We have lived in Houston for 15 years but have never been to this hotel. We decided to do a "staycation" for a few days between Christmas and New Year. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. Very welcoming, great ambience and lovely festive decorations. We stayed on the concierge level and the extra amenities it provided helped to make our stay even better. We talked to several other guests who make an annual visit at this time of year just to relax! Enjoyed our visit to the Trell... Read more

We enjoyed a great "staycation" here for a couple of days. Everything on the concierge level was great, including HOT breakfast items during the weekdays and open bar in the evenings. Heated outdoor pools, THREE of THEM, were awesome for January in Houston on a 75 degree day. Many hotels close their pools seasonally so this was one main of the reasons we booked here. Also the BEST gym you will ever find at a hotel... multilevel with every piece of equipment you could want, indoor and outdoor t... Read more

We hosted a destination wedding to the Houstonian in June 2016. All of our friends and family said it was the best hotel service and best wedding food they ever had. That is saying a lot coming from a bunch of New Yorkers. The service from everyone was A+++! The Houstonian employees go out of their way to make sure each and every stay is perfect. From the simplest thing like sending a car service to pick us up from the Spa so we wouldn't ruin our hair on the walk back to the wedding ceremony was... Read more

In posh Houston uptown north of the Galleria, nestled (hidden really) in a thick wood of hickory and hackberry, Ponderosa pine, magnolia and iconic Texas live oaks, stands the nondescript Houstonian Hotel. The building exterior conceals the charm of this place even more than the setting. It looks more like a sprawling '70s era hospital or high school. But once you enter the Houstonian, you find yourself in what feels like a cozy, old world territorial Texan hunting lodge. Tall wainscot and stucc... Read more

I stayed at the Houstonian with my family for two nights and everything was just perfect from the moment we checked in until our departure. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The lobby was all decorated with beautiful Christmas trees and there was a toy train going around huge homemade gingerbread houses that were baked by the staff we were told. The room was nicely appointed and clean with comfortable beds, great TV choices, and above all the room was quiet so we didn't hear n... Read more

Traveled here for a 2 night business trip with our Exec team. We used the meeting rooms, restaurants and bedrooms. Meeting room: very bright, spacious, well-appointed and met our technical needs Bedrooms: mine was a double room (2 queens perhaps) and was satisfactory. While nice and in good condition, the decor felt a bit 'old school' but perhaps it is the theme. Food: fantastic at all meals Service: in a word, perfect. It was unobtrusive, yet ensured all needs were met. Wish I could giv... Read more

We love the Houstonian!! The atmosphere and location are the best in Houston. We have stayed here for years! This visit was a last minute visit. We had a small mishap upon checking in, that is not worth mentioning here. But I have to say even the supervisor of housekeeping, Rosa, and the front desk manager, Meghan, went over and beyond all measures to makeup for our little inconvenience. I have never had such proper attention and apologies for any inconvenience at other hotels. We had the mos... Read more

We had a wonderful, overnight stay during Thanksgiving week. The kids enjoyed swimming, tennis, gym & walks. Mom's enjoyed the spa, especially the relaxation room. Loved the floor length windows in our room!

Ok first up i will admit that I would stay here if they put you in tents. The pools and gym are not hotel facilities more like world class training camps. I have never run around a track indoors circling a huge gym but this hotel has this and more. Indoor basketball court. Tennis courts. 3 pools. And so on. Nice hotel too although no water in room. Seriously how hard can it be? The shower stuff is from l'Occitane. Why not swap for cheaper and give us water?!?!
