Hotel was ok. Didn't exceed my expectations though. Building is older, it is clean, but could use some updates. Stale smell in hallways. Hotel staff was accommodating and moved my room as the room next to me was very loud. I must have overlooked where it stated that they charge additional for parking when booking. $17 a day is quite steep in my opinion. Very convenient location to Riverwalk. Bar & Cafe located inside hotel.

I booked this hotel because it was about 7% cheaper than other Riverwalk hotels. Of course there's an old saying, you get what you pay for. But all in all, it was OK. First, it's on the Southwest EDGE of the Riverwalk. Certainly not near the Alamo, the convention center, and other tourist spots. Perhaps a little extra walking isn't a big deal. But if you're spending time in San An, and seeing some of the more popular sights, you will do a little extra walking to get to/from this hotel. I w... Read more

Had a pleasant experience, the hotel was nice and clean and the staff very friendly. Nothing special about the room but the short distance to the riverwalk made up for it. The bar downstairs was a fun environment as well as the coffee shop. Safe parking with easy access for guests.

The toilet has a light flush and a heavy one, really impressive. Inexpensive, comparatively, but $18 for parking. We were told there were no view rooms left but our room (614) had a small view of the river and walk. There is just enough room in the closet to hold our small suitcase. I would like more outlets near the bed but managed. 2 bottles of water were waiting in the refrigerator. I would definitely stay again and plan to. The bed was a little too hard for me but my husband was fine.

We saw several pro and con reviews, but we were very pleased with this hotel and a great location. It is an older hotel, but we knew that and everyone at the hotel were friendly and were willing to help in any way. Loved the pool area and like that it went right down to the garage. We will be back again and has recommended this hotel to some friends.

This nice little hotel on the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio is perfect for your family vacation. Not fond of those little bottles of shampoo and body wash? They have dispensers in the shower and by the sink to take care of your needs without all of the clutter. Most attractions (Alamo, Cathedral, Riverwalk, mall) and food are within walking distance to your room. With a pool located in the center of the hotel, you may just stay in.

Hotel in good position to river walk shame the rooms were not clean ,carpets were really full of dust you could see it,asked for the carpet to be vacuumed but got a deodoriser instead, would not recommend for any one with allergy.Staff at counter were helpful as to how to find places.

Just checked out from an one night stay here at Riverview plaza. Just wanted to leave a little feed back on my stay. Great location! And my stay was fanomanal! We stayed in on of the sweets which what an amazing upgrade and didn't sacrifice much more money in doing so. I would totally stay here again because of amenities and convince! Beautiful historical hotel with many visible upgrades.

Stayed here for 3 nights. We parked on the 2nd level - so much fun driving up that spiral entrance! There were 4 adults in our group and the room accommodated us all nicely. Roomy, comfortable and clean. The Riverwalk is accessible just across the street, as well as multiple entrances throughout the city. Safety concerns were not an issue. My 2 daughters went out on their own and never had any problems. Thank you Plaza Hotel staff and housekeeping for making our first trip to San Antonio a very ... Read more

was never told about parking charges only to arrive and be hit with $40 worth... 20 or so from the hotel, but since they didnt have any more room, our other vehicle had to be parked at a pay lot next door which forced us to rearrange our schedule and make sure we were there to add money to the lot or risk being towed. to add to that frustration, our first room had cigarette butts all over the balcony and a broken air conditioner that took them until well after midnight before they have up trying... Hotel was nice but overall just average and dated. Nice people working there. Amenities were nice. They had soap and shampoo DISPENSERS! Not small "one-time-use" bottles... This was nice for sure! Pool was nice and clean, although we didn't use it. I'd recommend this hotel.

Our AC went out and this was the only available hotel outside of Motel 6. It was $449 for 2 nights plus parking, which was overpriced for the room quality. The shower dripped constantly and the bed, flooring and furniture seemed old. The pool was only 4ft deep and no jacuzzi.

I chose this hotel for lodging during the AVMA convention. The location was close enough to walk to the convention center and Riverwalk. My room was spacious and clean. Super friendly, helpful staff. Great location, great private pool up on the roof, extended hours in the hotel bar. Literally a 2 min slow walk to the Riverwalk, but you enter on one end and must walk another 15min along the river to get to the shops. We liked that. Parking was supposed to be available, but the lot was full at late check-in at 21:30. There is a private lot right next door, do the same $$, but you have to get up at 0700 in the morning to get a new ticket. Plan accordingly.

We had a great time at the hotel. We plan to visit again in the future. And I have already recommended the hotel to friends. This is a hotel which pretend to be on the riverwalk but in reality is far from the action, you need to walk several blocks before you get to the busy section of riverwalk to eat or shop. Pool is located on 4th floor in the middle of bunch of rooms , you feel like you moved to a 1960 Hollywood apartment. It looks nothing like to website photos, they did a good job.

The hotel as a whole was clean. Amenities lacked, but they were ready to accommodate when asked. The biggest issue we had was the leaking toilet. Reported twice and told it would be taken care of while we were out. Never happened, my husband ended using one of his tshirts to catch the leak so it would not continue to spread. Coffee shop, you are better off making the coffee in your own room (which wasn't bad at all). The mocha Latte was cold and my husbands coffee in was lukewarm.

We have been staying in this hotel for nearly 8 years, and they haven't updated since then. In fact, I think they are removing amenities. The rooms are dark and dreary, the toiletries are wall-mounted dispensers with shampoo/conditioner combo and terrible-in room coffee with a sad cafe downstairs, and the walls are paper thin. Very close to the Riverwalk and within walking distance of good food and sights. Parking on site is an additional $20.00 which wasn't evident on any of the review sites. You could easily stay here for a week and be comfortable. Didn't notice any families at the hotel but that was probably because of the time frame. If you are sight seeing and traveling on a budget, this was a reasonable price for a downtown location.
