I see this hotel is now going through renovations? I hope this includes removal of all the cigarette butts in non-smoking rooms? I last stayed in this property last fall and after finding cigarette butts in several places in the room i vowed to not step in here again. I also hope they go 100% non smoking. If you actually try staying here and do not smoke, i wish you the best of luck to get a room that is "butt" free! Sidenote: i did tell the front desk. They didn't care.

I do not recommend staying at this hotel while the main floor/lobby/restaurant/breakfast and dinner reception areas are under construction. Very unsafe walking areas. The breakfast was not a full service hot breakfast.

You can plan to sleep here and use the pool, but get breakfast somewhere else. Breakfast was not made to order as normal and what was served had no flavor it was very cold. Normally I wouldn't complain because the hotel was clean. But we went this place and paid the prices because it's nice to have a good breakfast. Just wasn't what we have had at Embassy suites in the past. And don't use the pull out couch it was slanted and rediculous lay uncomfortable

I was a guest at this hotel for 5 miserable nights. The first morning I was there, I woke up to find roaches in the bathroom. I find this highly unacceptable. I understand the hotel is under going renovations but they all are continuing to operate. So with that being said a certain standard is expected especially as a Hilton brand. I spoke to the young girl at the registration and she said the GM would contact me however. Also this is my second time staying at a Embassy suites and each time I've... Read more

I gave it a 1 start just because the staff was very nice and our room was spacious other than that everything else was terrible. To avoid any issues do not purchase "Advance Purchase " you are not able to change or get refund on anything that has to do with your stay. We got there a day earlier and we had to make a separate reservation. We also had to change rooms the next day because our room was already issued. The hotel disclosed that they would be undergoing renovations and that shouldn't be taken lightly. It is extensive interior work that makes for loud noises (jackhammers in the lobby), water shut offs during the day, and uneven walking surfaces on the main level. I was traveling with my husband and two children (1 and 3). We stayed for 4 nights. The first night I asked about getting a drain stopper for the tub so the kids could have a bath. We visited this hotel a few months ago. It is dirty with stain beds and comforters and badly in need of renovation. We could not stay here, due to the disgusting conditions in the rooms. We was sent to embassy suites airport location. We went here for my sons military graduation at Lackland AFB. The hotel was over 20 miles from the AFB, and when we got there it was just another dirty hotel with stained beds and such. We had to stay there this time and put up with it all. As others have said, this hotel is having major renovations done. My husband was called earlier in the day by the hotel to remind him of that. When I booked our stay the website also warned me about the construction. But I was surprised at all the work and kind of expected some perks for putting up with it. The hotel was in shambles. I am a Hilton Honors member and when I booked two rooms I was surprised to see I could not cancel this reservation. I think that is the case because most people would want to turn and run when they saw it! It was late and we were tired so we just headed up to our 5th floor rooms. The rooms smelled like dust and concrete. The view of the patio below was bare concrete, holes, and trenches with plastic covering piles of dirt. Also, the pull out couch was like sleeping on ... This is our preferred hotel for San Antonio, especially when taking the kids to SeaWorld. However, they are currently undergoing a massive remodel. I did not realize this when I booked. I got in late, and there was zero parking. Registration was relocated to a tiny office, and even at 11:30 pm there was a long line. They said the remodel would be finished next summer. When booking this hotel on, it shows that hotel is undergoing "renovation". That's an understatement. Property is old enough that it needs the renovation. Hotel Atrium is torn out down to foundation, with piles of rubble scattered about. Construction barriers all thru interior on 1st floor. Parking is at a minimum, due to storage containers surrounding property. Hallways on 1st floor are so narrow you can hardly get a luggage cart thru them. Dusty ugly and inconvienent for check in and wandering. When I'm at a hotel I generally like to go down to a common space to do work to get out of the room. Not an option here. If you must stay... although the suites on the 8th floor are new and completely rennovated beautiful room. We were planning on sleeping in late but were woken up at 7am by loud drilling and hammering directly underneath our room. They are working on all rooms on the seventh floor. Ask in advance before checking in if your room is as far away from any construction noise as possible. Hotel is under renovation and staying here is not recommended at this time. Breakfast, Managers Reception, and "Bar" is all located in a ball room. The hotel makes no mention of being under renovation on their website and when you show up there is no consideration as to the rate you pay. The regular staff is excellent despite the management exhibiting a "I don't care attitude" else management would take extra steps to make the stay more pleasant during renovation.

Lots of construction with construction materials strewn about and concrete dust in the air. This is not a minor renovation! The noise (hammering, electric sander buzzing) started at 8:10 and apparently as I was later told by staff could go on seven days a week from 8:00 AM till 6 PM. At one point there was only one elevator working for 8 floors. The walking surface was uneven and not clearly marked step up/downs.
