I have been staying at this hotel for 9 days now, and just booked for another 9 for business I do in the Dallas Metro-plex. First, let me mention the location is very convenient to your metro-plex stay. Convenient to 75, 635, and Bush Toll Road. The crème de la crème of this establishment, however, is its customer service. Marriott is of course known for its great customer service, which is why I am always using them. The staff at this hotel, however, were attentive to every detail. During th... Read more

This is our second stay here and it was very nice despite the ongoing construction. New carpet was laid and furniture brought into the new lobby area the week we were there - every day a new surprise. But what we enjoyed most was walking the Galatyn Woodland Preserve across Lookout Drive. It leads to the Richardson city trails. A beautiful well maintained path that offers solace in the middle of the city- we would come back to this location just for the trail!

Table of 3 ordered a Caesars salad, a grilled cheese and a grilled chicken. Over an hour and half later, nothing. Server says, bringing out items as soon as made. Front desk says oh well, they are understaffed. Missed the point-- you lost or never turned in our order. Second server comes and asks what we had, and amazingly 10 minutes later it arrives. No sorry. No admitting error. And management does not care??? Crazy response. Why spend millions on renovation and forget the main ... Read more

The hotel is actually very nice. Room was a touch nicer than your standard hotel room of this class. My problem was with bugs. I went to bed and felt something crawling on my chest. I swiped it off and then put the light on. Thank god it wasn't a roach. It was a beetle which is still not pleasant. I noticed 4 more in the bathroom. This hotel has some issues they need to take care of before I would stay there again

They are just finishing up a major remodel of the lobby and some other areas of the hotel. Don't know what they paid the designer but it was too much. What was an expansive open space is now broken up. It looks like it was force fitted. On a good note, the fitness center has much needed new equipment.

This was my first visit to this property. I was looking for an up-scale Marriott property north of Dallas, and was only finding the Residence Inn until I shifted my search to Plano. (Not faulting a Residence Inn - I love them, but they are not really up-scale typically). The lobby/atrium is beautiful, the rooms nicely appointed, and the staff very helpful. Its rare that staff will actually seem to care about whether you are happy, but they certainly did here. Certainly a place to check i... Read more

We had planned to spend a couple of days in the Plano-Richardson Area. We found the Renaissance here had a very good night rate for our two nights. The recent renovations of the hotel was impressive and trendy with lots of lounge chairs in the atrium and the lower floor. Lots of places to relax. Our check in by a young lady, Sydney, was really friendly and efficient. Being a Marriott Gold Member, we were given a room on the Top 12th Floor, close to the Executive Lounge, where we have access... Read more

Fast check-in. Clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed and pillows. Hot shower. Great breakfast and lunch. Love the new menu. The renovations made to the common area is beautiful. I can't wait to see what is done to the rooms and meeting rooms. See you again in January.

The room was beautiful, latest TV technology in the room, the lobby excellent, staff very nice. Having to either pay for self-parking in a lot across the street or pay more for valet parking was not the greatest. Just as I had settled in, the fire alarm went off. The staff was very accommodating, but since it was not a drill or test, the elevators were shut down and everybody had to use the stairs. Positive on the stairwell, they had glue traps everywhere to catch bugs, negative - those traps ... Read more

We stay here once or twice per year for performance convenience. They are currently renovating the hotel and revamping the kitchen menu. The food is decent. Rooms are clean, But service in the restaurant downstairs could use some improvement. I would recommend this hotel for family and business.

My husband and I stay here a couple of times a year when we are in Dallas for a little get-away. We like this hotel because they have very reasonable rates! It is a high rise luxury hotel and has gone through a lobby renovation which is very nice. The rooms, however need updating...they aren't bad but it is just time for an update. The bed was very comfy. The air conditioning needs work. I think this hotel has some kind of air conditioning system that auto governs the temperature so that ... Read more

Our stay at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson exceeded expectations on every front. The rooms were less expensive than some of the other hotels we considered, but it was convenient to the event we were attending, so we expected a tradeoff of convenience for luxury and were happily proven wrong! You know how some hotels treat you as though you should consider yourselves lucky to be staying in their hotel, and your requests are an annoyance to the staff. I am a Platinum Elite Marriott Rewards member. I had a certificate for a free night up to category 5 and we were only passing through for one night. This hotel is a Cat 3 but looks Cat 5+ inside. We arrived at 2:00am and checked in no problem. Make note that parking is in a tower garage adjacent to the hotel. It isn't a problem yet at 2:00am I was very aware of my surroundings. The room was nice as always just a short night. I did think it strange that the in room dining menu was printed on pape... Read more

It's a good hotel; no doubt about it. Large rooms, additional services, but ... Breakfast could offer more choices, not many alternatives for transport ( taxis are rare in Dallas), air conditioning was turned on every day in the room despite I was switching it off (rooms were really cold! ). Finally, they never sent me the invoice. They could do more for the visitor.

I was at the Renaissance for a historical group's convention, and first have to brag on staff. They were friendly and accommodating, and quickly responsive to every request. The rooms were large and clean, and I appreciate that, as well. I had breakfast and lunch there, choosing their buffet, and thought they were great values. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, but more require a car - or the hotel shuttle. The Renaissance was everything I expected, and staff were incredibly friendl... Read more

I stayed here just so I wouldn't have to drive home after a long night with friends. I personally enjoyed the way the rooms are set up. Very safe for a single woman staying there. No hiding places. The parking garage was a bit of a walk and only $4 cheaper then valet parking. It was packed with high school dance teams...but still very quite. No fridge in room is one disappointment.

Reaching the hotel from DFW airport by rental car took approx. 30 minutes. The lobby is modern and looks impressive from the glass elevator which rises through the atrium. The guest room I had on the 6th floor appeared dated and overlooked the highway and mechanical area, which was very noisy at night. I loved the toiletry brand (Aveda). The shower had a good pressure output. (No dressing gown available :( ) No fridge in the room, just an ice bucket & glasses (coffee maker available). Saf... Read more

Visited for one night on business. Valet parking was very convenient and staff very friendly. Check in was quick and the staff was helpful and welcoming. Lobby is beautiful. My room was spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable and linens were nice. We enjoyed a few drinks downstairs and the outdoor patio was very comfortable. The bar needs significantly more staff. We waited for over a half hour at one point for a drink. The staff was really working their tails off.

This was such a fun stay for us. The room was very clean and the staff was extra friendly!! The bed was very comfy(much better than our own). The food was good, and the environment was fun, as well. My son absolutely loved it, and he was the only reason we got a hotel to begin with. We were sad to leave, especially when we got home to the mess we left it in and our own beds!! We definitely will be back.

I usually stay at this property for work several times a year and boy has the quality gone down in the past year, even after the remodel was complete. Checked in two days ago and was given a room on the 12th floor that smelled like mildew. When I walked in, I saw several bugs and went back to the front desk. The reception told me that it was cricket season and that they kept getting into the hotel. That is unsanitary and completely unacceptable and apparently they knew about the issue and coul... Very nice hotel... clean and super comfy. Staff very friendly. We were able to get a package that included parking, train tickets, and tickets to the state fair. The rate worked out to be very low when you favored in the freebies. The train stops literally right in front of the hotel and then drops you off at the front gates of the fair. There is a bar inside with great food and strong drinks. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

The reception from all the staff was very welcoming from the outset. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Comes with a safe and fridge. Though the fridge froze most of the beer on a 3 setting after a few days. Now if we had any negatives that caused the rating to be 4 instead of 5 was some of the bar/food service. It seemed there was servers new at the job. Even though the restaurant wasn't busy the service was a might slow.during breakfast. Server didn't know what rye bread was. During dinner... Read more
