Recently stayed at this location, our Staycation "Getaway" spot that we've frequented many times over the last few years, but after this past weekend, we're NEVER going back! Ironically, it really has nothing to do with the room itself, but rather, the following: As we are aware, Valet service is available for just a few dollars more than Self Parking. So, naturally, we take advantage of it. However, what happened this time was both shocking and upsetting, to the point we're going to have t... Read more

The Good things: the staff were kind, courteous, and helpful. The Property was not what I expected. Unlike Hamptons, charges for everything -- internet, breakfast, I expected a coin slot by the elevator to get to my room. Rooms are recently re-done and redecorated, but although this is is supposed to be a smoke-free facility and room, there were cigarette burns on the carpet and duvet. I had to hunt to find the ice machine/vending. There was no guide/directory in my room for restaurants, r... Read more

Unlike most Hiltons, even at Diamond level there is no breakfast offer. I gave a 2 stars instead of 1 thanks to this helpful person who gave me breakfast voucher on my 1st week. On the 2nd week I was repeatedly denied breakfast voucher even with my Diamond status, that's when I realized this person was being really nice and knew how to run a true customer friendly service. Anyway, do not let this hotel fools you, the breakfast they offer at the 26th floor lounge was pathetic. Their 2nd floor has... Read more

They really take pride in how they handle their customers, if you're ever in Houston Texas I highly recommend you staying at this luxury hotel

The DoubleTree's great people make this hotel a great place to be. Gladys Brown makes every stay great ?? she remembers us every week we visit, and always takes good care of us. We travel a lot, and having a "home away from home" is what keeps us coming back.

My family stayed here over the holiday weekend of Memorial Day. It was such a great choice and was very convenient to everything. Our room was nice, everyone we came in contact with (the staff) was very friendly. They were very accommodating. We also decided to use valet a few times and the guys were very prompt with getting our car each time. I will definitely be coming back here in the future!!!

I'm surprised to see so many low ratings. Everything I experienced during this multi-night stay was superb. The bed was great, the shower was great, the staff was friendly. The pool was nice, as well as the workout facility. The DoubleTree Cookies are always on point. I enjoyed the proximity of the self-parking to the actual hotel. The property was up-to-date in terms of decor. The location is right there at the Galleria. The only negative I have is that a car was broken into in the self-pa... Read more

My family and I went down to Houston to celebrate Memorial Day. The hotel has upgraded their wallpaper and furniture. I wish they would change their shower heads. The water pressure can be iffy. The biggest redo is the lobby which is beautiful. On the weekends, this hotel can get rowdy but usually everyone is friendly. I always stay at this hotel and I've never been disappointed.

I stayed here for work. I'll start with my problem. I ordered the "little extras" package. This is different at different hotels, I get that. So at checkin I asked. She said it would be in my room. It wasn't. So on the way out I asked again. She said I checked in too early and it would be there soon. Came back. It wasn't. Took the elevator down. Asked again. She called housekeeping. They said they would bring it. I went to dinner. Came back. It was there but the drink coupons were not. Back dow... Read more

So hard to drive out of the parking. Toll bar located in wrong place. You need to drive from self parking left, then 3 meters right and try to stay closer to toll bar to push the card. When you have big car it is not so easy - just not enough space for maneuver .

I was suprised at the new design and cool look. It really is different and not the double tree i expected. the rooms look more like what you see, say in vegas, very contemporary and you want to hang out in the room all day. The 50 inch LED ( I think that's the size) are new and nice to watch. The room service was fast and the people were awesome. I don't often go this far on being nice about my reviews but I would stay here again.

This hotel is amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful and always right there should you need anything. The rooms were clean and comforatable and I slept like a baby.....when I did sleep! I did digital check-in which cut down on the check-in time and also gave me a good feel for the property prior to me getting to the hotel. Last but not least there was a fresh chocolate chip cookie waiting for me.

Employees were so warm and friendly. They went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. The hotel and our suite overall was beautiful and so comfortable. If you stay, ask for "Gladys". There couldn't have been a more friendly caring desk clerk than her. She made reservations for us and was waiting at the door when we came back from our appt to see what the diagnosis was. The true test of service is how the staff handles a problem. We checked in late in the evening, only to find there was a error in the booking (probably ours) that showed our one night stay was for the previous night. The receptionist, Sue, brushed the problem away for us, cancelling the charge on the prior booking, getting us a new one for the current night, upgrading us to a larger room, and getting us on our way to room. We were definitely grateful after a long day on the road.

Being a HHonors member, they upgraded me to a nicer room which was massive! Probably the biggest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Only issue was that even though the thermostat was set at 61 degrees, it was really warm, probably at least 75 degrees. If it wasn't for the temp issue, i would give it 5 stars

When you check in and sign a waiver that you promise not to party and/or have more than one guest, you are not in Kansas anymore. This seems to be a bit of a party hub hotel. The location is of this property is great; almost everything is walkable in a city where a car is a necessity. The place was going under renovation but that did not affect any of services. Rooms are spacious and bar is very well stocked. Check-out was a breeze as well, front desk staff Kyrus helped me with last minute change in reservation and made it very easy for my remaining trip.

The front desk sent up a tin of their wonderful cookies which was a nice surprise and treat. The other room wasn't ready but I was kept informed of how long it would be until it was. When I think of Double Tree, I think of high standards, but be willing to pay the price, but I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. We also could walk to the Galleria & drug stores, and take the free shuttle to the grocery stores. The staff was excellent.

The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs. The free shuttle service was amazing we never had to wait long whether we were leaving the hotel or returning. The staff was amazingly kind and helpful. Only negative is the hotel room doors. The doors slam loudly as people leave/enter their rooms. The sound is jarring late at night and early in the morning. The rooms were very clean and quiet outside of the slamming doors.

Beautiful facility but poor staff management. After driving many hours to get to the hotel the entrance was being worked on and one could not get in to registrar. Understand the need to work on drive but there needed to be a better system of bringing in new quest. Then once you got in the staff was not very helpful. Maybe it was an off day, but the gentleman who waited on me and then switched to help the young lady with a very short dress didn't help my evaluation of their services.

The parking garage is a very short, secure walk from the entrance. The Executive Lounge was a nice perk. My only complaint is that the Hilton continental breakfast hasn't changed in 5+ years. The front deck staff were super nice and helpful. Easy self-parking and valet-parking. Location is awesome, close to everywhere! Walking distance to the mall and tons of restaurants. Will definitely come back next time I visit Houston!

Stayed here for a work trip and the rooms were clean, updated, and large. Perfect for working on the computer after work, relaxing and everything in the rooms was new and updated. Staff was amazing and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and meet my needs. Better than other hotels in the area because the rooms are bigger, newer and they have a shuttle that will take you within a 3 miles radius.

I was moved to two different rooms experiencing the same issues and had their maintenance staff come and check the unit and was not resolved. Very uncomfortable stay and dissatisfied with service and attention.

Stayed here 1 night on business. NOTE - hotel charges $25/night for self parking. I don't recall this disclosed when I booked this room. Hotel seemed overwhelmed with number of people checking in at 630P, but was checked in swiftly after patiently waiting. I was given a king room on 4th floor facing the street and told the hotel was completely sold out so they could not offer me any better located room on higher HH floor (with my diamond status). Not a big deal... However, that 4th floor room ... Read more

The hotel was nice and clean. The hotel staff was very courteous and friendly. Just be sure to request kitchenware if you booked a stay to take advantage of a suite w/ a full kitchen. I had gone to pick up a few things in order to prepare some meals while I was there, but when I got back from the grocery store I found there were no pots, pans, or utensils. This was not a major issue just a small inconvenience. Overall the stay was very good.

I booked this hotel to have a fun, swimming / kids vacation while here for thanksgiving. Nope ! No "heated" pool (outdoor). No hot tub, no fan in bathroom (stinky), Ac worked poorly, room had no microwave or fridge, gym was only 18 & up. Breakfast buffet was $12/person & parking fee was $24/day. The mattress was old & hard. With supports gone on the edges so had to sleep near the center to avoid rolling off. The whole hotel seems old & in need of updating. These are all things I wish I had know... Read more

Great hotel & great value, especially since the remodel (the lobby is gorgeous!). The suite works for my family of 5, even now that all the kids are teenaged. The rooms are very large. There's a small kitchen with a big fridge, a dining table, and 2 large TVs, and still plenty of floor space left over. The service is awesome. Only inconvenience for us is that the kitchen closes at 10. But the pub across Westheimer has a great steak special on Wednesdays that we'd highly recommend:). I love stay... Read more

Best setup of rooms for a great price. The staff here are very friendly and professional!! Room was pleasantly clean. Hotel staff went above and beyond to correct a missing cheese tray we ordered prior to arrival.

It was a very short stay for us to obtain a Visa for my daughter's study abroad semester next month. We chose this hotel and recommend to any who are doing the same-the shuttle took us straight to the consulate and back. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make this busy trip great!

It is a nice hotel Some details in the suite make me not give it the best grade Any way it is convinient and in a very nice location, surrounded by the best restaurants and Shopping centers. 8 out of 10 is the rate i give it

3 for sleep quality because our mattress was terrible, but all good things outweigh the bad mattress. Super friendly, helpful, pleasant staff. Large, clean rooms with the best layout for connecting/adjoining rooms. Location could not be better - walked to Galleria and restaurants. Highly recommend!
