Okay, you're on vacation. You expect to break out the old credit card and give it plenty of exercise. You have to understand that I am.....well.... frugal. What I was hoping for, I did not find. An in-room refrigerator would be nice. Free WIFI would be nice. A reasonably price breakfast would be nice. On the up side, the hotel is in a great location, it is modern and clean. Everything works and the staff is great. Breakfast. Well, I don't know what it was like because I was not willing... Read more

This Wyndham is a beautiful hotel. Room was spacious, plenty of storage in bathroom, very clean. Room service was prompt. Did not eat in restaurant, but bar is nice. Check- in and check- out was speedy as well as valet service. Overall, all the staff we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful. Only drawback was because it's located on quiet end of Riverwalk, river taxis were scarce. We were there in the middle of the week, so maybe the river taxis would be more plentiful on a weekend.... I contracted the Wyndham for a corporate event for approximately 130 people. The meeting was three days and we utilized meeting space; a/v; and f&B. The staff was wonderful and did everything they could to give us the best experience. The food was very good and everyone had only complementary things to say to me about the hotel. Our sleeping rooms were nice....and as a meeting planner....the bed was comfortable. (The most important thing for me!) Any issue or question I had was immediately... Read more

We came to stay here for a conference. My assistant arrived two days before me. Her name was on the room and yet they made her sit in the lobby for five hours waiting for a room key. Even though that dinged her account $50 for incidentals she was not given a key. When another roomate arrived five hours later, they were both issued a key. The hotel is great, so is their restaurant. Their dinner is reasonably priced. Breakfast ($15 or so with coffee and tip, per person) and parking (>$30 for valet) may be a little too much. It is 5 minutes from River Walk and has an uncovered pool on the third floor.

This is a very nice hotel to stay in. We had nothing but good experience minus a couple things. The rooms were always clean and the bathrooms were spot less. The only bad things we found were some of their prices are very high. To eat a breakfast buffet that was bland as bland can be was 16 a person. For $16 a person it needs flavor, salt and pepper works. The pool was green and when I say green you couldn't see half way to the bottom on a 4 foot deep pool, so the pool guy needs a raise so... Beautiful hotel. The staff was always very willing to help out with any needs. Really the only complaints I have are: I had to pay for WIFI in my room! What hotel has no free WIFI? When I brought it up at checkout they said all I had to do was ask for the password, but it seems that information would have been provided at check-in. Instead I used the info book in my room that told me I had to pay. Also, there was not a premium movie channel! Even Holiday Inn Express has at least one!

Hotel was very clean, though it could be upgraded a bit. From reading some posts, the parking is a bit from the hotel, but there is a tunnel under the street from the garage for self parking. Therefore, you don't have to get out on the street if you self park. Yes, it is on the far end of the River Walk, but it is just a block walk, down some stairs, and you are enjoying yourself in a shaded venue. If you are looking to stay on the Riverwalk, this is still a walk from the river (not actually on the river as the name implies). This walk also includes a good walk from all the restaurants on the river. The walk is a bit scary after dark given the homeless sleeping on the streets in San Antonio and in the dark areas of the Riverwalk. I can say that the staff was exceptionally nice and responsive. While it's a very nice hotel and had some great staff, we were disappointed. The bsthroom floor had pubic hairs and a razor cover. Clearly not cleaned. (They immediately came and cleaned it when we called) The beds were comfortable but the sheets were "pilly" and the orange cover was a weird texture on 3/4 of the beds. The toilets by the way flush but not the first time. The first time seems to prime the pump and the second time it works really well. So on to the next day- they didn't clean ... Read more

The Concierge was just so so... in a City with spectacular historic significance, art, and restaurants, one would think she would be have been excited to tell us all about these locations. Very nice hotel and property! But it's not really on the Riverwalk. Restaurant and hotel doesn't sit on the river or have nice views of it. You still have to walk about 4 blocks to get on the Riverwalk. Parking is rather expensive too for being such a distance away from everything. Would recommend as a place to stay in San Antonio but not as a Riverwalk hotel.

Everyone was great, service was great and location is right on the Riverwalk. However, the hotel is a little outdated, and could use a remodel. I felt like that bathrooms in our room were a little old and dingy, and the room was small. The food we had during the conference was really good.

Nice, slightly aging hotel in the heart of the Riverwalk district. Lobby bar staff needed some help. Slow, confused service. Banquet food at our event was quite good. Staff that assisted with our trade show set-up and tear down was great.

my first view as I walked in the room was the toilet seat up and mold all around the lip of the toilet. Yuck. It was late and I was so tired I just went to bed. In the morning I was greeted with almost no water. I had to wash my hair and did not know how I was going to accomplish this. I have videos of both of these and they would make great on line videos.

Everything was excellent but a neighboring facility started floor scrubbing machine or something equally loud at 6am every morning that woke me and kept me up since it was so loud. Difficult to go back to sleep.

This hotel was in a nice location, very clean, and the valet staff was incredibly helpful, but those are the only nice things I can say. Other staff were not friendly, many looked away to avoid eye contact, one evening I waited 15 minutes at the bar before I was ever acknowledged. Front desk staff were brief in all interactions - my colleague asked for a safe in her room and felt accused of lying that there was not one already and one was not brought during the 4 day stay. I stayed on the 19t... Read more

We purchased a Groupon based on the price and the beautiful picture of the Riverwalk giving the impression we would have a good view. Wrong. We overlooked a concrete roof. When we walked into the room, the trim on the lamp was coming off and hanging down the pole. It was obvious, but obviously the cleaning staff did not notice it. The bathroom floor was dirty as well as cracked. One of the windows by the entrance was broken. I have a soft spot in my heart for the elderly and was very upset to f... Read more

Enjoyed our stay celebrating our 19th Wedding Anniversary, but was disappointed in the breakfast menu. I'm allergic to pork and was disappointed there were not other meat options, such as turkey sausage or steak bits.

We are tax exempt, both state and local taxes. Even after providing the form stating that, they refused to credit the local taxes. Their solution was that they could charge me for all the taxes and I could request a refund directly from the state. Why do we have tax exemption forms if they are not handled the way they are supposed to. The woman I spoke to was rather rude and condescending about it as well. As a former tourism employee in San Antonio, I am highly disappointed in this property and... Read more

Very friendly and professional hotel. We booked ahead on hotels.com and opted for the included breakfast which was wonderful, well worth the extra money. It is about a quarter mile off the main part of the riverwalk, but well worth the stroll.

My wife and I stay on the Riverwalk at least once a year. This year we stayed at the Wyndham because my wife attended the NSFA Conference. This property is far away from the Riverwalk as we know it. When we checked in we waited in a long line because all other employees were in a management meeting. This was at 4:00 pm. Hello managers, how about you end your meeting and wait on customers. One out of four elevators was broken. Room decor is tired and worn out. You have to pay for wifi, somet... Read more

Excellent by Ms. Abby was beyond expectation. She was very perseverance when the rest of the staff gave up on the search of my USPS packet. Very well deserving staff. A great asset to this hotel!
