The room was clean and the goose down pillows incredibly comfortable! I'm even searching for them online right now in order to have that pampered feeling again at home. They could easily sell those amazing pillows to guests at the hotel. The location is convenient to both Austin and San Antonio which was perfect. The staff was extremely professional and courteous, which I've noticed is consistent with all La Quinta hotels. They even upgraded my room to the newer section which is amazing!

We stayed at this hotel both going and coming back from our trip to the valley. Will stay here again. I left something in the room and when it was cleaned the item was turned into the front desk and I was called and they held it for me until I returned a few days later.

The Laquinta in San Marcos is easy access off the highway as you come into San Marcos from the North. If you have to return to your hotel it is a little tricky to get back because of the one way access road and you have to figure that part out. The rooms are very clean, the front desk staff was extremely courteous and check in and check out was quick. The only down side of this trip was that the toilet made a horrible noise when you flushed it and the drain in the shower/bath tub was extremel... Read more

This is nothing like a LaQuinta Inn and Suites I have ever stayed at. It was more like a Hotel 3. The rooms were old and smelled like a high school football locker room and looked worse. The three rooms we had all were accessed from the outside and were neither suite or inn quality. Pictures of the hotel showed rooms from the new building and not the ones that we were occupying. I would hope that this is not the typical rooms that they place Active Duty or Retired Military.

This LQ is the old motel style..doors open to the outside. It is a no frills place, but it is clean and well maintained. The wi-fi was fast, the pillows were fluffy (not lumpy at all) and the tv was clear. The stairs to the second level were steep and the treads uneven.

The room smelled like old dogs had been sleeping in it. Very musty and the floor had not been vacuumed in awhile. Tried not to walk without shoes on.. I did report to staff as I checked out. The weather was too bad to worry about finding another room for one night. Certainly didn't think it was worth the price.

They said this hotel had been recently renovated -- well, you could've fooled me. Not only was the check-in process horrendous, but I didn't receive maid service during one of the days of my stay, the room key didn't work each day of my stay and the bed was extremely uncomfortable.

The La Quinta in San Marcos is a nice hotel, it has easy access to San Marcos, Austin, Lockhart and the surrounding attractions. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was the typical free breakfast, limited choice, and self service.

I usually stay at La Quinta hotels when traveling. I booked this hotel in San Marcos for a shopping trip with my family. The price was surprisingly high ($189/night), but after reading that is was newly renovated, I booked the room. When I arrived, the front desk area was clean and staff was cordial. I received my room key and was told to drive to where my room was. After circling around the building, I noticed that this was not your standard La Quinta and the rooms were accessed from the outsid... Read more

The hotel itself was ok but needed a few things fixed. The tub was stained and looked dirty and the shower head was so clogged that the water that did come out was hard and a little uncomfortable. The room was clean and beds comfortable. Our biggest problem was that there were inconsiderate people who decided that they needed to stay outside their rooms and party in the parking lot. They were quite loud and kept us awake most of the night. If they had not kept us awake, the nearby train would ha... Read more
