We enjoyed our stay here for the one night we were in San Antonio. The staff was very helpful and the location allowed for us to walk to the main attractions and off the beaten path. The room was very spacious and quiet. Even though the hotel was packed due to a convention, I would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for about a week for a conference. No complaints about the room, its nice, quiet, and comfortable. Meeting rooms were convenient and well laid out. Only issue I had was with the microphones and the remote call-in participants. There were significant issues with the audio quality and some portion of the meeting was wasted due to technical issues. I'm not certain if this was handled by the hotel. Area restaurants are very nice; in room dining is very expensive (Chris Ruth's) but it's v... Read more

All aspects of the Hotel were exceptionally professional. The warmth & attentiveness of the staff is truly heartfelt. The Concierge & JR assisted in dining recommendations & directions. The staff @ The Grand Club were consistently truly caring that all guests were enjoying their stay. This is the way a Hotel should be operated.

Exactly what you would expect from a Grand Hyatt. Great front desk staff and concierge, beautiful, large rooms, decent size bathroom (with counter under sink), and probably the best hotel gym I've ever seen. All of the amenities you would want for a business hotel. Great bar, Ruth's Chis in the hotel. On the Riverwalk very close to great restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend this hotel.

As other reviews have noted, this is a very nice hotel in line with the Hyatt brand. The room was very nice and comfortable, and was located on a quiet part of the Riverwalk but was close to the main action. The bar was nice and had great craft cocktails. Note that parking at the hotel is not free, but this is typcial for hotels in downtown San Antonio. This hotel was very classy. From the moment you arrive there is someone there to help as this is a very large hotel. The front desk made sure everything was as I had requested. Even the housekeeping staff were so professional. I absolutely loved the plush robes! Being in such a large hotel, the staff made sure that I felt like a priority!

The location was good, very close to river walk, but also near a Denny's which was kind of scary place. I was on the 20th floor, which was cool because they had elevators that only went to 20 and above, meant things moved quickly. In my bathroom, the wallpaper was falling off and it was showing its age in general. I had room service once, it was reasonably good - but wow - expensive!!!! I might stay here again if I had a business trip to San Antonio.

Staff here is excellent, and makes the trip. There may be "fancier" hotels in downtown San Antonio along the Riverwalk, but there are NONE better. Doubles are a feel a little cramped, but floor-to-ceiling windows keep from feeling claustrophobic. Beautiful lobby, 24 hour coffee shop with Starbucks coffee. Ruth's Chris on the lower level reliably excellent. Great gym and pool.

The location of this hotel is great! Close to the convention center (connecting even), close to the RiverWalk, restaurants and shops. The room service menu is somewhat limited but all of the food was excellent and the service fabulous. The public areas of the hotel are modern and well appointed. The room itself was average, but the room staff was attentive and responsive.

The Grand Hyatt was overall a great place to stay. The location is awesome. Access to the Riverwalk is directly across the street. Walking distance to restaurants, drinks, the Alamo and even a mall should you need to do a shopping. The two restaurants inside the hotel are great and allow for good options if you want to stay in. This is a nice Hyatt. Room was nice. The prices in the bar were high for drinks. And the restaurant on the river level, Ruth's Chris Steak House, is ridiculously overpriced for what it is (and I am not a cheapskate!). You can walk anywhere on the Riverwalk from the hotel., and it's a couple of riverbends away from the noisier restaurants and bars. Also near the convention center.

The hotel was very nice for the most part, room service was to expensive and not very good in my opinion and they didn't have much of a selection (Ruth Chris). Other than that it was great and I had a great time. bed was a little loud, but I slept well. The hotel room didn't have a microwave either, you buy a $90 steak, if you don't eat it all you cant heat it up and eat it later so that was a downfall as well.

The hotel has 6 main floor elevators, only 2 are operational. The property was booked well at capacity and traveling to and from rooms was unbearable. Physically disabled ... Read more

We paid for the upgrade but we did not get the upgraded room . There was no queen size bed that was promised . Being a Hyatt rewards member in good standing I was not happy about it.i had high hopes on Hyatt hotels , I am disappointed this time.

I was here on business and everything was fine. The hotel was very nice and comfortable. The room was clean. I have no major complaints. I will say that the in-hotel dining options were very limited, and not very budget-friendly.

We got this room at a discount for San Japan. The hotel is clean and the rooms are beautiful, as well as extremely comfortable. With the discount the rooms are less expensive than nearby hotels while still offering a lot of free amenities. There are no microwaves in the hotel room however, so any food you want to warm will have to be done in the lobby.

This was my first stay at a luxury hotel and I am so glad that I chose the Grand Hyatt hotel for this experience. I was amazed at how friendly, kind and caring that all of the staff were. I would definitely stay here again before I spent time and money anywhere else.

Great hotel! Will definitely stay there again! They are dog friendly. I felt safe walking by myself early morning or late evening. Convenient to the riverwalk & local shopping. All employees were gracious & very helpful & accommodating.

Being at a conference isn't always a "retreat". The staff at this downtown San Antonio hotel makes the stay enjoyable. You feel valued here. The club room attendants are very friendly and eager to help you. Valet/bellman is exceptionally efficient and friendly.

This is a nice hotel, clean, good service, and well located. My only draw back is the limited food services within the hotel. But you are on the river walk so you can go to other locations close by for lunch or dinner.

We have been using hotels in America for seven weeks. This hotel had easily the best gymnasium, and also the best swimming pool. How do some hotels get away with saying they have a swimming pool, when it is more the size of a bath. Also, a small point, but glass instead of plastic cups in the room gets a big tick from us.

My husband was speaking at a conference in the building next door. Our hotel room had a view of the hill country. Easy to get to restaurants and shopping. The historical Riverwalk is steps from the back of the hotel.

Greatest hotel experience in my lifetime!!! There really isn't enough space to say all I need to say and I'm doubtful that this written review will really adequately convey my sincere appreciation and respect I have for the concierge manager, Eugene, at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. I was in town for a convention last month and before I arrived my priority after checking into the hotel and registering for the convention was to locate a bookstore to purchase a recent release by a best-selling aut... Staff placed me in a room that was not yet made up and had to move me. Then a separate hotel guest walked in my room the second day. I called the front desk and they told me my reservation was for one day--which was not true. They accommodated me for the second day, but a little disconcerting when I made the reservation for two days. Hotel was nice, but seemed older than it probably is. Dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in the hotel was a highlight of the entire trip. Great service there.

There is a certain brand of cordless phone that hotels seem to like to buy for guest rooms and about 1 in 10 of them actually work. This hotel had another one that didn't work. Have to talk to the front desk and room service through the speaker phone which isn't the end of the world but when you see these phones you know the odds are that it is broken. Hotel is right on the "river" with a Ruth's Chris on the bottom. Good food. Conference center very nice. Room was nice - TV a bit small - and co... Read more

Stayed here for a recent meeting. The service was phenomenal, the 24 hours snack shop off the lobby was great. The meals served during the meeting were quite good. The room was nice. Overall, quite nice.

Rooms were disappointing. Even with an upgrade my room was very small and poorly designed. When the closet door is open, the rest of the room is blocked off. The bathtub had an old plastic curtain for showering that kept falling off. Lighting in the room was inadequate. No cosmetic mirror was provided and body lotion/shampoo etc were not consistently provided. Concierge club staff were friendly and helpful but operator on Guest services line was not very polite of helpful.

First impression at front desk was excellent. Highly friendly and capable check-in. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. Walk from elevator to room was on dingy, worn carpet. Room itself was on small side, and smelled musty. Housekeeping is lousy: bathroom counter was obviously unwiped (and with black granite, how did they think I wouldn't notice?). No amenities on bathroom counter, just a lonely bottle of moisturizer. Furniture in room is chipped and showing significant wear. Locati... Read more

For what you pay, I expected our stay to be a lot more comfortable. The bed squeaked at every move and the pillows were way too soft. There was a noise what sounded like an AC coming on outside our window that kept us up most of the night. Last but not least, why in the world do I have to pay for parking when I'm staying at your hotel ? Needless to say, we won't be coming back. Thank you v/r, Ramon

The Grand Hyatt is located adjacent to the convention center and s short walk to the Riverwalk and the Alamo. Rooms are good sized but not huge, and to my taste there was too much furniture for the size of the room--a lounge chair and ottoman took up a good chunk of the space. I also thought the closet was pretty strange, with a hinged wooden door that opened into the room--blocking access from the entry hall and requiring that it be closed every time to move into the room. Not sure why they ... Read more

I stayed here while attending a work conference. The hotel is lovely, service was great and they had free wifi in the room. The pillows were on the soft side, but still better than most hotel pillows. The room price is out of my personal budget so it's not a hotel I would have stayed at if I were footing the bill. The Alamo and Riverwalk were just a short walk away.

This was the hotel for the conference I attended (9/17-9/21/2016) with my wife and will be my first and last stay at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio (and maybe any other Hyatt now). I will go across the street to their competitor before I will stay at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio again. Hyatt was well below what was expected. Room was on the smaller side, only two small drawers to place clothes in. Bedside table had no drawers, only an open area to place items in. The overall room could use a ma... Read more

I stayed here for a conference. The staff at the front desk were great. Parts of the hotel were starting to look beat up. They need to pay attention to some areas. Loved that it was on the Riverwalk. The pool is outside and was so hot we got in and got right out. Not refreshing at all and the tiles burned your feet getting in.

For the cost of this hotel I expected more than gross white water coming out of the sink and a sink and tub that didn't have standing water in them. Asked for a blanket from the front desk and never got it. You can stay there but expect to drink bottled water only and take a bath as you are taking a shower.

The room was dirty (dusty), the shower was filthy, I had to ask for it to be cleaned twice. The shower was only boiling hot, I had to ask for that to be fixed. I couldn't sleep two nights because of noise outside the room. I get some things canâ??t be controlled by the hotel, it was just several things that went wrong. I don't feel that the hotel has good healthy options for food, you have lots of options but none of them I would consider healthy as they are loaded with dressings and oil. Why ... Read more
