It was perfect location. Convenient to UofH main campus. Excellent service. if you have to stay downtown very easy access to everything. We order room service one night because everything downtown was already closed. (only downside) But the order was prompt and still hot. Parking is a little price so try to find a garage close by. And there are several in the area. Overall good stay for the event we were attending.

Spouse & I arrived tired and cranky from fighting traffic at rush hour. Asked if a quiet room on an upper floor was possible, and was upgraded to a corner suite on a Hilton Honors floor. Was very happy with the room, the service, and the stay. Departed the next day rested and relaxed.

The front desk staff was excellent and extremely attentive. For that matter, service of the entire hotel staff was excellent. But I can't help but feeling that the room prices are a little high for a hotel that has been allowed to age and show its age to the extent of this one. The superior location keeps it in the running however.

The rooms were excellent very clean with an excellent view from our room. Employees were very professional. And vale parking was amazing, all it took to get my truck was a text message from my phone and truck would be ready in under 5 minutes. I would stay here again and I highly recommended it to anyone that's planning to stay at doubletree.

I planned a weekend trip for my wife's 40th Birthday. The location was great since we were going to a play at the Alley Theater, dinner Downtown Houston, and after dinner drinks with friends, also in Downtown Houston. My wife and I were pleased with the great service, location, beautifully appointed rooms and friendly/helpful staff. We will definitely stay here again for future outings when we decide to do a couples trip.

For reasons no one could explain, it took 15 minutes for the shower to heat up to barely lukewarm. Unimpressive. And the corner rooms with windows all over the place do not have perfect curtain coverage. Not my favorite hotel.

Clean and attractive hotel. $30 overnight parking charge was not mentioned when reservation was made. This charge out room rate into higher tier in my mind. Those expectations were not met Unusually limited gluten free options for breakfast. Staff seemed bothered by requests. Consider other options in downtown Houston.

Stay was good. Accommodations were good and cleanliness of room was good. Valet parking was a bit slow and expensive. The front desk at check in was nice and warm. The housekeeping was very helpful. The bar area was nice and inviting although I didn't use but nice nonetheless. Finally, upon my departure the front desk was great in checking me out.

This hotel was the host hotel for the state of Missouri /Iowa. My first expierence with the hotel was the valet parking crew, very helpful/understanding. Check-in clerks were very helpful/understanding. Rooms were nice. Stocked. My only problem with the room was the low flow shower. Also, some notice of convience stores/cheaper restraunts availability would have been nice.

I lived at this hotel about 2 weeks. Breakfast was OK, but they didn't refill food in time, and I needed to wait 20 minutes to get a glass of water most of the time. The breakfast buffet is limited, sometimes there was no food and we had to wait around 10 minutes. The Trofi staff is nice but you definitely need to hire more staff, we were more than 50 people from my company and just one person serving the entire place, we never found a table for breakfast clean and we kept asking everytime for coffee mugs and even forks to eat. having just 1 person is not fair nor good at all, we were always late because the breakfast time was a total struggle. Initial check in was very disappointing as they would not accept prepaid voucher. Took an email to my travel agent to sort out- great after a 14 hr flight. Once checked in, cannot comment highly enough. The Conceirge Oeter went out of his way to help us and make sure all was fine.

This was my first stay in a Doubletree Hilton but as I have another booked for in a few days in a different location I'm pleased to say that I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is in a great location downtown, just a couple of blocks from where the airport bus drops you and opposite Sam Houston Park, which was a cute little park. You can easily walk most of downtown and can access Buffalo Bayou park quickly from the hotel - just a 15-20min walk takes you to a spot with a great view of Houston's impres... Read more

Nothing spectacular about this place just your regular average hotel. With it being downtown I thought it would have more of a modern feel to it, I'd say it be a good time for them to do some renovation and remodeling to keep in par with the other high end hotels downtown. If you looking to self park your vehicle, don't; valet parking only for $30.

Stayed here one night while in Houston for a wedding. Every staff member I came in contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. Ate in the restaurant for lunch and breakfast, and enjoyed both. There were plenty of options at both meals. The lobby has a nice bar area that's in a great location. I saw a gift shop there as well, but didn't go in to the shop. The valet staff were especially helpful, and was super quick about getting my car which not often happens at large hotels. The ro... Read more

Hotel was pricey for the condition, was likely the one of the best in the 80's and 90's. Still not bad though, rooms were spacious and bedding is great. On-site food wasn't great for the money so resorted to UberEats. Also they need to move the smoking area, piles and piles of cigarette butts near the entrance is a not a great welcome to the hotel.

Organized a conference at this hotel, with over 150 participants. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating, and overall, our week-long stay was very comfortable. The staff looked after us, the food was far better than most hotel catered fare, and the location was perfect for folks arriving from far and near. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone thinking of organizing a small to mid-sized gathering in this city.

Oh geez, where do I start? What a god-awful hotel. The room was old and smells musty. It looks and smells like it hasn't been updated since the 1980s. The staff were terse, standoffish and unhelpful. If an issue arose, they would say and do anything to get the guest to go away rather than try and help them with whatever their problem was. I've met friendlier people working the front desk at Motel 6. I was here for a conference and found long periods of time where no one was working except may... Read more

I stayed here last week while in Houston for a conference. It's centrally located (though not really near any great restaurants.) The hotel is very nice - typical downtown Doubletree - nice lounge and comfortable rooms. But what stood out for me was the professionalism and kindness of the staff. I unfortunately suffered a bad knee injury while in town, and staff was incredibly helpful in terms of helping me to get medical attention, and in following up afterwards to make sure that I was ok a... Stayed at room- 1625 between 10.11.2016 to 23.10.2016. Staff were extremely discourteous. I felt there was no feeling of hospitality with few of their staff. I had raised an issue with Amir @ Double Tree by Hilton at the Downtown Houston. He along with another staff were very discourteous and rude. I had to call the front office for 34 minutes and nobody answered my call. I was new to the city and didn't know much about how to get back to Hotel. The valet for parking was great and they were really nice but I thought it might be a little high in price. Only time it wasn't really good was when there was no hot water for the shower.

One of my favorite properties in the Hilton line is Doubletree. Family friendly, large well kept rooms standard upgrades for Gold Members, etc. I was excited about this trip since I would get to use the digital key. Upon arriving, we went straight to the room all worked well. However, the room is subpar. I might accept this quality from lower chains but not Doubletree. We asked for a room upgrade. The hotel is decent, located right in downtown Houston. The wifi is terrible. Just terrible. And when I tried to print some documents using their web printing service, I got error codes in the business center. I paid $89 for a room and they have the nerve to charge $30 to park your car. That's 1/3 of the price of the room. I should have gone with my gut and stayed out of downtown and gotten free parking for a comparable rate.
