Homestead since 1998. It has slowly gone down hill-picking up great speed the past 7 or so years. Just went recently we had horrible experiences. Sat and waited for 15 minutes in Simon's. When we kindly mentioned it to our server, she treated us with resentment and hostility. The morning we were checking out, we had someone literally pounding on our door. It was only 9:00 in the morning and we had the Do Not Disturb sign on the knob. It was one of the empl... Read more

About thirty minutes outside of Park City, UT lies the quaint little city of Midway nestled in a valley, surrounded on all sides by the beautiful Wasatch mountains where one can get away and experience the vibe of a bygone era -The Homestead is designed to give the look and feel of an old homestead, with several outlying structures (or large "houses‚??) laid out in a oblique manner around a fountain in the center. The crater here is a volcanic cavern with water from a mineral springs inside. You... Read more

We took a chance and got a decent price on Hotwire for this hotel. I am not sure that I would have wanted to pay more for this resort, but I was overall satisfied with everything. Definitely not a 4 star but a solid 3.5 with some help. The room itself was spacious and beds and linens were quite comfortable. There are no refrigerators or microwaves being a resort with an on-site restaurant, however, due to the casual type of rooms/suites on the property I feel they are more suited to have these i... There's a lot of great potential here at the Homestead. My family stayed there two weeks ago for a wedding and got two rooms (116 and 117). We arrived on a Friday evening and checked out on the following Sunday morning. The location is amazing. Lots of beautiful scenery surrounds the resort, and it's apparent that the owners have a really great piece of property. However, what's a little disappointing is that the resort has not been well maintained and could use a lot of renovating. The rooms ... Read more

We stayed at the Homestead for our anniversary this year. We have always heard of the golf course (we don't play as much as we used to), and thought it would be fun for a change. We were definitely disappointed and won't be returning. 1. The carpets were stained and very dirty. 2. The bathroom was very dated. A few bugs. Towels were from the local YMCA. 3. Bedding was extremely dated. Decor was very poor. 4. The lawn were all brown, the parking lot was very unkept, and the grounds overa... Read more

Clean, comfortable, contemporary country charm. Main building plus multiple house with very large double queen or king rooms. Surroundings are spectacular. Tennis or golf if you're so inclined. Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. Outdoor natural mineral spring bath and mineral spring crater. Lovely spot.

We LOVED staying at Homestead for our family reunion. We had 100+ family members for an extended 4 generation family reunion. Staff was amazing and very helpful with our needs right thru to the end. Beautiful large rooms and facilities. We will never go anywhere else for our Reunions to come! Thank you Homestead!

We stayed in a luxury suite, and the money we paid, was not worth what we got. The floor and couch had stains on them, the closet doors kept getting jammed, and the mini-fridge was kept in a tiny closet was always hot (our bread we brought to make sandwiches for our hikes went bad in two days and the bananas were gone in 1 day). The bathroom was nice and big and the bed was comfortable. Biggest complaint (other than the stains): On our first morning we were woken up at 8:30 in the morning by co... Read more

The Homestead offers multiple attractions in one spot, but if my conference colleagues (and other reviews) are right, it has uneven room quality. And the food isn't quite what it used to be. The Homestead (on the National Historic Register) dates back to 1886, when it began as the Schneitter Hotel, a hot springs resort. It is reportedly the only example of Federal style architecture in the Midway and Heber City area, where most other historic buildings are gothic revival, victorian or Swiss ... Read more

We got the suite cottage for 2 nights and was great. First night we woke up in morning and upstairs had kids and jetted tub which water came down but they moved us to the best suite they have for our second night and didn't even blink to put us there. We didn't ask to move they offered. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cottages and suites are well worth the money. Great for couple and we'll be bringing our kids in the fall for sure as a family.

Still a great place to visit but you have to remember the former greatness. Gone are the fluffy comforters and country charm of the rooms. Fanny's Grill is still a fantastic breakfast place to have breakfadt. It has great food for the price. Try the bread pudding french toast.

Decent place to stay. Is showing some age and could use some updating. Great location! Service was friendly. Was not able to try the pool out. Room did accommodate 6 of us by using the mattresses off the bunk beds on the floor. Came to the area for the Home Show in the area which was amazing.

The Homestead really is a resort, the grounds are huge and you can wander around. The rooms are in either little cottages or one of a handful of buildings. There are loads of things to do golf, play volleyball, swim in the crater of just relax in the park like setting. I've been coming here since I was a kid and it is the perfect place to spend time with the family.

First I rarely complain about where I stay on vacation because I try to do a lot of research. We stayed in Wilderness Condos. The view was beautiful, and it was quiet and cozy. The condo itself was very old and falling apart. The sheets were rough and old. The room was smaller than expected. Could only fit three people around the table. The washer did not work. The toilet was leaking in the upstairs. We put towels around the bottom and maintenance never came. The door lock itself came off in... Read more

Although the 1886 building named ‚??Fairway Cottage‚?? had several units, our ground floor room was pleasantly equipped with refrigerator and space to spread things out. There was no microwave nor room safe. The bedspread was the old style vs duvet. When was that bedspread last changed or cleaned? The bottom of the shower curtain was dirty. The in-room wi-fi connection was poor. The resort beckons you to walk about and explore. The pleasant lobby is filled with antique furniture and there is fre... Read more

We stayed in the Shaker house. The room was a good size with a balcony patio that overlooked a central pond. It was pretty run down. I'm not picky, but I need somewhere decently clean to sleep. The patio sliding door was broke, the carpet and comforter was old and dirty. I preferred my baby to crawl on the balcony cement over the carpet, but since the balcony's wood rails looked a little loose, I didn't even trust that. The room was very dim even with all the lights on and the patio door open. C... Read more

The Homestead Resort is designed with a wide variety of accommodations, a spacious layout, and fun activities. The most interesting activity involves the Homestead Crater, a natural dome formation with deep, hot spring-fed water. It is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, or just soaking in the 95 degree water. A golf course is included on the resort property.

The Homestead is one of the oldest resorts in Utah. It isn't trying to mimic someplace else, and doesn't seem to be worried about being something it's not. I stayed for a conference that was happening at the place across the street. I wasn't able to get a room at the other place, and in hindsight, I'm happy it turned out this way. There's nothing fake here. The main building is a nice historic place that is not the oldest building on the property, but feels a lot like a classic old resort p... Read more

Our company booked an off-season work retreat during the first weekend in November. Working with Jana and the catering staff was easy, and they accommodated all our requests for meeting space, food, beverage, and lodging needs. Great couples get-away long weekend! However, the facilities are so large and scattered that it took a lot of time exploring and asking questions to understand what was where and how to get there. We had spent time online in advance studying the layout and amenities, but we had to actually walk the property to better understand the distances between facilities. So, next time a long stay would be more relaxing. They do provide on-call free shuttles. The main building is old style comfortable eleg... Read more
