Aside from having the best anniversary ever at this hotel....the Brioch French toast is AMAZING. It's one of my missions in life to find the best French toast...this place has it. And a clean room. Etc. no complaints. We happened to have a huge thunder storm while we were staying there. The balcony made for an amazing view of the storm. One of my favorite Hilton stays ever

Gabe at front desk could not have been more accommodating and willing to address any and all concerns we had. Parents, daughter and husband celebrating 60 and 25 year anniversary respectively and Gabe made the whole stay something special to remember. Of course the hotel itself was the best located right on the River walk making it a delightful experience.

Directly on the river walk, the Hilton service is very good and rooms recently updated. The mattresses and pillows are very comfortable. There are two view choices - the river walk/city view side or less attractive street/convention center/Alamo side. Their website allows a guest to choose their room before arrival, showing all the floors and rooms available. The price is the same for either view so choose the river side if available. We stayed river side on the 19th floor next to the elevator. ... Read more

We had stayed here many times before but the hotel was renovated a few years ago and we were very curious as to how it had changed. The hotel is beautiful and sparkling clean. The staff were all professional and accommodating. Our room was a river view( noting that this part of the river has 2 water tanks that they try to disguise ). The room was immaculately clean and the housekeeper very accommodating . She cleaned in the late afternoon when we left to go out. I forgot to put out my breakfast... Read more

Spur of the moment reservations, on weekends in a big tourist city can be scarce. The Hilton site overcame this and worked for us while driving into San Antonio. Within 30 minutes of a phone contact we were checking in. The agent at the desk had trouble finding the reservation because it was not in the system so quickly, but did locate it by cross referencing info. Turns out they could not give us what the phone agent promised, a high room, so we settled for a fifth floor room which did have a ... Read more

The location is unbeatable. We had dinner right on the Riverwalk, and had no problem in finding a table. But the server took forever to get us the menus, and to clean the table. And the kids dropped food on the ground, we ended up cleaning it ourselves, as she never came around to check on us. The only draw back was the construction across the street at the convention center. You can ask for a room not facing the street if this is a concern. There staff provided friendly service that we appreciated, special thanks to Pilar for taking care of anything we needed. She is a real professional. We will definitely be back... Read more

Currently in hotel and I must say I'm really glad I chose this property! We are on the 19th floor, Riverwalk side, and we are quite pleased. The room is modernly decorated, clean and updated. Our balcony provides a perfect view of the Riverwalk and city. Wasn't sure if double beds would work for our family of 4, but beds were perfect! The only drawback for me was the fact that self parking garage was across the street and down a bit...other than that, I will DEFINITELY stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio. It was our 34th wedding anniversary and when we got to the hotel they could not find our reservation, Tarrah P., at the front desk, took it upon herself to make it right....which she did. Hotel is right on the river, and easily accessible to many bars and restaurants.

Normally I don't review large business hotels but because this one is right on the Riverwalk and visited by as many tourists as business travelers I felt compelled. The building is older and a little tired in spots without much of a "wow" factor to it but it is nicely situated on the Riverwalk which made the breakfast so enjoyable that you wanted to linger as the dining room is a great place to enjoy the river and people watch. There are a lot of beautiful hotels in San Antonio especially on the Riverwalk. We selected the Hilton Palacio del Rio because of the location. Be aware that the parking garage is a block and half away. If you plan to park and not move your car you can save money by not declaring your car on check in but instead pulling a ticket at the very same not-next-door garage. And you'll be able to park on a lower floor. The hotel has the 7th floor the drive up requires two challenging scans of their flimsy paper hang tag. The hotel itself is conveniently located on the River near shops and restaurants. It's a typical Hilton quality-wise.

I will definitely be back to this hotel. Everything about my stay was great. Excellent room and service. The breakfast buffet was outstanding! Very fresh and excellent selection. The made-to-order omelettes were delicious!

Yes, it's a little pricey but taking into consideration the location, view and atmosphere it was well worth the price. Plus the hotel itself was very nice and the staff was awesome. Greeted us each morning with a smile and a "what can I help you with today?" attitude. Loved the balcony in our room overlooking the Riverwalk which was beautiful at night all lit up. Try the little Riverwalk sidewalk bar called Durty Nelly's. It was a HIT! Piano bar where you could sing along and get the crowd... Read more

Stayed here when in town for a science teacher conference. The location could not be more perfect! You walk out the door right to the Riverwalk on one side, and are a block from the convention center on the other side. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. There is construction across the street from the main hotel entrance but we weren't bothered by any noise. And the view from our room was beautiful at night - perfect view of Tower of the Americas.

The excellent service started as I was checking in. The front desk staff welcomed me before I even got to the desk and work Streamley helpful and professional and all and everything that they did. And food and wait staff in all of the restaurants in areas where the conference were extremely professional and helpful. The Sellitti's were modern and extremely clean. The views out the Riverwalk side of the hotel were just gorgeous. A definite will visit this place again

Quick trip to San Antonio. Never been before. Stayed at this very nice Hilton located right on the River Walk. Rooms are updated and quiet. Fitness Center is good; could be bigger; crowded this morning. Breakfast buffet is above average...fresh fruit; great variety. Friendly staff. No complaints. Very reasonable rates. I would stay here again.

Top notch service! Location! Did I mention service? Amazing customer service made this stay truly a destination worth visiting. This hotel has been here a while. The location demands the price, but the service makes it all worth it! In down town settings, you can't have a brand new facility, but this hotel was continually being updated and maintained. I found it to be mostly clean, and comfortable. The bed was decent, the pillows were satisfactory. The A/C worked well and the river view... Read more

Perfectly located on the Riverwalk, in a social area of the Riverwalk. Ca board the canal boat just across the foot bridge from the hotel. Nice restaurant within the hotel. Amazingly comfortable bed, great bathroom. Will certainly stay here again and recommend you do too!

A very pleasant hotel, close to the River Walk. Right next door is the quaint La Villita Historic Arts Village with nice little shops by local artists. The service was friendly. The hotel booked me in two different rooms on my arrival, one for myself and one for me and my roommate. This presented some problems upon arrive and departure, but they were settled nicely. Please know that the outlets for the bedside lamps are only for charging phones. They do not have enough power for any CPAC machine... Read more

This was an excellent stay. We were at a conference and very pleased with the updated rooms - think motion activated lights and many other earth friendly features. There was construction on non river side where our first room was and we complained and were promptly moved to better room on river side. We also had a function in the Stetson Room during the conference and it was truly a beautiful room facing the river. Besides forgetting how small double beds were , this was a perfect stay and defi... Read more

The Hilton Palacio Del Rio is one of the really beautiful‚??and beautifully sited‚??hotels in the Hilton chain. An older, architecturally-famous modular hotel built in 1968 for San Antonio‚??s HemisFair ‚??68, recent renovations make it look like it opened yesterday. The rooms are great, sort of mid-century modern like the hallways, and equipped with energy-saving lights and motion-sensing light switches. Each room has a balcony that affords a killer view of the downtown skyline of San Anton... Read more

My wife and I wanted to have a getaway weekend and stay on the Riverwalk. As a whole we were pretty pleased with the hotel. It is located in the heart of the Riverwalk and has quick access to the local shops/mall/etc. We forked over the extra 60 bucks for the riverside balcony, which in itself was pretty good. Unfortunately we didn't have much of a view outside of the 6th floor balcony, but it wasn't terrible. I think if we were on a higher floor we'd be much more upset because the view of the r... Nice location, on a quieter end of the Riverwalk. They are doing construction next door in the Convention Center area. Early morning construction and heavy equipment ( 6 Am) can be annoying. Parking is expensive and off site. I'd recommend valet parking; a little more expensive, but you avoid the sketchy characters/ homeless that hang out in that area on street level. Rooms are very clean and beds are great! Service in the Riveredge cafe left a lot to be desired ( Bkft). Overall a good place t... Read more

We had always wanted to watch the annual River parade the day after Thanksgiving and this year made arrangements With the Hikton. We spend several nights at Thanksgiving in a comfortable river view room with a balcony to holiday parade watch. We discovered after our dream stay we had neglected to get a wallet from the safe before we left. All identification, medical insurance, and credit cards were in the wallet. I called the front desk and connected with security. Security took steps immediatel... Read more

Do not stay at this hotel if you intend to get some sleep. Or, if you do, stay on the Riverwalk side. It's ironic that I suggest this because you usually hear that the noise from the Riverwalk partying will keep you up at night, but that is nothing compared to what we had to put up with from the street side. All night long we listened to loud cars with no mufflers race up and down the streets - revving and backfiring their engines. This wen on for the two nights we were there. We were on th... Read more

Stayed at the Palacio del Rio for 3 days in November while visiting San Antonio. We arrived from the airport and were immediately checked in. Our room was a good size and the bed was wonderful. We had no trouble sleeping, which is unusual for me especially. Bathroom was big and clean. Each room has a nice balcony. One side of the building faces the Riverwalk and the other side faces the Convention Center, which is currently under construction. This did not bother us at all. Didn't hear t... Read more

All you HILTON frequent sleepers will be asked if you want breakfast or points. Take the points! This hotel is in the perfect spot downtown to stroll to a nice breakfast place. There are others but I really like Schilo's which is around the corner and across the river. About a 2 min walk. This property has no executive lounge anyway.
