I stayed at this hotel in April 2015 and wrote a very positive review. Things have gone down hill a bit. The location, pricing and room amenities are still fine. However, during my April 2016 stay, the coffee service in the lobby was unreliable. Sometimes there was no coffee at all, and sometimes the coffee was warm (not hot). Also, on one day (only) no juice at all was available during breakfast.

We stayed in the hotel for Easter weekend and to sum it up in one word: disappointing. The rooms were not well laid out and noisy. The breakfast was poor and not setup for the amount of people staying in the hotel. The location is not really convenient to all there is to do in Galveston and for the price per night better options are available. If you just need a place to crash for the night, it's ok, but for family stays find somewhere else.

This is the best Marriott brand hotel on the island- it is CLEAN, tidy and in working order unlike the newer sister hotels on the seawall. The staff is helpful, personal and friendly. Irene, the assistant GM was awesome before, during and after our stay. We will definitely return to the SpringHill Suites Galveston Island! Thank you for a great stay!

We stayed here with a multiple generation group and the suite style rooms suited our purposes well. Everyone could have their own area, but it only took two rooms for Grandma, two parents and two young children. The kids were fine on the pull out sofas and the adults slept better each having a "bedroom" area to themselves. The Texas shaped waffles were fun for breakfast.

It was amazing they had a beautiful room, and the service was outstanding. When you walk it, it feels like your at home. The shower was amazing and easy to use and the staff was nice. The beds were ultra comfy and the breakfast was remarkable. I would definitely recommend a stay here

Plzzzzzzzzzzzzz don't don't go in this one. We had very bad experience. My brother is a Marriott reward member and owing one of the hotels from Marriott. Still the front desk employee were very rude with us. They were not willing to help us at all. They were laughing on the back of guests. Even though we booked 2 regular king beds they gave us 1 of those accessible room when we asked to move us to a regular room then they gave us a handicap room. Again when we went to front desk to ask about a r... Read more

I tend to stay at Marriott hotels when I travel because overall they're a great hotel brand that offers good customer service. The customer service I received at this hotel was great, the ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful. I was disappointed in the location of the hotel. This was my first trip to Galveston and the surrounding area didn't have alot close by for tourist and wasn't a particularly nice neighborhood. If you're on a tight budget, I might recommend this hotel but if yo... Read more

I stay here for business as it's the only Marriott property on the island. Service is always good and the breakfasts are better than average. Gets busier in the summer months but never have a problem with availability. Location is a 12 dollar cab ride from the Strand .. No need to drive anywhere

Like staying in a Marriott hotel so when I found a deal in SpringHill Suites, I booked it. SpringHill Suites is located right after exiting the 45 freeway. We had a late check in so we didn't realize that our room had a small balcony with 2 chairs and had a waterview! The double beds were comfy. We had enough pillows. There is an extra linen and pillow for the sofa if somebody wants to sleep there. I love that there is a sitting area with a partial wall to separate it from the beds. There is... Read more

My Hunny and I stayed here for a romantic getaway and i must say it was nice however not like i gathered from the pics and descriptions. the pool and hot tub is really small but enjoyable after a day at the beach and water park. (which was all within less than 5 mins from the hotel) the breakfast was average but the customer service was exceptional. i just don't feel this room was worth over $200 a night. shouts out to the front desk clerk who allowed my hunny to use her personal lotion cause he... We stayed here for three nights during a Texas road trip vacation. 2 adults, 2 teens, and a toddler. The staff was friendly. The rooms were spacious. We had two queen beds and a living area with a couch, 2 end tables, a desk and one tv for both rooms to share. A small area with a sink, Small fridge, cabinet, microwave, and coffee pot. The location is ok. It's a little drive to the beach, but has ocean water views of what I think is a gully. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the beach on ... Read more

Our stay at Spring Hill Suites was very pleasant from the personnel to the quality of the suite. Our first room's lock was not working correctly so the management helped pack us up and move us to a room one floor up (which had a great view) - all done with apologies and a smile. The free breakfast was more than a bowl of cereal with everything from Yogurt to scrambled eggs. We highly recommend using Spring Hill.

Serviceable, clean, affordable. Friendly staff. Just off main road into Galveston. Some road noise from main highway but not overwhelming. About a 10 minute drive from the beach. Included self-serve breakfast okay. Fair variety of foods.

We have stayed here two times (we like to collect Marriott points) but were very disappointed both times. First time, half the lights were out, a chair was broken, toilet was clogged, AC was not working (in the middle of TX summer.. ouch), ants in the closet! Repeated complaints to the front desk got some but not all of the issues fixed. Thankfully we were out and about most of the 7 days we were there. The next time, we had similar issues.. AC not working, bathtub leaking, elevator (they ha... Read more

Had reservations at hotel for three nights. On the first night (July 26, 2016) that we were there, the parking lot was full but I was lucky to find a parking spot by a light pole thinking it was a good spot since I parked under the light. Was I wrong!! I woke up the next morning at 6 a.m. looked out the window and saw two police cars in front of hotel. When I looked towards my vehicle, I noticed the front passenger window had been smashed in. I hurried downstairs only to find out there were 12 o... Read more

I stay at many Springhill Suites and this one is below average due to the lack of attention to cleaning. A rust ring around the toilet under the bowl clearly visible from the tub indicates the housekeeping staff has been cutting corners. The toilet did not flush well either. We stayed in room 401. The hotel food was quite good as you would expect from a Spring hill. The staff at the front desk was quite welcoming and friendly. The cookies, lemonade and chips were nice as an evening welcome.

I thought the room was clean and spacious and offered a fridge and stove. Bed was clean as was the room. The bed was kind of lumpy and could be replaced. Pool and hot tub were clean Free breakfast had some decent choices. Free parking was a plus A bit of a drive to the strand and beach. Would stay again.

Clean hotel, good breakfast, short drive from the beach definitely worth the $. I wouldn't pay over $125 for the room though just me. The breakfast had waffles, sausage, eggs, pastries, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. I loved that the sausage was turkey on the day I stayed. The sausage varied between pork and turkey. The room was a good size ... Double beds seemed small. Sleeper looked clean but we didn't use it. We had a family of 3. My 13 yr old daughter and I sleep in 1 bed. My 16 yr. old slept in... Read more

We stayed one night at this hotel before a cruise. Rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We had arranged for a cab to pick us up in the morning to get to the cruise terminal. 1 and a half hours later we were still waiting! The housekeeping staff stepped forward and loaded us all in to their personal vehicles to take us over and drop us off. We cannot say thank you enough for their kindness and generosity!!

Springhill Suites usually delivers a nice experience, and this property was also very good. The downstairs breakfast and lobby area is very nice, and coffee is always available there (!). Some small negatives were that there is just one elevator, and on weekends the wait for it can get long. The exercise room is very small and limited to a treadmill and one other machine (elliptical maybe). The pool and whirlpool are indoors, which means you can use them rain or shine, and they are open long... Read more

We stayed here the night before our cruise. The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative is that before we left the next morning they had to actually physically go check the room before they would refund our deposit, which we had paid in cash. I guess getting in late and going straight to bed meant we were PARTY animals. Anyway it just made us feel like we had done something wrong when we had to stand there and wait for someone to go check the room.

This was a last minute booking. Two nights during the weekend with my family. 3 adults and two children. This hotel was able to accommodate us unlike other hotels in the area. Because there is a sofa bed there was a max of 5 people for the room. Other hotels said I had too many people for one room. Everything was super clean. The covers were thin and light but did the job. It's central air and heat so there isn't an annoying unit to mess with like other hotels. Room had a smart TV with Netflix w... Read more

We enjoyed the little kitchen area in our room and the fridge and microwave were handy to have. The hot breakfast was an added bonus and very much appreciated! Full disclosure - I am a Marriott Premium member What a great stay for a business overnight! Eva and Esmeralda at the front desk deserve special recognition for their help in finding stuff around the island and great dinner recommendations! This hotel was conveniently located about 5 minutes driving from the Convention Center where my job site was for the visit. Along the route there were plenty of great places to eat as well. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The wall-controlled... Read more

Upon entry into the hotel, the staff is friendly and helpful.
