I was not particularly worried about how good the hotel was, but in detail the issues were as follows: 1. dirty laundry left in bathroom from prior client 2. Someone in another room had their laundry out to dry on ALL of the railings on the second floor, looked very bad. They were also noisy, not exactly the fault of the hotel. 3. Flies in the room when I got there, didnt smell clean. 4. Property had trash all around, I felt like cleaning it myself, but then... But, I did sleep well, and that w... Read more

First room we were assigned smelled of smoke. Second room: Bathroom sink plumbing leaked, refrigerator leaked an oily substance which formed a puddle by morning. Front desk staff was unapologetic. $5 charge for parking. Seemed ridiculous since the parking lot was empty. Outdoor paint peeling everywhere. Ice machines in disrepair. There was no fruit at breakfast.

My stay went as I expected, clean room, friendly staff and a good breakfast. Everything was great until I went to pack up and leave, as I was loading my truck I noticed stuff missing and as soon as I popped the top on my toolbox that's where they really got me. Everything I use to work, tools and all were missing. Don't leave anything in your car of value! In addition to all that I could no get the Internet to connect. :/

This hotel is a block from the Seawall. It is dated and about what you'd expect for lower prices. The staff were friendly and as accommodating as possible. The floors and shower were clean and I had a fair view of the gulf. The room smelled musky and a bit like smoke, but I thought it wasn't terrible. At about 11:30 I was getting ready for bed and noticed a red bug almost the size of a centimeter on the pillow. Got a little freaked out, but thought, maybe this is solo thing and given the island ... Read more

This was a great priced Travelodge, especially for the location. You will get you money;'s worth with no great thrills. It had a normal sized and comfortable enough room with a microwave and a mini-fridge, for what you pay. If you need extra towels either bring your own (best idea) or be sure and ask for them when you check in, as you can't get them very easy in the night time, after a long day at the beach. The housekeeping was not perfect, I did my own mostly. It is a little crowded in the sum... Read more

our room was dirty with dust particles on all the corners of the room. The chairs to the table provided were cloth and had large brown stains on both cushions. The blankets on both our beds had numerous brown spots and did not smell clean at all. When called front desk to ask if they could be replaced they did not have extras. She did offer to wash them but at 10:00pm when you are tired that is the last thing you want to worry about. There was no Klenex in the tissue slot. The sheet rock ... Read more

The in-laws house was already full and it was nice to find one place where we could get a room. Seems almost all of the other hotels were already booked full. This Travelodge is a bare two blocks away from the seawall (and beach). A lot of stuff nearby for those interested.

First of all for non smoking it sure did smell of smoke. Some lady was yelling at the top of her lungs at 1:30 in the morning for no apparent reason other than drunk. People all night coming and going slamming doors. Very poor place to stay. The front desk personnel looked like they have never heard of an iron or presentation. I would recommend to no one!! Only giving 1 star because I HAVE to.

Not a great place to stay. Poor service, was given a room at check in that was already occupied. Went to room I was given w the room key, for someone to already be in it. Not the cleanest. Front desk was very unprofessional.

Per the internet pictures room looked nice, not the case. Front desk says non-smoking rooms and I booked a non-smoking room. Also not the case, room smelled SO bad. There was a whole stack of ash tray droppings all along the floor by the night stand. I didn't take my shoes off once while in the room. The caliber of the room was no where close to the price I paid for these accommodations. Advised the front desk of these things and they really did not seem to care. I do not normally give bad revie... Read more

This was easily the nastiest motel we have ever stayed in. There was black mold in the bathroom, as the shower enclosure was pulling away from the wall. There was a water leak inside the wall, which had obviously been there for a long while as calcium deposits had built up and been painted over. When you turned on the shower, water sprayed from the shower head and squirted out of the wall. The bed spread was stained, which is never good at a hotel. The continental breakfast was a disappointment.... Read more

We were told which rooms were ours we got to our room and on entering I could smell the dampness. The room was dirty the table and chairs were sticky the coat hangers were filthy the sink had a crack in it the bedding wasn't all that sparkling the tv stand was full of spillage marks . Stayed one night cancelled rest of stay and went to another hotel that cost more, desk said she would refund cancelled nights will see. Pool broken, black stuff on pool walls, patio closed

It is an OK place to stay for a night but wasn't impressed. First problem was during check in. The ladies were incredibly unprofessional. As a customer I don't need to know about your relationship problems or why your guy is in trouble for acting up. That alone caused them to really be slow and distracted from their job. Second problem, breakfast!?!?!! Absolutely disappointed. No egg, warm milk, no juice at all which is unacceptable keeping in mind we were there from the beginning of the breakfa... Read more

I was very disappointed in our stay at Travelodge Galveston. We were put on the 3rd floor even though I asked for a first floor room in my reservation because of a knee injury. They said to use the elevator, but the problem was the elevator didn't work. The first day house keeping didn't come in so I had no coffee and we had no clean towels to shower with. All the food in the continental breakfast was stale and old. Coffee creamer (the liquid kind) was all lumpy and coagulation when you opened t... Read more

So I am the type of person who writes good reviews when due, bad reviews when due and the same when disappointed. This hotel, with my 20% discount, was $156/night. The pictures online make it look a lot nicer than what you get in person. I just expected more from a hotel in the Wyndham hotel chain. There were bugs in the rooms, doors looked like they hadn't been painted since 1960 and forget sleeping. The beds are hard as rocks.... the shower had hairs all in it. Also, I could never get the wi... Read more

I have stayed in a lot of places but this one is pretty gross! It's dirty and smells of smoke! Our room didn't even appear to be cleaned when we checked in so we had to move to another room...that was cleaner but I wouldn't say CLEAN. Thankfully we only stayed there one night because we were leaving for a cruise the next morning! I would never stay here again.

If I could only use one word to summarize this hotel, it would be dirty. The shower had mold, the floor was never vacuumed, and the staircase made me feel like I was in a dark alleyway. The staff was not converstational either. When asked about if there were more options for breakfast, the receptionist cowered and told me that breakfast wasn't her job. Breakfast only had a couple options, all of which were lacking and bland. When it ran out, it ran out. For $200 a night, I thought this would be ... Read more

Clean but bad smell. Only one bar of soap so once we put one in shower there wasnt one in sink area to wash hands. There were not enough towels especially since there was no shower curtain liner and water goes all over the floor when one showers. Was especially upset to find out that the rate was double the normal rate simply became it was a holiday. So glad we only stayed one night and then switched to another hotel.

Funky smell to the room like chemicals trying to cover a smoking room (we asked for non-smoking), no shower curtain, only 2 towels for the 4 of us, no fruit or yogurt with the breakfast, elevator was broken so had to lug baggage, and at least two other rooms of our traveling group had bugs and/or no ac.

I found this hotel to be overpriced at $149 per night because it was very unclean and in a state of disrepair. Quite dark and dingy rooms. Unfortunately the staff had limited English language skills and they did not have a smile to greet customers with at all. On the up side, the location was very close to the beach so we did not have to walk too far and wi fi worked fine. The hotel just needs a good clean and repair. We did not eat breakfast there so I can't comment on that.

Literally just a place to sleep. The hotel appears older which is fine but looked a little dirty as well. The electrical outlets by the sink were not working and that included the hairdryer. However, on a positive note, the beds were comfortable and sheets and towels clean. Also the front desk staff was kind and courteous.

Reserved the room using Booking.com. Thank goodness I did that and saved a little money. The Travelodge is located very near the beach but it has limited views of the Gulf. The place is not very well kept. You can tell they put effort into trying to keep the place but the upkeep is very sloppy. For instance, the paint was fresh, but there was paint all over the windows and drips everywhere. The floor in our room on the third level felt spongy and the room smelled musky. The staff was very rude! No one greets your or acknowledges you when you walk in the lobby. We constantly have to go to the lobby to get new towels. We stayed for 4 nights and we did not have our room cleaned ONCE. The hotel has a weird odor. The breakfast was awful. The orange/apple juice machine never worked. The hotel placed a milk carton out for all guests to use. The milk was very warm. The fire alarm system has went off for two straight days now. The fire department has been out every time... i chose this location because at one time i was able to bring my pet along. I didn't know until I was there that pets were not longer allowed. The front desk staff was nice enough to make arrangements to let me stay with my pet this time. The other thing that was a bummer was that my son forgot his tennis shoes.
