Sheraton Gunter was well located, facilities were comfortable and the service was courteous and responsive to our needs and requests. We liked being on the 11th floor and having access to the club facilities.

Walking in downstairs I was fully impressed by the beautiful decor and tasty infused water. I'm not one to drink tap in new places so I was thankful for this feature. As we went upstairs the more historic qualities of the hallways and rooms began to show. The room was a little dated, but the bed was fabulously firm with a soft top and enough pillows to make this side sleeper happy. The windows and walls are also a little thin, but earplugs were provided. Ha! The night before checking out I nee... Read more

this hotel is right where you want to be to get to see the best of san antonio! There is a great bar in the lobby with nice bites and great wine. Ron at the front desk was very accommodating and was such a friendly face to see each night coming back from work!! Thanks for a great stay!!

Staff is great, lobby is beautiful but room is realy small and the noise from the dumpster emptying at 5:00 am went on for about 20 minutes. In addition, the A/C made a loud noise everytime it kicked on so not a restful night. Now I realize why they had a package of ear plugs in the bathroom that I discovered the next morning.

My stay started off shaky as Jeremiah checked me in and was a little over the top. He's the one that gave me the trip advisor card and he wanted to make sure I mentioned his name. It felt forced, like he was trying to sell me a car. I went to the desk later and spoke with Jackie and it was such a different experience. She helped me out and was very genuine. Everyone was very nice throughout my stay. I plan to go back in a couple of months and hopefully the first impression at check in is a littl... Read more

The service of the staff, including John in the bar and Ray at the breakfast buffet, was overwhelming and helped off set the small rooms which all the older hotels seem to supply. The was my first trip since the lobby remodel and the change was extreme from classic dark wood to all white paint and draperies. If extreme change was the goal....goal achieved!

My husband and I visited San Antonio for a few days for our honeymoon. Jeremiah checked us into our room and offered us a complementary bottle of champagne to congratulate us. The staff at the Sheraton Gunter were all extremely friendly and helped make our stay more than comfortable. We will be coming back!

This hotel has had some major renovations over the years. The beautiful wood details have been painted white to "modernize" the hotel. Disappointing, but this is still a very beautiful hotel with a lot of wonderful history and charm. They have kept many pictures and memorabilia and are scattered throughout the lobby. The room sizes vary and are a bit small but nicely appointed. The hotel provides excellent customer service. Located only two blocks from the Riverwalk, they offer a wonderfu... Read more

When I thanked Jeremiah VanWagner for placing us on a higher floor, without making that preference previously known, he responded that perhaps he could even do better and took the time to move us to the concierge 12th Floor. During our three encounters Mr. VanWagner displayed his sincere enjoyment and desire to help people in a professional way. I see and experience a lot traveling around and Mr. VanWagner was definitely "top drawer" and a valuable asset to the image of this otherwise also out... Read more
