Perfect Location!!! Across from the beach! We usually stay at The Hotel Galvez but they were booked full of memorial day weekend, since the Double Tree is right next door we gave it a try. Glad we did the hotel was great! Best of all it was quite a bit cheaper! Super Staff, Comfy Beds , Big Rooms, Great Price You'll love it!

The hotel has very fun and clean rooms. The rooms were done in bright colors and fun furniture! Nice views of the ocean from our room and private balcony. Has a swim up bar with a restaurant called longboard a must do dining experience. The staff was very professional and friendly!

My sister's and niece stayed here from 5/16-18. Staff was so nice. Of course cookies are the best!! Only problem with our stay was there was some type of issue with a leak or something on our 2nd day. We came back from beach and wanted a shower and was told water was turned off. It lasted just an hour or so but there was a musty smell for the rest of stay. Hopefully issue was worked out. I actually plan on returning next Spring.

Very nice hotel. Rooms very new and comfortable. Longboard Bar employees were kind. Staff at hotel kind and helpful. Did not like paying $10 per day to park at the hotel. Street noise while outside IE: balcony and at pool bar, a bit loud due to hotel very close to the seawall traffic.

Great stay overall. The location can't be beat and the design is really pretty and cozy! Love that every room faces the beach and has a balcony. The bar and pool is the main focus here and it's worth the price of the hotel.

The facility is very clean because it's new but there was nothing good about our stay here. When I first went to check in, I said hello how are you to Brandi and she said "hold on a minute" - How rude! Your staff needs some manors! ...They don't offer valet, there's no help with luggage. We went to the pool bar and the atmosphere is blah! The staff was not very friendly and we had to send our Mango Ceviche back because it was sour. We then ordered chips and queso and it was disgusting. The guac... Read more

The hotel is clean, the staff and view is great, and it has such a fun mid century modern theme throughout. The best thing about the Hilton is its beach front access and view. We were able to easily access a variety of restaurants and attractions by walking. Would highly recommend!!

I choose the Double Tree for location and a water view balcony. When I arrived there were not working lights in the room because the bulbs had burned out. I had to use the light from the TV to see. I could not get the balcony door open to enjoy the balcony. A mantienance man came to the room the next day and changed the bulbs and forced open the door. He told me the locking mechnasim was stuck because the door had settled and the salt air had likely caused corrosion. Once the door was closed, I ... Read more

Our stay at this hotel was quiet pleasant. Good location, friendly staff, good view-all rooms are ocean front. However, our car got broken into while parked in the back parking lot of hotel under a surveillance camera. During our stay other cars were broken into as well. The keys very rarely worked when we're trying to get into the room so we had to continuously go up and down the stairs to get into our room we did not have foam pillows and we had severe allergies and they were not accommodating although the manager tried to be. My family stayed at the Doubletree for two nights. The hotel is well located, modern and clean. The view from the room to the beach was great. We also really enjoys yes the pool and pool bar. The only down side was the price of the extras. Parking each night and a buffet breakfast that was really expensive for what I get free elsewhere. We also ended up paying $1 per stamp from the lobby desk so my daughter could mail some postcards. Overall very pleased with my stay and I would do it again. ... Read more

All ocean facing rooms is a nice bonus. $10 a night parking is a bit ridiculous during the week. Rooms were extremely quiet, staff was rather upbeat and helpful when needed. They do offer a free shuttle service to any where on the island. Getting a return pickup is quiet impossible and with no uber your at the mercy of the 3 can drivers on the island. Location is great with a couple restaurants in walking distance and the party beach within a block. Would defiantly return to the doubletree.

Our $209/night premium room was just a normal room, and not really worth the price. No suite, no couch, not much but a bed and a small patio. The Longboard bar is cool as the pool is next to it and you have swim up access but the service is very slow. The location is a 5-8 minute walk to the pier so it is convenient but overall the $209/night was just too high.

I was excited to stay at this new hotel. I made a reservation using Hilton Honors points. I have been at the Diamond level for many years due to a lot of business travel. When we checked in, our Diamond status was not mentioned (Hilton family hotels are always suppose to recognize a customer's Honor's status). I was very disappointed in the look of the hotel. It is ultra modern and cold. There is only one elevator in the lobby. I had to ask for our Double Tree cookies and was told they we... Read more

Everything was perfect here and staff was very helpful. We rented there bikes for free and took them for a spin down the Sea Wall to get lunch. The pool was perfect and clean and has a swim up bar! Of course the water was cool but the sun was out to keep us warm!

We stayed here for one night in October. The one thing that really just made this hotel a no-go was the draining of the bathtub. I can handle most everything else, but when taking a shower and standing in calf deep dirty water...I just can't recommend it. Also, I get that Galveston can get a little moldy smelling, but the fake smell in the lobby to cover it up was not pleasant. You also have to pay to park, in the unsecured lot in the back. The room was over priced to begin with, nickel and dim... Read more

The hotel was nice and upgraded with nice amenities;SMEG refrig., Keurig coffe pot, etc, but no microwave. Looked to have been recently remodeled with a 60 decor. :) All the rooms face the Gulf which was a major plus, and each room has a small balcony. Our room overlooked the pool. Some guest rec'd a "goody bag", but I guess that was for members only. ??? I have a card, but didn't have it with me... I think is may have expired anyway. I would stay there again. Only draw back which wasn't bad, i... Read more

My regret is that this may become too popular and I won't be able to stay here again..:) I stayed here for a two day business trip. I checked in, used my digital hotel key on the HH app. Works very well. The room is modern, and each room has a beach view. The balconies all come with a table and two chairs. You are close enough to hear the roar of the ocean, and the view is spectacular. They pool is large and able to accommodate lots of people. The grounds are well manicured and there is a fire ... Very nice hotel with wonderful gulf view and easy access to the beach. Walking access to nearby restaurants, the pier amusement park and shopping. 5 minute drive to the cruise terminal if you're sailing out of Galveston. The staff was friendly and efficient. Did not eat on property so can't offer any review. The pool looks wonderful with an adjacent bar but the pool was not heated in November. The only thing I would change is the parking fee for guests. I would prefer to just pay more for the ro... Read more

Staff is amazing! GM Rick is doing something right, customer service and with a smile starts from the top down. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Had drinks at Longboards, great place to enjoy the ocean view.Recommend the chips and cheese dip. It was so good we ordered two. Kudos to Rick and his staff at the DBL Tree
