They are updating the entire Motel. There is work still to be done , fresh paint etc looks very good. A few bugs to work out but nothing very bad . Clean and easy to access once you get it sorted out. The desk people were yery good, especially the afternoon/evening person,(sorry lost her name ) is outstanding. She made recommendations and assisted in directions. They have ways to go get up to the old HOJO which was always a pleasure to stay at. Hope they get there soon

They were having renovations, but it still needs a little more work done. The rooms were a nice size, and the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom door would not close all the way. The doors that separate the rooms would not close, and there really is no privacy as they are glass doors. The walls are thin because you can hear everything in the next room. The hot tub only gets luke warm, and the pool was dirty. I'd say if you are just looking for a nights sleep and nothing more, this place ... Read more

After staying only one night my daughter, my two granddaughters and myself became ill due to the dust and paint in the air. My granddaughters both missed school this next day with acheing sinus and sore throats. We should have been told the hotel was in the middle of remodeling.

I guess I just wasn't in the mood to make a fuss after the hassle of navigating the interstate construction but this was the worst place we stayed in 28 nights on the road. The desk clerk was very nice and recommended a good place for BBQ but he (maybe innocently) stuck us in on of the rooms that surely was on the remodel list but we got there a month too early. (See Pix) I think Wyndham needs to establish their own quality control and at some point, rooms should not be rented or the facility ... Read more

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the location. My daughter is stationed at Fort Sam Houston, and it was on a 5 minute drive to her:) The hotel is so out dated it is sad. Drawers don't open, television didn't work and it was reported at check in and still not fixed by check out!! The bed was covered with sheets that had blood stains on them, the valet for suit cases was torn and had cigarette burns on it. The lamp shades were torn and do discolored they barely gave light. Rooms were small queen beds were full beds. Could a bed bug in our room that bit me 11 times. When I demanded a new room front desk worker told me it was probably a mosquito and she could not help me. The manager was unavailable for two days and when I finally spoke to him he only said he would let me know if they if the exterminator found any bugs. I actually picked the bug up that bit me and put it in the sink but they couldn't even come look at it. In short I would never stay at this hotel ag... Read more

The staff was not nice or welcoming. I had to ask for a non smoking room twice. The first room I was put in had mold. The entire place smelled of death. Will never refer anyone to this hotel or chain. Pictures were deceiving. Do not stay here I'd rather stay in a card board box I also asked for a receipt which I was denied

I loved the value and idea of the 2 king size bed suite. The hotel itself is older. Beds very comfortable. Room clean. Bathroom very small. The woman on the night shift that checked us in and out was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast "buffet" was what most hotels call continental. 1 morning I had to wipe off tables so we could sit and very little of the food was out. We had an issue with someone parking new truck in the handicap parking space that did not have handicap sticker/tags. She... Read more

Got what I paid for! $80 obviously doesn't get you very much. Room and hotel were the dirtiest place I've stayed. After wiping down the phone with the washcloth, I realized they had not cleaned it in a while. Disgusting! All bathroom fixtures were dirty and very outdated. Dirt in the grout of the shower. Dust on the trim boards. Television was fuzzy. Pillows were hard as a rock. Couldn't wait to get out of the hotel.

The building is slightly worn. They've attempted to fix and update, but missing door trim in the bathroom is an example of less than stellar appearance. Worn furniture. Dorm size fridge sitting on floor instead of in the opening designed for it in the dresser. Room smelled. Undersized bath towels that were cheap and rough. Worn out pillows and worn out pillow cases. The beach towels for the pool were (not kidding) the size of hand towels. The rooms were a decent size but no seating. Had ... Read more

The staff was rude. Microwave in room did not work and when I asked for another they told me they would see if they could get one but not really concerned about it. Also housekeeping did not come on that second day and when I reported it to front desk, they didnt seem too concerned about that either. Would not stay at this hotel EVER again!!!

HoJo's haven't been contemporary for 30 years now. We just needed a place to sleep for an overnight stay and this filled the bill. The sheets were approx 140 count, all the hardware was dated, fixtures and faucets, too. We spent 94 bucks and spent the night, leaving early the next AM. Location was poor with construction the past 20-30 years making HoJo hard to reach. Would not recommend for anything except place to sleep and move along.

Hi I have had the worst experience of my life in your hotels, the pictures shared speaks by themselves. I opened two cases with Wyndham (I was at the Howard Johnson and I got transferred to the micro-hotel where the things went worst), the only response I got is that I must have to speak with the manager which I did and he just said that the economy hotels are not my thing, he strongly recommend me to stay at 5 starts hotels for the next time. We had an issue upon checking in with the room being different than we first thought, and the manager immediately helped us resolve the issue for an additional charge per night. Our room was not ready we have a 3:30 check in and the room wasn't ready till 4:30. The handicap accessible bathroom had a shower care that was unusable d desk chair in the room only had three wheels. At the outside of our door there was a rug that have been placed there for when it rains and it was sprayed and coming up and apart on the edges it should have been replaced or taken up. For a handicap accessible room these things were not acceptable and are dangerous for those who are handicapped.

We stayed 4 nights for $275 which is a great price for a family on a budget. The hotel was undergoing renovations so there were mismatched carpeting and some obvious things that needed repair, and some weird smells inside the room/hall, if you care about those things. Overall the stay was great. The staff were friendly, breakfast was great, the room was cleaned every couple days. It should have been obvious to the motel not to let people stay in a area of the motel when the hallway smelled of mold and the hallway carpet coming up, as a trip hazard. With the smell of the hallway being apart of the room. It was the third day of stay when a carpenter finally re did the floor and secured the carpet. I would suggest having fruit being apart of the breakfast.

Once we got into the rooms total different story. It was extremely hot. The room did cool down until late that night, and we was there since the afternoon. I thought $66 for a suite was suspicious, but decided to give it a shot since we really wanted the extra room. It's just old and pretty unclean. The receptions and check-in was very accommodating considering we were on a spontaneous weekend trip. Our check in was at 3 am so we were planning on staying in until our 12 pm check out. It didn't happen as there was construction/carpet replacement in the hallway early in the morning. I don't understand how this type of work gets done on a holiday. (Labor Day). The banging was so hard that it woke me up. Needless to say, I couldn't even watch tv without the horrible banging.

This hotel was trying... apparently "remodeling" done recently (some rooms still under construction) but it seemed like lipstick on a pig, haphazard. Poorly done paint and finishes; for instance, near stairwells on second floor, the carpet baseboard had not been finished and the edges were hanging loosely out over the stairs. Our room's window had been replaced but no molding done, so the wallboard, etc., was all exposed. Beds were not made up during the day. Towels were minimal. Just a so-so pl... Read more

I stayed at this hotel based on it's proximity to Fort Sam Houston while attending my son's graduation. The check in was easy with a friendly staff. I see a lot of construction workers as residents here, some are long term residents so that may be a big source of their business. The halls had a strange smell but my room was comfortable. My fiancé and I got to our room late after a long flight and we found dried paint on our sheets. In the morning we also found makeup all over our towels. The staff did provide us with new sheets and towels, however that should have never happened, it's disgusting! Not only did we have dirty linens, but as we came back to our room after exploring the city and we found a broken picture frame shattered all over our floor!!!! We would not recommend this hotel in San Antonio!!!
