This was our second stay at La Copa so we decided to book a poolside room this time. We were given a huge room on the first floor, obviously handicap accessible . It was great until we opened the curtains. Guests using the pool had stashed their coolers and pool toys against the outside sitting area and hung their wet towels on the railing! The next day we moved to a standard room on the 4th floor. Super! Two queen beds with tempurpedic mattresses , a large bathroom, microwave and refrigerator ,... Read more

The bad: we ordered room service the first night. Had to go down and pay for it rather than them charging to room. Called an hour later and they said they were bringing it up right then. Waited another 20 minutes then went down myself and got the food. The staff were all sitting around talking and seemed quiet surprised when they saw me. 1 of the 2 elevators were broke first 2 days which made navigation long and lengthy. The balcony has heat from ac blowing out which makes it unbearably hot. Our... Read more

I enjoyed my stay here....it was close to the beach and the omelettes were to die for. I was pleased with the customer service that was provided to us during our stay. I hate writing reviews but I made it happened to let you know how pleased I was with everything... The only thing I didn't like was the hallway smell on the 4th floor. However, I did notify them and they documented my complaint, trying to fix the problem even though, I didn't tell them until check-out time ... but overall I did lo... Read more

Room was clean, service was great and location was perfect! Got there in the afternoon and employee at counter was very friendly and willing to attend me. I was quickly issued a room and informed of all the accommodates that came with staying there. Breakfast was delicious! No waiting in line or and issue with sitting. They have enough space! My daughters loved it and we will be visiting again! I highly recommend it!! Two thumbs up!

Room (suite) was very clean and large. Staff was helpful and kind. Love all the extras and the easy accessibility to the beach. We have stayed here 4 times and have already booked for next year!!! Can't forget the amazing breakfast!! Homemade omlets made to order just for you! Bring cash to tip the cook, you will regret not having extra cash!! Perhaps it is inflation due to scarcity, but we feel we paid too much for this hotel. As my husband says, this is at best a $100/night hotel at a $200/night rate. The room was nice enough, with a comfortable bed and ample pillows and bath towels. Some of the fixtures were dated and rusting in the bathroom. Also we seemed to catch the room as several of its components were dying--had to request a new room phone, lightbulb for a lamp (which then died completely), and batteries for the remote. **A ... Very good property and value for your money. Only complaint is that they need to fix shower that washes off sand at pool, no water pressure and sand gets tracked everywhere. Also, you had to check out pool towels at front desk and not at pool. Pool bar was excellent with quality and service. Rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. I will stay there again!

I had not been back in years since I moved to Missouri. The remodeling of the lobby really helps set the mood for your stay. Only Things We Had A Problem Was With The AC it Seemed Like It Wouldn't Make The Room Cold We Put It Down To 60 And It Didn't Feel Like 60 In There. I inadvertently booked the wrong night on Expedia. So i stayed 2 nights instead of one. When I checked in, i was told my room rate would be significantly higher than the one quoted in Expedia. But the manager was standing there and told me I could get a significantly better rate for my room the first night. When I got my bill, the first night was charged at the much higher rate, not the rate quoted by the manager. I would not have stayed there for that price. I would have found another hotel.

Unfortunately, there were a few issues. None of the ice machines were working for two of the four days we were there. The treadmill in the exercise room was out of order, and I suspect has been for some time based on the sign that was on it. While the logo for the La Copa Inn makes it look like something akin to a motel, once inside you'll experience a comfortable, affordable and fully-stocked hotel experience. Very helpful staff, nicely-furnished rooms, good view, easy access to the beach and a bar/grill with excellent fare. My wife was also grateful for the built-in Starbucks. We came back because of the amazing staff, cleanliness, comfort and proximity to things to do on the island. The value is great, including the onsite restaurant. Plus you get a full breakfast with tons of options. The downsides are lack of parking, thin walls (we could easily hear kids next door which wasn't a huge problem until after midnight - helps to crank up the AC and ceiling fan), plus a small pool that gets way overloaded at certain times of day. Chose to stay here after seeing the rating on Trip Advisor. Sorry to report that, at least in my opinion, this place is extremely overrated. One suggestion we would offer is possibly establishing a quiet curfew in the halls/pool by 11:00pm for the people who retire earlier for the day. Hotel is nicely updated. In the past visits to SPI. it appeared many hotels and condos kept very dated furniture and looks. This hotel was very modern and up to date with its furnishings. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good, and easy to get in and out without long lines. Access to beach was easy on the boardwalk. Pool area nice, and not too crowded, but sometimes personal music players were too loud. Only hiccup was a 3 am fire alarm, due to a fire possibly in the kitchen area,... Read more

Clean room. Friendly Staff. Good Price. Decent Amenities. Perfect Location. We typically rent a condo for privacy but we opted to try a hotel this time so I was worried about the freedom but it was a good experience. We rented the 3 bedroom suite and it was very spacious. Location to beach is perfect. Just a short walk across their bridge and you're there. View from balcony is great.

I was a little skeptical because I work in the Hotel industry and have been for the last 15 years. I've worked in every department except maintenance so my standards are high. They balance between #1 & #2 for a reason. This hotel didn't look so good from the outside looking in but once I got into the hotel I was very impressed. You can tell it's a little bit older but they have done great renovations. I loved the fact that we did not have carpet in our room seeing that we were on a beach it made... Read more

This is a great family hotel. If you're not traveling with kids and want a relaxing stay, you may want to skip it. Recent reviews are spot on - excellent location with easy walk across boardwalk to lovely beach. I arrived early morning the day I was checking in after driving all night. Unfortunately, the room was not available. I was told they would be able to have it ready by 12:30; however due to an elevator being broken, we were not able to check in until after 3. This was slightly frustrating since we had driven all night and had our dog with us. Other than that, the stay was great.

They provided a resting room until checking in our real room. Their house-keeping service was awesome and fast, as well.
