Hampton Inn Kilgore
3109 Highway 259 North, Kilgore, TX US 75662

strike it rich in oil country...welcome to the Hampton Inn-Kilgore. On October 3rd, 1930, an independent oil man named Columbus "Dad" Joiner struck oil on a plot of land near Kilgore, Texas, transforming the peaceful farming community into a bustling boom town almost overnight. As the oil boom subsided, the area that now surrounds our Kilgore hotel evolved into a quiet east Texas town that takes pride in its history, and welcomes you to visit and celebrate what's happening in east Texas today, including a world-class Shakespeare festival, a world-famous college drill team and perhaps the only place in the world where you're guaranteed a white Christmas.Wind your way through the oil derricks that populate "the world's richest acre", a tiny parcel of land in historic downtown Kilgore that has produced more than 2.5 million barrels of oil. The famous plot of oil-rich land is located just minutes from our hotel in Kilgore. High step your way to the Rangerette Showcase Museum, home to the most famous drill team in the world - The Kilgore College Rangerettes. A few miles away from the Hampton Inn Kilgore, TX hotel, you're encouraged to time travel back to the 1930's during the height of Kilgore's oil boom at the East Texas Oil Museum. You'll find that we love the holidays here in the heart of Texas. Visit our Kilgore, Texas hotel as our city transforms the downtown oil derricks into sky-scraping Christmas "trees" adorned with colored lights and shining stars. No matter what time of year you visit the Hampton Inn, you'll find it easy to strike it rich - with fun. services & amenities Here at the Hampton Inn Kilgore, we're passionate about taking good care of you. Enjoyed the stay, the room, cleanliness, breakfast, and convenient location. Front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and served as a consierge as well. The only negative was theft of items in a vehicle while parked in lighted lot.

Anything I needed was provided, very kind, warm, friendly staff. The breakfast was always on time, hot coffee, plenty of room in the breakfast area. Cookies in the evening were a real treat. We requested a specific room and were given what we needed without question.

This was our 3rd time to stay at this hotel and we knew exactly what to expect: clean rooms, hot breakfast, convenient location to all of our destinations, friendly staff. The only "improvement" tip I can think of would be to keep a closer eye on the breakfast items. During our 4-day stay, we had to wait twice for the food to be re-stocked. Although the wait was only about 15 minutes each time, we were on a very limited time schedule to see all the museums and meet up with relatives in the a... Read more

Nice quiet place. Close to nice restaurants. People in the area very friendly. I commend the young man who gave us directions to the hotel. We had taken a wrong exit but the young worker knew the area and gave us explicit directions.

Stayed here on Sunday over Memorial Day. Close to I-20, but felt out in a secluded area. But much traffic. Accommodations were clean-good stay. Slept in and missed breakfast, but the area looked clean and well organized.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn Kilgore for a recent business trip. The property is clean and well-kept with nice amenities. My room had, I thought, an undersized TV based on the positioning of the furniture, but a minor deal overall. Beds are comfortable and room is well updated.

The location was accessible to what I had to do in the area. Breakfast was not the best, only the scramble eggs and potatoes were fine, but the juices has a strange taste to them. The bed was excellent and no noise heard next by either room or hallway.

If you are ever in the area of Kilgore or Longview, Texas, I strongly suggest you stay at the Hampton Inn. It is a small hotel that treats you like you are at home. Facility is well maintained and very clean. A complimentary nice hot breakfast in the morning and internet access where ever you are in the hotel. Pool is quaint and very refreshing. Hotel was very clean and staff were outstanding. We would stay here again. We were in town for Texas Shakes. The breakfast was satisfactory with good choices. The only minor changes needed are in regard to the pool. There were no lounge chairs or umbrellas. We would definitely stay here again!

Personnel was friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of foods but could have used a little more fruit. The coffee in the lobby was welcome after arriving. It revived me with the dark roast.

HVAC not up to par. Dehumidifiers always work better than cranking up too much air conditioning. It was freezing in our room while the hallway was not air conditioned and otherwise stuffy. Dehumidifiers can also be used to reduce hotel's water bill.

we were booked into the Hampton Inn in Kilgore Tex for a softball tournment...The hotel was easy access to the interstate..Other than the breakfast been skimpy and not replenished, it was a nice stay. The hotel was more than 20 miles from the ball park and we had a drive each morning but otherwise a very nice stay

Clean but very plain room. No AC in the hallways so it was very hot if you left the room. The pool was a square puddle of water with some deck chairs but no umbrellas or lounge chairs. the free breakfast was all but gone by 8 am and very picked over. i saw no signs of it being refreshed by the staff. we had to go somewhere else for breakfast. OK for an overnight place to stay, just don't expect too much.

Just spent the night in the Hampton Inn located in Kilgore, TX. I am a Hilton Gold member (soon to be Diamond) so I stay in a lot of Hilton brand hotels. This property is subpar in comparison to most Hampton Inns. The hotel is easy to locate, just two miles of I-20. There is ample parking space so that is no a problem. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions of where to eat. I was there on Sunday night, so most restaurants are not open. This is about where the positive end... Read more

We used this hotel as an overnight stop on our way to Louisiana. We loved it! We chose it because it was close to some of my husband's relatives that we were meeting up with for dinner. When we got there it was hot and humid, being from Colorado we aren't use to lots of humidity. When we checked in and got to our room the air conditioner was already on...awesome! The room was clean, the breakfast they served in the morning was good. It was biscuits and gravy, omelets, sausage, bacon and of co... Read more

Stayed here just one night and found it to be Hampton Inn standard....all very good. The breakfast was well stocked and the rooms were spacious and very clean. The desk staff was very friendly and professional. The only thing lacking was the exercise room. Both treadmills were broken and the elliptical was not well balanced. The equipment needs to be repaired or replaced. Otherwise this is a great property.

Drove to Kilgore for the Kilgore College football game. Expected late night noise, but it didn't happen. The front desk person was friendly, helpful, and very efficient. The room was really nice--large, clean, with extra towels that were thick, soft, and a nice surprise. It was nice to have someone who could give good directions. We were in town for Hall of Fame actives at Kilgore College. I usually love Hampton Inns. When I saw one was in Kilgore I booked it. I didn't even look at price. Why only three stars? The AC unit didn't keep the room cool. I couldn't get it to blow harder. You could turn it down but not get it to blow. The room was a sauna. After our showers it was miserable. The lobby was nice and cool. The hall and our room on floor two were so hot in October. I can't imagine what it would be like ... Read more

We checked in, went to our room to get ready for the festivities. We arrived back at our room around 9pm. We kept hear a rumbling noise that sounded like thunder. This is an older Hampton Inn but very well kept up and we actually often prefer the older Hamptons because we don't consider some of the modifications made in the newer ones to be improvements. This was a very standard Hampton Inn. One of the reasons we stay in Hamptons is because they are consistently clean, well kept and reasonably priced. This one was no exception. An excellent example of the Hampton chain.

We stayed at this hotel for our wedding since it was close to our wedding venue. I wanted everything to be perfect - and it was. Josh was GREAT! Phoned me to let me know that our room was ready for early check-in so we could unpack and go set up for our wedding. He also made sure that the additional rooms were together. It was stress free and we really appreciate it.

My wife and stayed on Friday night on our way to Canton. The front office receptionist seemed preoccupied when visiting with a friend at check-in. The room was nice and clean. I was wondering if the check-out clerk would be any friendlier, but he wasn't. Perhaps they could invest in some employee hospitality training, but we would stay here again.
