We were able to get a king sized bed over looking the Riverwalk. It was wonderful with a balcony. Although it was literally over the Riverwalk, the noise never bothered us. We slept great and enjoyed the room which was spacious. The hotel food was very pricey, but we did enjoy the atmosphere and decor of the hotel.

The hotel was very nice and I feel I got a good price for the Memorial Day weekend on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. My son lives there on Lackland Air Force Base so we didn't have to get a car. The valet price to park your car is very high, $32/night. I would park in a lot a block away for $16/night. Other than that everything was great!

We travelled to San Antonio over the Memorial Day weekend. The hotel is very conveniently located and has access to the River Walk. We were on a rest and relax trip so we were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the bed was. The room was a little small in comparison to other Omni's that I have stayed at but it was nicely laid out. We had a courtyard view, so it was very quiet. It appears that the River Walk side rooms could be a bit noisy well into the night. Overall, an outstanding exp... Read more

Everything was great except all the 'stuff' for sale in the room both on the table and in the refrigerator. Very overpriced and caused a fight with my daughter i didn't want on vacation. No room for any of my refrigerated items in refrigerator b/c was full of beers and things I didn't want. Tub was too small for my wide shoulders, needed to be updated.

This is a lovely hotel that my family and I use when we are in S.A. Considering the location on the riverwalk it is actully quieter than one might think. The rooms are cool and comfortable which is important in the S.A. heat. The coffee shop is wonderful and the restaurant excellent. The best part of this hotel is the staff! This is a fantastic group of people who are friendly, professional and allows there to assist without being "in the way". The valet group is as good as you will find anywher... Read more

My wife and I came here for our anniversary, and could not have been more impressed with everything about the hotel. It has a relaxed elegance that historic buildings can have but newer buildings often lack. The staff is also very thoughtful. We brought our elderly dog, and were delighted to see when we returned from dinner that our dog had gotten "room service" -- a dog bowl and mat, and dog treats that she was contentedly eating. La Mansion definitely earned a spot as our first choice for ... Read more

This hotel has incredible charm and the location on the River Walk is wonderful. But the reason I will come back is the staff. The hospitality of this hotel is incredible! Every employee said good morning, and asked if you needed anything - they did it in a manner that made you feel that this was more than a job for them. We booked our hotel stay for 4 nights so we could enjoy our vacation. We were quoted a certain price but when we got here they charged our card more than we expected/budgeted. They said they have to add on $50 extra per night to cover costs in case we use their services. This is something not mentioned when we booked the hotel stay. I love staying at Omni hotels. The La Mansion del Rio was great, the location is on the Riverwalk which makes walking to shops and site seeing more economical. The customer service is awesome. I love the old Spanish style decor, the breakfast buffet was amazing and the cocktails were on point. We purchased the Rio Package which included a king room with a pool view, valet parking, 2 margaritas, river cruise tickets and the breakfast buffet for under $300.00 on a Friday night.

Such a friendly and quaint atmosphere. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The old world charm is lovely. We really enjoyed the breakfast brunch very much. Loved the location on the Riverwalk too. Right in the center of things are close to everything we wanted to do. They offered us a package that included parking, a river boat tour, two cocktails, and breakfast. I thought it was a pretty decent deal. And helped make it easy to park, ride the river, and eat!

We had a wonderful get away at La Mansion. We have only been there to eat in the past and we always have wanted to stay there. We upgraded and are really glad we did. We had a balcony overlooking the river walk and a couch and chair. The feature that really impressed me was their version of a turn down service. Forget the chocolate! A couple of bottles of cold water were greatly appreciated. And the turn down channel!!! I wish I had that at home.

The hotel itself is historic and nice. That being said, the room for 4 people was super tiny. The bathroom was extremely small. For the price I paid I expected a least 2 ply toilet paper(it's not). The pool was nice looking, but was extremely salty. The layout is super confusing and the fitness center is actually across the Riverwalk at another hotel which is ridiculous. I had to ask for towels twice. Room service was delicious and the valet were wonderful.

We spent one night in 519 and what felt like a broom closet. But after that they moved us to a complimentary upgrade and a beautiful and spacious room with a private balcony! Food there is great! As it turned out I don't think my bragging date could afford it, so he complained his way into comps from the hotel. I mean, he complained about the smell of the first room, they upgraded us to their sister property across the river and moved us, which was amazing in itself. Realizing that worked he complained the room was smaller, then they moved his truck without consulting with him first... Read more

Stayed 4 days to attend a conference. Location is perfect- walk outside the front and you're downtown in a block. Walk out the back door and you're on the Riverwalk. ~ 10 min walk to convention center and you pass tons of shops, bars and restaurants on the way. They don't have a fitness center on site- but right across the river (2 min walk) is their "sister" hotel with a nice little fitness center on their 8th floor that you can access with your key card. From the valet to check in (friendly) and food, this is a nice place to stay. Rooms overlook a court yard or have river view. The bathroom in my room was extremely small but there was a vanity you could get ready at. My only complaint is that this hotel is very hot in the hallways and our rooms did not seem to cool off. King bed was comfortable.

The sharing is such that anyone staying in those rooms could come directly in front of my glass doors that led out to the balcony. It was a bit unnerving since I was traveling alone. So I felt I needed to keep my ... Read more

We had a riverview room with a balcony, and it was very nice, clean and quiet. The bath was very well-equipped and big enough, although not too large. The room had a beamed ceiling and brick wall, with a very comfortable bed. Of course, you ARE paying for the premier location on the San Antonio Riverwalk, in a historic building that used to be a school established in 1852, so the rates are high, but worth it. The location is great, the views superb, the pool and layout quaint, and the choice of ... Read more

I stayed here to work while other family members were attending events around town. Is it a good place to work? Not really. The wifi sucks, there is no workspace and the lighting is awful. But that's not the point of this place. If want a hotel right on the river walk that has character and is historic, this is the place. Yes, it could do with a lick of paint but overall I really liked this property and it's vibe. Rooms were nice, staff were great and location cannot be beat. Valet is overpriced... Read more

This historic property is ideally located on the Riverwalk with easy walking access to shops, restaurants and bars. The rooms were well-appointed and very comfortable, and the staff was top notch. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Antonio.

The entire staff was very friendly. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was beautiful. Lots of history. The hotel is located right on the riverwalk and the restaurants are just across the river. They have the riverboats and riverboat taxis stop right by the hotel. The pool is heated and is beautiful.

Each and every person who works here goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, special and like a VIP. The hotel is beautiful and a great way to experience the Riverwalk with a front row seat. The history of the hotel is amazing and the easy access tot he Riverwalk with the bridge tot he other side directly out the back door is more than convenient. I will stay here again on my next visit for sure.

Very friendly staff. I was expecting $25 valet parking per night when we arrived, and was shocked when the valet told me it $39 per night. He was very friendly though, and said there is a self parking garage across the street that charges $9 per night. We opted to park there. I appreciated his information. Our room was very nice. We had a street side king room. I was a little worried about the street noise, but I was pleased that the room was well insulated and we heard minimal noise from the ou... Read more

This Omni along with others we have stayed at never dissapoint. The room had a private balcony overlooking the river walk. We had a package with truffles and sparkling wine to be delivered. Which we do not like sparkling wine and they were quick to accommodate and delivered some red wine instead. Ordered breakfast in room one morning and it was absolutely fabulous! You have to try the hot sauce and go for the fresh handmade tortillas instead of toast. Yum! Valet parking was very fast, effi... Read more

Staff is extremely friendly and rooms are gorgeous. From check in to check out received exceptional service. Only negatives were the incredibly slow elevators and the mechanical that was constantly present in my room. The room did have a white noise machine which helped but did not completely eliminate the noise. Will stay again but request a room in a different area.

Old school hotel, pretty exterior, great location. The rooms with private balconies facing the River Walk are very nice, beware the lesser rooms on the city side. I found it overpriced and noisy because of very thin walls. The staff is courteous and professional, as you would expect at an Omni property. The $40 per night parking fee is insane! There is a $10 self park garage directly across the street. I want to stress, money is not the issue, getting what you pay for is the issue.

Went to San Antonio for a football game and stayed at the Omni La Mansion del Rio. Great old hotel. Very nice rooms. The staff made the hotel even better. The were so nice and pleasant and very helpful. Great breakfast buffet. Two bars. One very quite and nice and one more lively. The hotel is right on the Riverwalk which is fantastic. If you don't like one restaurant walk ten feet to the next one. The food was very good. Walk the Riverwalk, it is very cool. Went to the Alamo and the old mission... Read more

You can't get any better than this Omni property. The staff is the best I've ever encountered & they have everything you need. I stay here at least 2-3 times a month & they've treated me like family since the first night I've stayed here.

We traveled to SA for the Notre Dame v Army football game and stayed at La Mansion Del Rio and couldn't have been more pleased. I had booked a room with a balcony overlooking the river but the second floor room we were given on arrival was a little noisy. In response to a request for a room on a higher floor we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite at no extra cost. Had the breakfast buffet each day and it was terrific as was Saturday night dinner at Las Canaries. The location is right in th... Read more

This was the lowest set of scores I've ever given this hotel. It honestly upsets me to do so. First, I always loved staying here and have many times before but I've noticed that the general level of service has gone down. Example, I normally wear a tshirt and jeans for most of my stay here since I'm most relaxed that way. Nobody should ever assume that I am not on the same level as those whom come in suits and ties. That would be a big assumption that is far off of the mark. ;) That said, in my ... Read more

$39 for valet parking is the only option, which is not communicated prior to arriving at the hotel, starting you off on a sour note. The room condition was a bit shabby for the "luxury" image portrayed in marketing. The staff did their best to accommodate our requests in most cases, but I was not impressed due to the overall condition of the hotel and the nickel-and-dime approach.

No other place to lodge in San Antonio but in the lovely Omni La Mansión del Río. Former school architecture turned luxury hotel by the river, on the Riverwalk, lots of rooms with river view, impeccable staff.

We had a more expensive room with a balcony on the riverwalk so that we could enjoy the view. Little did we realize that people party on the riverwalk until 4 a.m. so a good night's sleep was out of the question. Our friend had a much less expensive courtyard room which was nice and quiet . The rooms are very spacious . Service in the hotel is not up to Omni standards . The bellman and the cleaning staff are great , but the front desk is often understaffed and uninformed.

The Omni La Mansión del Rio is a beautiful property, in a historic building along the San Antonio Riverwalk. My wife and I stay there every year for the Christmas lighting parade. The service and the staff is outstanding. The only drawback I found on this trip was the $39/day charge for valet parking (which is pretty much required). I found this expensive, considering the fact that my vehicle was parked in the public parking garage across the street (the hotel does reserve a section that is... Read more

We stayed here with our kids ( 7 & 12) over the Thanksgiving weekend to watch the parade. It's is a classic old hotel, centrally located so we could walk to most destinations. For its location it is surprisingly very quiet at night so we all slept well. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and across the street is parking for $10 per day. This is a hotel for people that appreciate the rich history of the city - a great find!

Took a family trip to see 2016 Ford Holiday River Parade. We reserved 5 rooms. Stayed here for the "experience" but was disappointed. First we were waiting in a long line to check in when 3 other employees were just standing around talking. Once I checked in my room was small. Be warned: the double rooms have very small full size beds that just barely sleep two adults. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors. We had room 246 and the noise from the elevator never stopped. Not impress... Read more

We had a room right on the Riverwalk, which is what we desired. Just a tip; if you go the day after Thanksgiving, they have a Christmas parade on the River. Ask for a room with a private balcony, and without trees below which block the view. We ended up doing the buffet at the hotel restaurant, which I was very unhappy with. I will review separately. The room was large, and mostly well kept. I noticed a rip in the carpet in a very noticeable location, which I wouldn't have expected to see. It lo... Read more

This is a classic hotel built many, many years ago. It has been updated over the years but some areas still have that old look. I think the management does a nice job keeping this place in top condition. We stayed for 5 days and found its location on the Riverwalk to be as good as you could want. The courtyard type pool area is also an area that should be used more than it is. It is just a lovely setting. We did hit the restaurants and bars located in the hotel and found El Colegio comfort... Did on-line check-in to expedite check-in. Did not help. At check-in room preference not provided. Manager at front desk extremely rude. When not satisfied with room he didn't help. Attitude take it or leave it. Coffee cups provided through room service were visibly dirty. Appearance of dried wide noodles inside coffee cup. Not worth the $300+ room rate.

Room guaranteed was not available and advance checkin had been requested but not arranged. One hour wait for unacceptable room. Confrontation with front desk clerks and reservation manager was fruitless--although an Ambassador room had been guaranteed, room offered upon arrival was not size of Ambassador and was extremely small and inadequate for a 5 night stay
