A gem of a find. We were here for a convention and wanted to make the trip more of a couple's retreat between all the meetings. Sitting right next to the Alamo it is only a block from the Riverwalk but also only blocks from the theatre and music venues of the city. The staff is great and the hotel provides a car (Mercedes SUV) for free if traveling within downtown. A great thing for getting to the Convention Center, dinners, etc. the restaurant is good and the bartenders friendly, lively and gre... Read more

We recently spent a night at the Emily in a Junior Suite to celebrate my birthday. This was our second stay at the hotel and just as our first stay years ago it was very pleasant. The staff was cordial and made sure that you knew that they were available if needed. We arrived after 3:00pm and our room was not ready so we were treated to a complimentary beverage and appetizer at the restaurant. We enjoyed both!

First; great staff. Very helpful and friendly without gushing. Second; room looked nothing like the images. Plain and cramped. Third; valet parking is $35/night. That is posted on the website but once there I realized there seemed to be no realistic options. Other nearby hotels offer much better value.

I absolutely loved our stay here we walked everywhere downtown and we enjoyed the restaurant ORO in the hotel. The staff was very friendly. Would have been nice to have a microwave and mini fridge. Also the pool towels ran out I called for more but sadly they went there in time before I had to take my son back to our room.

It is a picturesque hotel but our experience was disappointing. Our room was in the back of the hotel facing a parking lot and 2 floors above a very noisy pool area. We are loyal HHonors members and were told that we could not upgrade or relocate. What can I say? Not happy....

Great location. Excellent beds and pillows. Walking distance to riverwalk & of course the Alamo. Didn't like paying $35/day for valet parking although it has unlimited in/out service. By the time you've gone several places you've spent an extra $10/day tipping. That being said, the valet did a great job. Overall great experience and I'd stay here again.

We stayed here for three nights for our first visit to San Antonio. We were quite impressed. The front office supervisor Jena Ceja was so nice and friendly. She made a great impression of Hilton and Texas! Our room was beautiful with a great view looking right over the Alamo site. The hotel is nicely located near the Alamo and Riverwalk. This has become one of our top favorite hotels. Everything was perfect - we can actually NOT think of anything or anyway to have improved our stay. We hi... Read more

On Friday, April 29, 2016, I introduced a friend to San Antonio. Being from Boston, she wanted to see some of the local flavor. Having lived in San Antonio for years before moving to the Austin area, I had walked by the Emily Morgan numerous times but never went in. My friend and I went decided to go in on the early evening of April 29. We planned on just having a drink, and we didn't want to take up a waiter's table for that, but Charles warmly invited us to sit at his table, and it was because... Read more

Stayed at the Emily Morgan, the only place I stay when in San Antonio. The room and service are always on point and as always the view was great. If you are in San Antonio and you want to be near the river walk or just located at a premium hotel I suggest you stay here. It is the only place I stay when traveling on business or for pleasure.

We were here for a reunion. The staff took excellent care of us. Our rooms were comfortable. The building is a city landmark having been converted from the Medical Arts building. We were right across from the Alamo and it was an easy walk to the River shops and restaurants.

I stayed here for 4 nights. Check in was a breeze and the front desk staff were so friendly and helpful ( both morning and evening desk clerks). My room looked right over the Alamo and was quiet and clean. I ate a sandwich and had a margarita at the bar one evening and both were delicious! When I return to San Antonio, I will definitely stay at the Emily Morgan Doubletree!

This is our second time staying at the Emily Morgan Hotel, this time we brought my sister and her husband who were here visiting from Germany with us. We checked in and got two rooms one on King Suite on the 3rd floor and one King Room on the 14th Floor. Wow the 3rd room King Suite was great, you have a view to the Alamo even though at this level all you see is trees. We stayed at the Emily Morgan for the first time because of the location, and some of the stories we'd heard about it being haunted. Our room was fantastic, with a nice view of the Alamo, and large sitting area. The pool was nice and comfortable, for a break from the summer heat too. Most of the staff was hesitant to talk about the haunted reputation, but we got a couple to tell us about some great stories that happened to other guests, as well as things they had witnessed.

We used our Hilton points to stay here following a conference in Austin. My son who is a fan of the Alamo got a surprise when we stayed for a night. Our room had a perfect view of the Alamo. The hotel, now a double tree, has a tremendous amount of history and the location is accessible to anything you would want on the river walk. A concrete facade partially covers the windows of the outside rooms of this floor, and the sun sets on the west side which faces the post office. We enjoyed our stay here. Hotel is right next to the Alamo and lots of other attractions. No refrigerator or microwave in the room, which was a negative. And I hated to pay $4 for a glass of milk from the bar multiple times, for my toddler, but other than that...it was nice. Staff was friendly and courteous. House keeping was a little late some mornings but got the job done none the less. We would stay here again because of the convenience of the location.

The staff, from the front desk, the room service, the GM, to the Sales Director have gone above and beyond to ensure that my stay (weekly) was excellent. This was a one-night trip to San Antonio to visit with friends and we used a combination of money and point for our stay. We had carefully picked this hotel because it had a 4+ star rating here on Trip Advisor (and elsewhere). We even put in the notes on reservation that we would prefer a high floor with a "beautiful view of the city" so I could take some night photography of the city from a high room. Great Location across from the Alamo and all the touristy stuff. Parking is $35/day with in/out privileges (can be a hassle if you're in a hurry for your car). Great Old architecture building but strangely remodeled/designed rooms. This hotel is the better historic hotel choice if you're wanting to stay around The Alamo. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are helpful and kind. The in/out valet was a true benefit, too. I know you can ride a trolley around town, but I'd rather drive myself to the missions and spend all the time I want there without having to worry about a schedule. I'll be back to this hotel for sure!

On the positive, the hotel was in a nice location right across the street from the Alamo and walking distance from river walk and the small downtown area. However, the hotel was outdated and a bit creepy, the hallways were dimly lit and the rooms were also dim and dark. There was no Starbucks and their coffee was not up to the standards that I enjoy. Couple that with the ghost stories on the website and nightly ghost walk tours and it made for an unpleasant stay. I stayed for 5 nights and fo... Read more

This is a beautiful historic Doubletree property. It was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. Our room was exceptionally well appointed and clean, and the staff was friendly and professional. Our only hiccup was that the valet service insisted that our car be completely unloaded due to security/liability issues. This was no small undertaking considering we'd packed for a 30 day trip. Great hotel. We booked a room for New Years Eve (2015) and had no idea of its haunted past (the 3rd most haunted hotel in the world). We usually book with the Menger, but we wanted to try something different being that this hotel is said to be haunted, big mistake that we have regretted to this day. We arrived Thursday evening. First off, we were not given the room we were guaranteed to get. Ok. No biggie. It should still be fun, right? We take the elevator to our room and walk out onto the floor and there is nothing to it. I me... Read more

My first visit to San Antonio and I couldn't have chosen a sweeter location. The staff was as warm and sweet as the signature chocolate chip cookie that you are greeted with upon arrival. From arrival to departure, everyone...valet, bell-hop, front desk and restaurant staff were fabulous. To add to that is an unbeatable location. Walkable to everything you could possibly want to do. Alamo..just cross the street. A Riverwalk entrance go down two more streets and pick up ice cream, Starbucks ... Read more

It was our second attempt to attend the Riverwalk parade since it cancelled due to a torrential downpour last year. We were greeted warmly by the valet and staff upon arrival and promptly escorted to our lovely, Dog friendly room. Yes the staff always welcomes our pet as well. Breakfast at the hotel lead to meeting the most delightful young lady working in the restaurant, Stephanie. She will brighten your day and bring you coffee at the same time. The history of the location adds an additional ... Read more

We have stayed at The Emily Morgan a couple of times this year and each time have been delighted with our time there. The staff is always helpful and personable. The location is very convenient to The Alamo (right across the street) and Riverwalk. We were there for Thanksgiving and the boat parade for the Christmas lighting. Our trip was phenomenal.

I had booked a room with a garden tub for my husband and I. Check in was great, the room was great. We wanted to get ready to go out for the night so we decided to take a bath in the huge garden tub. I was still laying in the tub when my husband decided to get out. He put his hand on the towel rack and it fell down to where I was laying in the tub. It hit me under my left eye. I got up to see what happened. I had a huge gash and a black eye with swelling from the towel rack. I called the front d... Read more

This hotel is first class, the staff is very professional, the rooms are updated, and very clean. It's located beside the Alamo, and a short walk to the river walk. Perfect Location! The bar downstairs was very nice and a complete selection of top shelf liquors, and great beer.
