The Contessa is a very nice, independent hotel, in a strategic location on the River Walk. I found the front staff very friendly and accommodating, especially after I left two items in my car and had to ask the valet to retrieve them. Rooms are spacious suites with a very stylish work and living room area and a very comfortable bedroom. Large bathroom, only issue was the shower, unlike the other fixtures it was older and while the water was hot and pressure was good, the shower head was not adju... Read more

Second time staying here for our anniversary. Staff was really good and especially the bar staff. My wife & I really love the suite setup. Plan to visit the spa on our next trip here. We have stayed at a number of hotels near or on the Riverwalk and this is our favorite. We plan on coming back next January. Loved it.

Stayed here last for a conference. Check in process was very smooth. Rooms were good with nice view to River Walk. Expect for some issues in the bathroom rest all were very good. As it it's located heart of downtown, accessibility to all interesting areas was very close. Staff at the hotel were helpful and courteous. Food at the restaurant was very good. Recommend this hotel to anyone who visits San Antonio.

We have stayed here 2 times and it has been great. My wife enjoyed the spa and it is nice to be on the river walk. This seems to be a quiet part of the river walk. It was nice to sit on the 2nd level patio and look out.

Nice all suite hotel on quiet part of Riverwalk. Nice bar area and patio out to the river. It was a nice evening in early December for the visit--hotel is great and not too far from all of the "action" of the Riverwalk--though where it sits is very peaceful. The hallways look a bit dated but then you open the door to your suite which is furnished with modern d├ęcor/furnishings. It is very nice. Would definitely stay there again and may do so this spring.

We stayed here for a volleyball tournament and really liked the location and the hotel itself. Rooms were nice and the breakfast downstairs was really good. It's a little pricey for valet car service but most of the hotels downtown are. We would stay here again.

This was a good hotel with good amenities, decent price and away from the masses who like the Holiday Inns and Marriotts. Staff was friendly, and helpful. Rooms are quite spacious. Visiting during the Christmas Holidays is great as the whole River Walk is bouncing with activity. If you want to enjoy the Riverwalk without all the people also, book for a few days after the 1st of January and the crowds disappear, and the Walk is almost absent of all people.

Whenever I am traveling with kids, I like a suite. This set up was perfect, with my teen and I sharing the king bed and my son using the foldout couch. The room was quiet and clean. We loved exploring the river walk on foot the art museum was quite a hike, but it's worth seeing whether was walk or drive. The breakfast buffet with omelet station was delicious. The service and atmosphere was great. The rooftop pool was also top notch. When we return to San Antonio, we will definitely cons... Read more
